Goodwill Darboy WI 7/6/23 @2:35pmA long time ago when I used to live in the Appleton Wisconsin area family that came in from out of town. We always had to make a stop at the store.I like this store because it’s very clean on the inside and people are very helpful. I had to take my cousin here who’s up there in years and is disabled .There is plenty of parking in the front of the whole store for disabled people. Also, there’s an area where I can drop off goods. Please don’t put them in a landfill. If you have something you don’t need consider going here if you live close by. Don’t stick it in your garage taking up room when you can give it to somebody that could really really use it.The store is arranged according me again, very clean on the inside employees very hopeful while I was there for about 45 minutes. A lot of people came in the store or we’re leaving the store.I was on a mission to find some frames because I do a lot of artwork, and I was very pleased with what I found the items I got were priced accordingly my cousin also was able to find what she was looking for for a very small amount of money.I would highly recommend the store.Until the next review,Steve-O out!

I recently stopped to look for curtains I am making for a friends bedroom and found a pair reasonable but while there I looked through clothes. I am so surprised at the cost on tops! How do they justify 5.99-8.99 for blouses that were "given" to them( they would sell more quantity if more reasonable) The 50% tags are also nothing but making you look more- there were VERY few of them. The gentleman checker was very nice.

1 star. 12/30/23 Darboy location. Stopped off at the donation door prior to going in to shop. I was donating a large glass punch bowl with 8 glass cups - heavy box with so much glass in it and it was packaged up real nice indicated by "fragile" written on the box. The donation line was was rather busy at about 10 vehicles deep. When I proceeded to place my box with said donated item into their rolling bin, I indicated to the door attendant (tall, larger older man) that this is glass and therefore fragile. He proceeded to yell at me, "I don't care!" in the most rude way. In an effort to diffuse his surly demeanor towards me, I said, "I just didn't want it to get damaged. That's all." Again, he rudely yelled, "I DON'T CARE! I'M JUST WORKING THE DOOR." I was completely taken aback by such an ungrateful person/company that is accepting donations FOR FREE! Who do you think you are mister? Since where do you get off speaking to donors like that?As I was walking away, I responded, "Don't ask for donations then if you're going to be so ungrateful." What an awful, mean-spirited man. I should've just grabbed my donated item right back out of that rolling bin and popped it on marketplace for free. Going forward, I will not be patronizing this location (and subsequently the entire chain) ever again - both for shopping and donating. Clearly they don't need and/or want items.

i saw a really cute shirt here . the tag fell off, but i was gonna get it if it were $5 or less. the guy working there said $8 was the best he could do(ok bud sure). but anyways i was like no way! that’s cray. there was a stain on it and it was fraying so it should not have been $8! thrift stores r supposed to be cheap! like i could have taken some other tag off and lied but i didn’t! also like if i worked there i would have just given a lower price bc i’m nice but whatever dude. everything here and at goodwill in general was overpriced.

Store is nice. Service is so so. You can find some decent deals. As a whole I think Goodwill is getting more expensive for hand me down stuff. A lot of stuff is junk. Try Bethesda or St Vincent De Paul thrift shops. Same stuff just cheaper. I understand the money goes towards helping others but when the ceo of a non profit is making for profit salary there is an issue here.

Nice store with great selections of clothing for the whole family; however, highly priced compared to other local thrifts. Wish Goodwill would make it more affordable for families on a low income budget to help their community as they indicate. Seeing all of their items are received at no cost, or donated to them. I have been shopping here for years and have noticed the prices increasing 😢

Selling canning jars for double what they are new. $2.99 for 1 USED quart jar is crazy

😡 Terribly high prices. I couldn't believe how many things were prices extremely high for simples mugs, small knick knacks, chipped mini figures, dated electronics, used items ALL OVER PRICED! A scratched up desk with a missing keyboard drawer... $70!? A set of matching vases $4 dollars EACH (why the hell are they trying to sell anything outside of a set?). Not sure what type of tight wad they have in the back pricing up items but get them out of there. These are USED items, not new. This is completely unacceptable. 😡

I didnt take a single thing with me into the dressing room that wasn't a $1.99 pink clearnace tag. I chose one dress and a sweater. The tag fell off between the dressing room amd the register. The cashier took it into the back for a manager to price and she put a much much more expensive price on it and a different color sticker. What a waste of time and a complete bait and switch. Lots of over-priced stuff in this store.

The visit was pleasant. The store is clean. But the inventory level in the men's apparel was quite low. Not much selection. Only found one shirt I bought. Even shoe department not much selection looking for winter shoes.

I used to love this location. After not visiting the store for a couple years, I found it lacks inventory, lacks the quality it once had and has inflated the prices greatly. I shop many locations and was surprised at the change in this one.

I’ve found quite a few nice things here and I think it’s clean and well organized. However, when I get to the checkout I’m always asked to round up. Because I know the salary of their CEO’s I hate to do that but I usually agree. On this particular day when I was at the checkout, the cashier asked me to donate $1 to support their causes. I said ok. He then asked me to round up a second time to make my sale an even $30 instead of $29.68. He asked for more money not once but twice! That brought my donation up to $1.68. I did agree but have decided that in the future will say sorry, not today. Google what the CEO of Goodwill in Wisconsin earns on donated items.

Prices are too high. .management is overpaid, spending money to advertise how low there prices are instead of having them

Not biting my tongue on this one… a few days ago I purchased some legos, opened box and found that 100s of pieces are missing, so I was gonna return it, however I stopped in today and found that all my missing pieces were in the $0.39 toy bin, I found a bucket and spent almost an hour picking all these tiny small pieces. I finally get done and go to the back and ask if they could price this as a lot since I’ve already purchased the set a few days ago. There was a lady back there that was so rude and said “well if they were in the $0.39 bin that’s where they belong”, again I explained how I bought the set a couple days ago and these were missing from my set. Another lady said to call manger, the rude lady rolled her eyes and snippy and called for a manager. I stepped out cause I didn’t want to look at her face. Anywho, while still waiting for the manager I stepped out into the store, while the whole time this rude lady kept going on and on that I should be charged $0.39 for each individual piece. I did eventually get them to price the bag. I’m calling out this rude lady, she had no right to talk to me and roll her eyes the way she did. I’m calling you out, I will find out your name and add it in here. She’s probably in her early 40s, short, shoulder length hair, eye roller with an attitude! I hope you get fired someday!!

This goodwill is the worst by far. Over the years it just been going downhill. They are awful to their employees, racks are constantly empty even though they get hundreds of donations everyday, and the prices are absolutely ridiculous!! Do not shop here!

Crowded on the weekends but great selection of items looking for a new home. Most notably clothes and household items, from furniture to pictures to dishes. Gently used things looking for another chance to be important in someone's life.

Decent prices, tons of quality clothing options, affordable goods, friendly service. They have a great half price colored tag, that changes each week. So, yellow tagged items are 50% of one week, and purple the next. Each time I go, I am able to find something.

GREAT SERVICE. SAW HOW YOUNG GENTLEMAN AT CHECK-OUT TREATED EVERY CUSTOMER WITH RESPECT AND AN OVER ABUNDANCE OF GENEROSITY. I CAN ATTEST TO THIS, AS I WAS WAITING FOR MY WIFE AND WATCHING HIM. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE HIM.

Starting to become disappointed. Goodwill was always one of my favorite stores, however, of late I have realized they are doing something, that in my way of thinking is dishonest. The last several times I have gone into Goodwill and I look at the color of the 50% off tag, I have noticed that there are very few tags of that color. At first I thought perhaps they had been selling them. But then on a few trips, I saw employees taking items off the shelf that were of one color tag. This particular day it was yellow. Employees were carrying clothes that had yellow tags and I saw two shipping carts full of items with yellow tags. Strange. So, the next week I went in and what do you know, the 50% color was yellow. They pulled most of the items from the store that had the color tag of the next weeks sale. These items are donated and pure profit. The 50% off sale is to help remove inventory, raise money and people will buy other color tags. But now they are hiding the items that are 50% off and still promoting this sale. To me that is dishonest. Why are you pulling those items? Not a good way to teach your employees honestly. Not sure I can trust that my donations will be used for something good when the management is doing this. Leaves a bad taste for the entire organization.

They must give the handicapped people a price gun and tell them to go crazy... $10 for an old yellowed. Keyboard $50 for a pyle subwoofer that cost $25 new!!! half the stuff here you can buy new cheaper! Plz don't donate to this scam!! Donate to a true charitable organization.. the smell of body oder from their employee was so bad today I got a headache!!

Well I do occasionally find good deals at this Goodwill in the end it's more or less a rip off like all Goodwills. If you can get the right half price ticket on sale then the stuff usually is a better value but I would not normally pay their retail prices. You will often see stuff that used to be at Target and greed will is trying to sell it for more than the last markdown price. You'd think they'd at least be smart enough to instruct the minions to remove old price tags

Super organized, everything was separated by size and color in clothing, the books were categorized by genre and in alphabetical order by author. Lots of great things here! Would highly recommend!!

Nice newer building. Displays are nice. Some prices are to high. Go to another place and get it brand new not used for cheaper.... Good selection of merchandise. Staff was nice and helpful.

This place is aweful and looking to screw people for money. My mom bought what she thought was 2 sets of the floor alphabet mats. She was so excited she said there was one left for me to go get it. I went to her house to help her set it up since she can't crawl around on the floor. She paid for 2 packages and it wasn't even the whole set. I went in and saw another bag bought it. It was the rest of the set they split the floor mat set up and sold it in 3 bags. That is bullshit. I'm calling and looking for the general.manager. this is donated stuff no one should have to buy a set in 3 bags. If I would not have gone back and bought the 3rd bag she would have never had the whole thing. Plus each bag was 4.99 each. Very angry with Goodwill.

Other than the fact that I always walk out with way less money in my pocket then when I started, I love spending my free time here. The customer service is superior, the money goes to a great cause and I get to rummage through people's old treasures and make them my own.

Got there at opening for donations, workers had clean up donations dropped off during the night. They worked as fast as they could and still got the donation line moving quickly. Way to go guys!!! Someone should give them a pat on the back for how quick they cleaned up other people messes.

I was REALLY upset with a older cashier , Manager when I stopped with my wife at this location. My wife is busy, buying our the store. We LOVE our local Goodwill locations in Wisconsin Rapids, Steven's Point and Marshfield. My 15 year old daughter is back in Wisconsin Rapids and I needed to contact her, as she is sick. This lady told me that I could NOT plug in my phone, so I could contact my daughter. It was a emergency call to get help for our daughter Chantel. This woman was a total grouch before Christmas . Or should I say Grinch?

I like how easy they make donating your items. I pulled into the drive thru and one of the employees helped me unload my items. The whole process of donating a trunk full took only a couple minutes.
