Leased a newly built apartment through Holstein - construction is shoddy and various mistakes were made (i.e. installing doors the wrong way such that they wouldn’t fully close or opened the wrong way, forgetting to install hooks that were installed in every other apartment, and failing to properly seal bathtub overflow drain such that it leaked when filling the tub), and management did not fix these issues after complaining. Shelly (current office manager) was hard to reach via email or phone, and their office is appointment only. She also would usually only email my roommate (even when I reached out to her directly, she would email a response only to my roommate) and failed to include me on important notices (i.e. unit showings and maintenance requests). Security deposit was only sent to my roommate rather than sending half to each of us as we are now at separate addresses, and the cleaning fees taken out of said deposit were ridiculously expensive. One of the worst rental companies I’ve ever experienced.

Absolutely the worst rental company to go through. Will never get back to you in a timely manner, and if you need to break lease/find subleasers it is almost impossible to be out within a couple months.

Shelly seemed really unprofessional and incompetent in most of her dealings with me. Forgot to cc me on emails, etc. You probably want to go elsewhere if you want someone that knows what they are doing

Can't speak to others' experiences, but my girlfriend and I rented from Holstein for close to six months. I was hesitant at first due to some of these other reviews. Glad I ignored them.The apartment was fine, the price was fair, we were college students. This company is great for pets. Their fee is much smaller than others I've come across and there is no (illegal) non-refundable pet deposit you might see from other rental places in Eau Claire. Unfortunately we had to move out in January of 2020 through no fault of our own or the fault of the company and we broke lease. The company was understanding, professional and helpful to us, we found another tenant and received our full security deposit back, since we took care of the place and took photos. Great experience and would rent from them again.

This property management has terrible service. First they didn’t send me the renewal lease on time. I let them know a month before the lease was done and they put the blame on me even though THEY didn’t send it to me.

Wonderful experience. I had a rough situation as I had recently moved to Eau Claire and had no local rental references. They were still able to accommodate my application and work something out to get me a lease. Rented the same apartment for over a year and would definitely rent from again.

I've rented on and off for four or five years. Haven't had any real issues. They helped me get into a bigger place when my daughter was born and got my place rerented when I bought a house. They mostly just leave you be except a yearly smoke detector inspection and for maintenance. One of the only places I could have my dog.

I have rented through this company for about 5 years and have lived in a couple different apartments and a house. The process was always seamless. The units were always clean when I moved in and maintenance issues were addressed in a reasonable timeframe. If I did not own a house now, I would still be renting through this company!

My daughter is on housing was promised a unit and then the tenant changed there mind after we paid the deposit. In the middle of winter. Then they insisted she look in a less than desirable neighborhood. The apartment was great for her and her kids. We did everything required by them.

I rented from Fischer Realty a few years ago and had a great experience. Rent was affordable, the house was in good shape, and the office staff were very knowledgable and helpful. This is one of the few companys that I found that accepts pets. I highly recommend!

Doesn’t respond in a timely manor to maintenance requests and only has a single maintenance person so if anything happens they won’t send anyone else to fix the problems and also has very very poor customer service and are extremely rude

Set up a showing for an apartment with this company and the man showing the unit was rude and short with me. I would've liked to felt valued, not rushed and like I was an inconvenience.

Great place to live when you have a leaking toilet upstairs that rains urine in the bathroom but the maintenance man can't come because he's leaving for Arizona.
