Okay, this Cenex is a fair to middlin’ convenience store. BUT, we got Cedar Crest ice cream that was much better than your typical McDonald’s hot fudge sundae. Score! Thanks to the clerk who pointed us to the ice cream spoons. Nice way to end an afternoon hiking at Roche-a-Cri!

Do not give these people your money for anything. Manager wouldn’t let 2 teenagers coming back from WI Dells into the building during a tornado warning. Guy said they can get blown away for all I care. What kind of person says that? Had to call 911 so police could waste time during a weather emergency. No need for that kind of attitude and definitely no need to support that kind of business. Drive 3 miles and go somewhere else.

OMG!!!! The nicest people and the greatest service. I’m not telling any of my trucker buddies about this place. These people are too nice to be exposed to most of these drivers. The most unique sausages and cheese from local butcher can be found here. I’m so happy I found this place. The place is completely spotless and clean. These people take great pride in their business and it shows.

I was making small talk about my little sisters(I was buying a bunch of boxes of candy for them) and the cashier threw in a LOT of candy suckers for them. It made my day and she did it again when I came back a few days later. Very nice staff, never too crowded, and great selection of food and snacks.

Showed up at 10:03PM to get a couple items before they closed at 10:30pm as it is listed on their page. I was turned away with “slice across the neck” hand signal which could have easily be taken as a direct threat for someone who may not have understood the hand gesture. I attempted to make contact to question why they are closed when their listed hours said otherwise which the cashier blankly turned away and ignored me further. After being a manager of a convenience store for a few years, I see this as completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I will be further contacting corporate to discuss further actions as this affects more than just me. It affects the community. People waste their time and fuel to get here and get turned away because they closed before the listed time. I suggest either the manager take action in educating their employees about proper store procedure or change their business hours immediately as this is a horrible inconvenience for anyone who shops here. And as an added bonus, there was a recent day where I observed a cashier tell an elderly man attempting to purchase an alcoholic drink, “I don’t care how people feel, I’m carding everyone!” And proceeded to insist that an obviously 60+ year old man show his identification to her in order to make a beer sale. Come on, seriously? Common courtesy guys! That is completely disrespectful to our elderly folk and should NOT be a option. There are very few people who work there that I would give high marks to. Kyron (forgive means if I spelled your name incorrectly!) is absolutely amazing, friendly, helpful, and always cheerful. That is someone who should be running the place. And there is another gal, can’t think of her name, blond curly hair in the mornings typically, absolutely lovely to deal with. And they are the only reason this place gets a star. Without them, I wouldn’t even consider stepping near the place.
