We rarely have bad experiences anywhere we go, but the best thing I can say about our experience at this hotel is that the employees were friendly and the breakfast was better than we expected. But as others have mentioned, the room was pretty bad.The room we stayed in hadn't received a thorough cleaning in quite some time. There were bug carcasses on the floor near the A/C and the bottom of the old, somewhat-rusty tub looked like it needed a serious scrubbing. The mysterious brown streak of unidentified substance really grossed out my family but we were exhausted so we decided to try to sleep anyway. There was something like sand in the bed sheets, but they didn't look dirty so we brushed it off. Also, the heater's thermostat really needs help. Since it's a through-the-wall AC + Heater combination the cold from the outside made the heater think it was colder in the room than it actually was. We set it at 60 degrees and it was still well over 75. We eventually turned it off and opened the door to let the sub-40' air cool the room but our sleep was pretty rough. Easy solution is to detach the sensor probe and let it hang down under the AC unit so it reads the ambient air inside the room more accurately.Oh, and the internet was equally as bad - much slower than 3g. Maybe faster than dial-up but not by much. The ratings on the hotel looked decent (over 8/10 on a hotel site) and we've had really good stays at Quality Inn in the past, but this was by far the worst hotel stay we've had in over 10 years. I'd recommend paying a bit more for a higher-quality inn.

Just a quick stay before we go on a steam train ride through the mountains of West Virginia and I love it here. The check-in desk was helpful. Gave us change for the vending machine, nice breakfast, large clean rooms and friendly staff.I wish o could stay longerFood & drinks: They have a complementary breakfast. We love this, with 6 people it’s a huge money saver.

This was by far, the most disgusting room I have ever encountered. So here goes: no heat ( temp was in 40’s last night), dirty sheets ( had make up on sheet n pillow case, so I ran across road and bought new ones), smell was horrid so I bought candles, Lysol and incense. Then when I went to shower, hot and cold are backwards so I thought I had not hot water ( fortunately I did) but, as I got in the shower, found a dirty wash cloth and half empty shampoo on shelf n hanging from shower rod. The bathroom floor had dirt and wet hair, the urine stitch was unreal. The towels look gray they are so dingy. If that’s not enough, we went to check out and ran into nice couple ladies who stated and shared a pic, of bug in the bed, urine all over commode lid n no heat. They had to change rooms 3 times. The only positive thing is Jennifer, gal working front desk, was a gem. Also, the maid brought her cart and parked it in front of our door. Why would you do that? Why is Quality Inn allowing their name to be rated so low. Oh and let me not forget, I got a 10% discount on my stay. Needless to say, that was a slap in the face. And…. The free breakfast, lady said they are out of eggs and that the gravy and biscuits was all that was left, until the truck ran! Who runs a business like this. Let me also mention, plug in tub is laying on side of tub and won’t screw in. And as I went to turn wall light off, it fell downward! Please, do better. And thanks Jennifer, you tried to accommodate but you can’t fix stupid. I did take a couple pics. Also the other women had a pic of a bug in their bed and showed us.

Absolutely appalled by this hotel. I've never felt so disrespected. I checked in Friday February 9th. Check-in was fine, the lady was wonderful. We had some issues with the machine, it took money out on my end, but didn't know theirs. So they scanned a copy of my card. We got checked in and got up to our room. As soon as we walked into the room it was musky, and dirty. It was very obvious it hadn't been cleaned. The bed was unmade, there were clothing tags everywhere, and a tissue with lord knows what on it. They did exchange us to a clean room, however the whirlpool tubs faucet wasnt sealed and was loose, and the toilet looked like it had never been cleaned. The AC also wasn't the best. We had it set to low, but it still stayed about 72°. Other than that it was fine. Saturday night into Sunday morning is where we had the issue. We could hear our neighbors. My boyfriend and I were trying to be respectful and ignore it; mind you this went on from 5pm-3:40am. We got a call at 3am saying we were "breaking the bed" and being too loud. Obviously we said okay, and apologized. My boyfriend and I sat in our room talking no louder than a whisper, and we could hear our neighbors talking and hear their bed squeaking. At close to 3:30am we got another call. My boyfriend went down to explain the situation, and was disrespected by a lady working the desk, so I went down to speak with the staff and explain myself. I spoke to the owner who kept interrupting me, and talking over me anytime I'd try to speak. He was very disrespectful. He said he had went up to "check" on us, and said he went to our door and we were being very loud (we were trying to sleep at the point he was checking). We only woke up because of the phone call. He also heavily insisted that I check out early (it was 3:38am) because it would be easier. After several times of him interrupting me I gave up and just went back to my room to try to sleep. As I was in my room trying to sleep I heard a vacuum running, and something that sounded like a drill (still 3:40am-4am). All in all terrible experience. I will not be returning and I don't recommend this place. I've never had this issue before.

Roaches....need I say more. Checked in November 15th on the way home from Florida. First room, #140 had roaches on the ceiling, moved to the main building room #107 and found dead roaches on the floor. Promptly checked out. I will say that the young man on the front desk was very nice. Went next door to the Hampton, which was lovely and reasonably priced.

This was horrible. We weren’t in the room 10 minutes and left. The smell made you almost throw up. I was afraid to sit on the beds. These rooms do NOT look like the pictures. Definitely some photo shopping happening. We left and went to Hampton Inn. I gladly paid the price to be able to breathe.Rooms: Smelled of mold and old stale ashtrays. Disgusting.

The location was easy to find, close to places like Sheetz and McDonalds, but not so close to the highway to hear traffic noise. Nice and quiet. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our room had a nice-sized mini-fridge and microwave, not something I expected to get for the low-price we got. Beds were also very clean and very comfortable. Hotel staff were all friendly and nice. Great breakfast with a waffle iron and batter, biscuits and gravy, assorted packaged pastries, cold cereals, juices, yogurt, coffee, etc. The hotel looks largely newly painted, lovely counters and tables and furniture, etc. Very impressed! The price was certainly affordable!

Off I-77 convenient for a night stop over traveling back north. The rooms looked old, dark. Bathroom was small only waffles on a Saturday morning. Not impressed by the staff. Probably would not staff again. It was pet friendly which is always a good feature. However hard to find a place to walk them . Low scale place for a Choice hotel.

Rooms are comfortable, though a little spartan, and there was a fridge/microwave combo in my room despite it not being listed as a feature. Staff is great and very helpful. Location is across from Sheetz and Walmart so if you need anything it's right there and there are a couple of other restaurants in the area. Great spot to stay if you need a breather before finishing up a drive further north or if you are heading to the Canaan Valley/Seneca Rocks area. The gym was unexpected and while not having much equipment, was just nice to be able to get in a workout while on the road. Free breakfast in the morning including decent coffee and they didn't mind me filling up my to-go cup for the road. The only drawback is if you are a light sleeper. Route 33 is really busy with 18-wheelers and coal trucks and you are right off the road so you will hear them go by every 20-30 seconds. Bring some ear plugs if you have a hard time falling asleep! Prices are reasonable/better value for the area. I used to stay in Summersville when on this trip, but the motels there raised their rates $30-40/night so this was a much better option even with the extra hour drive.

Motel just off expressway! My ♿ room with a mountain view ended up being a NON♿ suite with a view of Walmart. Breakfast was offered however not a huge selection. I made my reservation on Choice Hotels web/app check in was easy the staff just didn't explain the room issue up front!!!Rooms: The shower had zero grab bars, tub (looked dirty/stained), toilet was way too low even for a normal room, comforter was ripped from one side to the other but hidden by the light top cover, however the bed and pillows were comfortable. The room had a fridge, coffee maker, microwave, and couch we did not use. Bathrooms really need an upgrade!!!!

I stayed her for a long while and, during the good times, loved it.Times have changed. They do not keep up on the maintenance of the rooms. I've stayed in rooms where the TV did not work at all, often lights (usually the bathroom lights for some reason) didn't turn on. The list of maintenance problems is endless. They cut back on housekeeping immensely so, that leads to all sorts of problems. They at one time served a very nice breakfast but scaled that back to not much more than cold cereal and toast. And the end game was, the raised prices. And not by a little, not something pocket change would cover. By a very good amount, over $20.Honestly, there are better places right within five minutes of the place.

This place really exceeded my expectations! The room was very nice, VERY clean! The location was easily accessible. Lots of places to eat close by the location. The staff already had my reservation ready, and all I had to do was walk in and sign. The breakfast was very good, and the morning staff was very pleasant. If I am in this area again, I will definitely be staying here. It was very quiet, and there was any riff raff running around either! Nice Job Weston Quality Inn, this review is for all of you that work so hard to make this a decent place!

The hotel is pet friendly and still pretty nice without a large pet fee. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and the breakfast was pretty good. The staff is friendly, lobby is small but nice. The shower drain was slow and there was an odor in the other room. Hallways are outside. 2 vending machines did not work. Mini refrigerator and a microwave in the room and wifi is included. Overall good stay

For the price, and for a 2-star hotel, this was fantastic! I was able to get two rooms for the four people in my group instead of cramming into one room for the same price. Beds were really comfortable and nice and rooms had plenty of space. Hot breakfast actually happened (which has often not been the case when I've stayed at many nicer hotels). I was grateful for this place!

I was amazed at the cleanliness, friendliness and location for the price. Can't beat it. Definitely recommend. Save 50-100 dollars and stay here instead of any of the surrounding hotels!Safety: Safe location. Very clean rooms and common area!

Always stay here for family reunions and never once had a negative experience! The beds are comfy and rooms are always clean. Bathrooms always look and smell nice! Pool has always been great temperatures. 10am to 10pm time in the pool. Great little work out room. Lobby is always nice. 100% recommend to everyone!

What a great stay we had at the Quality Inn. As we were on a road trip and stayed at many hotels, I would say it is underrated as a 2star hotel and should at least have one more. The rooms were spacious, newly renovated, thoughtfully designed and above all extremely clean. Slept great. Price can't be beat, with a great breakfast included. A big thank you to the lovely staff and wonderful West Virgina hospitality. Be sure to check out the Appalachian Glass Musuem in town. Highly recommend.

Great hotel for our overnight stop. It's an older hotel but we'll maintained. It's right across the street from a Walmart and sheets. We were given a room in the business wing. There are about 8 rooms and the gym is also located here. This building sits closer to the street than the main hotel. It was a little noisy (traffic) during the day time hours but we did not hear really any traffic at night. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The towels are actually big enough for an adult. The only small complaint was the shower started getting cool at the end of the 2nd shower in the am.I would definitely stay here again.
