Dr. Mary is so thorough. Very good with my animals. And the assistants and front desk are very friendly. I have been going to their hospital for many years.

The staff members are very welcoming. Had 2 cats spayed and neutered there. They called right after surgery to let me know my kitties had zero complications and were doing great. Unfortunately, they are not taking on any new clients at this time. Highly recommend it when they do.

After going here a few years, I've decided to add thoughts to my review. My dogs all love going to this vet. Hands down the best they've been treated anywhere. My lab never leaves without at least 6 belly rubs n 6 treats lol. These guys literally treat your pet like their own n you'd be hard pressed to find that at most places anymore. My only complaint is the hours but those may be typical (I always have an issue in the evening with my dogs, because lord forbid they get into something at a decent hour). I find them to be quite affordable despite not taking care credit. Blood work is just as pricey as other places though. I've moved n they're a bit of a hike to get to now but I won't go anywhere else unless it's an emergency.

Before even coming into room to examine my dog stone wanted to order a bunch of different tests. Well from my 20 years as a pet owner u examine the animal first to see what all would need. Not do before u ever even enter room and discuss w you what the issue is . I feel vet stone is very impersonale and has no connection w the animals and a cold personality. Won't be back to vet with her but will continue w vet g. She's great.

I thought long and hard about this review but wanted to put an honest and recent review. If you have a healthy pet that only needs vaccines, then this is the place for you. If your pet ever is sick or has an emergency forget about getting care. I was a client then quit going there and I was quickly reminded why. I had a very sick dog, and was never offered help getting him from or back to my car. The dr nor staff were never actually concerned with helping my dog, but I was repeatedly told that “we close at noon today”. We left with no answers, no relief, and the only advice was “if he’s not feeling better in 24 hrs take him to an emergency vet.” If you include hospital in your name then the establishment should be able to provide more care outside of wellness visits. To provide complete disclosure, I did in fact take him to an emergency vet less than 8 hrs from leaving this “animal hospital” and my dog was critical and passed. Super subpar care was given at BHAH but hey they at least got to close at noon

My cat was put down a couple weeks ago and were very kind and helpful with this hard time. They also aren't the kind of people that are gonna try to get you to spend money on silly products to "help" your animal. They are very logical. My car was 13 and had a lung mass and we could have spent so much money to have a chance of helping him but since he was so old they knew that the best choice was to put him down. We took his brother to then because we wanted to make sure he didn't get sick either and they gave him a few shots which cane out surprisingly very cheep for a vet trip. We plan to take our new 8 week old kitten and I'm sure they will be just as helpful with him as well.

Thursday, April 3rd., my baby girl Lucy had to be put to sleep. She was 14 and a half years old, yellow Lab/Retriever. The people at Brooke Hills Animal Hospital were very kind and supportive during this difficult time. They allowed us time with Lucy before putting her to sleep and after putting her to sleep. They were there to answer all my questions. I recommend them highly. <3 Daniel A. Nielsen

I am super pissed at BHAH right now. It was okay back in the day when Dr. Sanford still worked there but the people who work there now are worthless and they shouldn't be pretending to know what they're doing. I'm 35, and my family has been taking our animals there for almost 30 years. We have spent THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of dollars in veterinary care between all of our pets over the years. I'm sure we have probably paid for at least one wing of Dr. Sanford's vacation home... well anyway fast forward to 2010. I was blessed with a beautiful, SPECIAL pit bull puppy. I have bonded with this dog more than any other living being on the planet. She means the world to me. And she really is special. I really went all out learning how to train dogs when I got her, and the results still blow my mind to this day. She is a champion level frisbee player, and the smartest dog I've ever met, being able to recognize and respond to over 200(and counting) words and phrases... but unfortunately, since she was 6 months old she has had some pretty severe allergy problems and battled constantly recurring yeast infections in her ears making her very, very uncomfortable. As you can imagine, this breaks my heart. So upon my very first visit to BHAH to remedy this situation, we started into a vicious cycle that lasted the next 7 years. First of all, the staff(not including Dr. Sanford) has always treated her like s***, probably because she is a pit bull and unfortunately the best breed on the planet carries a negative stigma due to unfair and concentrated media coverage. However, in my opinion, if you are afraid of a certain breed, any breed, you should not be working in a veterinary setting. From her very first visit, the vet on duty recommended changing dog food brands and switching to something that didnt contain wheat and they recommended a brand of food that I now know is absolute garbage. Then they proceeded to prescribe her prednisone and told me to give it to her when her skin appeared red and extra itchy. Well, that was everyday. And the brand of food they suggested I switch to seemed to make things worse. They also prescribed mometimax so I could put drops in her ears. This began the cruel and inhumane cycle that lasted 7 years. At this time I had no reason not to trust their advice as Dr. Sanford himself had always provided excellent care to all of our pets that he examined over the years. Unfortunately for my beautiful baby girl, i had assumed that all of the other veterinarians and vet techs were as helpful as Dr. Sanford. So, after repeated return trips to BHAH for the same issue that was never corrected, the vets started to warn me not to give her the prednisone unless I absolutely had to because it's very hard on a dogs body. Which I already knew because the same holds true for humans. They ended up allowing me to refill her prescriptions as often as I needed to without bringing her in for a visit every time. However, at least once or twice per year they would tell me that they would not refill her prescription again without a visit. The only logical reason I can determine for this is so that they could give her a bunch of unnecessary vaccinations and charge me a couple hundred dollars. I played along not knowing any better for years. Eventually, when she was about 4-5 years old I had cut her back on the prednisone because I was afraid of the consequences of prolonged use and would only refill her prescriptions once or twice per year. At one point they said they could refer me to a veterinary specialist in Pittsburgh for a full-on allergy test but that it would be quite expensive. I'm not a rich man, and unfortunately that option ended up being cost-prohibitive and I was unable to ever follow through with that option... so fast forward again to 2017. My girlfriend had me take her German shepherd to the vet she had frequented over the years with her pets, the Cadiz Animal Clinic in Cadiz Ohio. Her shepherd had an issue in which his ears were unusually itchy and irritated... will continue in a new post.

They take good care of my pets. Communication with the various doctors leaves room for improvement. Reasonably priced compared to other local vets.
