One of the best chili dogs in West Virginia! Small town with small town charm and hospitality. You can get the chili dog, fries, custard and then get a container to take home the chili! This place is a must stop if you are near Webster Springs.

While the food is great and people are friendly, the service seems to be extremely slow. Maybe it's because I lived most of my life in larger, faster paced areas. But it shouldn't take 10 to 15 minutes to complete one order. Regardless, I'll most definitely be back. It wouldn't be a trip back to my roots without stopping and enjoying their food.

One of the few places to eat in Webster Springs. Very friendly staff and centrally located in this small town. Not very vegetarian friendly but there are a couple of options including pizza bread and iceberg lettuce salad. They are know for their hot dog chili sauce.

Thick and creamy soft serve ice cream. They have many flavors to choose from. I went with a traditional twist of vanilla and chocolate. It was just the thing to end our Sunday drive into the mountains. My husband opted for a special flavor and got peanut butter ice cream. Although it wasn’t impressive to look at, it was made with real peanut butter it was delicious!

As always, the food was delicious! I always stop here with my students and grab a special ice cream treat on our way to Camp Valley Vista! They have so many flavors of ice cream that even the pickiest eater can find something! I didn't have kids with me this time, but we always stop. I only wish they were open on Sundays when we return from camp!Parking: It was rather confusing to find parking. There are signs which direct you to a parking lot across the street, but I may have found the wrong parking lot as that one had signs that it was only for a different business.Kid-friendliness: It's a little cold, as all ice cream shops are, so you may want to make sure your kids have a sweater. There is a lot of open space for kids to walk around and stretch after a long car ride. The staff was friendly and has always been patient with students who can't decide. I didn't bring any students with me last time I was there but we do stop every time we go through there and they're open!Wheelchair accessibility: The entire restaurant is wheelchair accessible. It might be a little tricky to get into the restroom. I am not in a wheelchair myself, but that's the only place that looks like it might be tricky.

I've been stopping for hotdogs at this place since I was a little kid. It had been a while since I'd been in the area, but yesterday my fiancé and I stopped here and it was just as amazing as it always has been! The new (to me) location is very convenient, has ample parking, and it looks great inside! Service was quick and friendly and the food was amazing. It was so nice to sit down and share such a great, meaningful, nostalgia with my fiancé - he actually proposed to me that same day! It was an awesome experience to say the least. No pictures because we devoured our food too quickly!

Great hotdogs! My wife and I stopped here on our way home from Snowshoe. The restaurant was very clean with nice seating and tables. The food was fresh and the bathrooms were clean. Staff was also polite and friendly. Will gladly visit again!

Not ad good as I expected. They pride their company on n the hotdog sauce and give you like a spoonful, 20-25 minute wait at minimum everytime, unfriendly workers. Could be an awesome place for such a desolate town especially since the surroundings are beautiful. Idk I've went their twice and my family has also and just never a great experience and its kinda expensive for the quality of food and atmosphere they present. Maybe me and my family have only been there on a full moon, hope you have a better experience.

Place is empty on a weekday lunch, after eating we placed dessert orders to go and still takes 15+ minutes for someone to just make a milkshake, all while watching other folk walk up place order after ours, get fulfilled and walk away before even starting ours.Chili dogs are seriously lack luster, even paid the extra for the "american beef dog"--any gas station, stadium vendors hotdog cart, hell even skyline would be better.

It's okay. The hot dog chili doesn't have enough of a spice profile for my taste. Prices a bit steep for what you actually get. Not bad, not great either.

Delicious food. Hot dogs were really good, as well as the fries. Had a chili dog with onions and a chili dog with cooked peppers. Mm-mm good. Then, soft serve ice cream. 24 flavor choices and serving styles. Something for everyone. Worth the stop.

I love this place and the town is in. I so badly want to live there in Webster springs. More like in Burgoo. But either place makes your heart feel full of happiness. It takes you back to the way things used to be.

The chili is worthy of the hype. One of the top hot dogs I've eaten, and I come from a small town in southern Virginia that loves its hot dogs! Also, fries were crispy and root beer float hit the spot. I was also happy to see wide-ranging COVID precautions being taken.

The employees all stay in the back laughing. Had to ring bell to get anyone to help. More than once. They messed up on my order I wanted 2 hot dogs with everything and 2 with just chilling and slaw. We got 4 with everything. Good thing I wasn’t allergic to mustard. I have been going to the custard stand every time we are in town. Even when it was at the other location. We was very disappointed and embarrassed to say that it was my home town.

Love this place. It's where I go when I go out to eat. Cleanest, quickest, best tasting restaurant in town.Main complaint in the area is prices at the Custard Stand... Let me just say, I'm a Webster County native— Born and raised, and yes: It is more expensive than anywhere else in town(about 1.25 to 1.5x depending on what you get), but there's a reason for that here:Everyone else drops prices in order to keep people coming back, and that's because everywhere else in town pales in comparison due to extreme low quality service. You get what you pay for here. They have a standard they have to meet, and they settle for nothing less.In short:If you're visiting Webster Springs and are looking for a place to eat, go to the Custard Stand. Anywhere else is a waste of money. Also, should note that if you're coming from out of state, the Custard Stand isn't expensive. It's average price for other areas, just not here.

Awesome old fashioned shake and chili dog Shoppe! I have always loved the custard stand chilli since I was a child, but I am so happy that they moved to this new location, and from the dozens of people who came while I enjoyed lunch, I'm not alone in enjoying the more convenient location. The place was busy, but it's large enough that it never got crowded, the place has a good energy that keeps you full long after the delicious chili dogs and shakes!!
