There are two major issues with Rainbowhead Farms. 1. Accessibility 2. Availability- I had the same experience as April and other reviewers. I spoke with Mike at 12:30 pm and let him know I was going to be there in about an hour and half because I live 50 miles away. He said he would be there until 4:00 pm. I packed my cooler and aeration system in my truck and drove straight there. It took exactly an hour and half. When I got there, I could not find anyone to assist me. I drove out to a small cemetery just past the turn to the farm to get reception. I then called Mike 5 times with no answer. I waited 30 mins and then called again. No answer. After that, I left. The roads to the farm are the worst in WV. Basically the final stretch is a goat path with well trucks and gas rigs everywhere. I wouldn’t take anything nice anywhere near here. I wish I would have known before leaving, as I would have taken my farm truck. I really wanted to do business with a fellow WV business owner and farmer. But I will stick with Marlow’s. The roads are great getting to Marlow’s and they are always super responsive. They just did not have the Koi we were looking for. Marlow’s is also gorgeous! A much better place to get your fish. Most of all, Marlow’s would never leave with a 3 hour drive, wasted fuel, and nothing but major disappointment. Please avoid Rainbowhead.

Virginia Tech's Freshwater Mussel Lab is incredibly impressed with the service and quality of the fish we received. We ordered 150 largemouth bass at the 7-9 inch range to aid in our freshwater mussel propagation. Not only did we obtain all 150 fish, but the fish received were high quality and healthy. We've been using Rainbowhead Farms for a few years now and have never had any issues. Thank you so much Mike and crew!

If you are looking for koi this gut has them. He was very nice and took us all around his farm to show us what we could get. He was super nice and we ended up with several fish from 6 to 8 inches long to fish over 5 pounds. Highly recommend. And trust me for what you pay at a pet store you can get twice the size.

Disappointed... I understand especially right now times are very tough and arguably difficult. Mike seems very knowledgable and they seem to have a good product. Their facility seems well eqiupped to accommodate all types personal projects, however the lack of professional and attention to other people's time leaves a bitter taste. I don't want to hang my review on one bad day especially in a very rough time in this state, but I would have expected a little more (one phone call) given all the good things I was told before contacting Rainbowhead Farms.

This place is a joke called to see about buying some koi , they never answer the phone finally got someone on the phone he was very nice said any day Monday thru Friday 8-4 just let them know before coming so that they know you are coming. Finally got a free day to go and call and mike answered the phone just to say no he couldn’t do it (on a Wednesday) and had no care that he just lost business. What a waste of time, finding somewhere else to buy fish won’t be easy but hopefully it’ll be more professional and care about customers!

Contacted them in March 2019 to have my pond stocked. They said my fish would be ready in about a month and I would be put on the schedule. Reached out to them 5 weeks later, then 2 weeks later, then 2 weeks later, then a week later. Called the provided phone number, left messages, sent emails and was never contacted back. 4 months later, still nothing.

It was my birthday and we showed up unannounced and Mike was amazing, he answered our questions now matter how silly they may have seemed. Very amazing gentleman!! Also his fish are absolutely stunning!
