I don't think we'll be donating anymore to the Ohio County Animal Shelter in Triadelphia located here in the Ohio Valley. We took in a case of canned cat food only one person there said thank you, they seemed kind of ungrateful and unfriendly. I mean, they could have at least said hey that's great for helping I don't know maybe I'm asking for too much. But when people give, and they don't have much to start with just a thanks is suffice enough. We've donated hundreds and hundreds of dollars and adopted several cats. Never again what you said for the animals but I'm not going to subject ourselves and our family to them again

Thank you for our wonderful 2021 dog Ladybug, our 2019 kittens Neeko and Leo, and our 2010 adult rescues Peanut and Rascal delivered by Sant. We have always found them easy to work and helpful. We played with a lot of their cats before we committed to ours. ❤️

THEY CALLED THE COPS ON ME FOR KNOCKING ON THE DOOR DURING BUSINESS HOURS. I would give 0 stars if possible. They had the door locked during their listed hours, so naturally I knocked. The lights were on and cars were parked in the lot. I called, and no one answered the phone. I waited for about 15 mins. Called a few more times. Tapped on my horn twice. Eventually, I gave up and started looking online for other places to go. As I was doing this, sitting in my car, the POLICE SHOWED UP! Multiple sheriffs and the Dog wardens. They informed me that the shelter called in and said someone was “banging on the door” and “wearing a ski mask” and “blaring the horn” “like they were going to rob the place.” (None of which makes any logical sense..) The police obviously laughed it off once I explained the situation and the dog warden apologized on the girl’s behalf. (She was hiding in the shelter still)This behavior is completely unprofessional and not to mention criminal considering they lied to the authorities. I can’t think of many reasons to call the cops for someone trying to visit the animal shelter during the listed hours of operation, but I will say that having brown skin in West Virginia will get you in situations such as this more often than it should.

The facility does good things for animals when it's required of them, but that dog warden is one of the, if not the most disrespectful public servants I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. He lacks the ability to talk to another person with and sort of kindness or concern for them or any animal that they may be concerned about. Seems like he hates his job.

I've adopted several pets from them over the years,and found them very helpful and adoption fees very reasonable unlike other county and private adoption shelters,our latest addition was a grey tabby cat that my little dog loves,in fact I was permitted to bring her to the shelter to see how she and cats got along ,and it was love at first sight for her and whiskers, I will always go here first when adding a fur baby to my family

I came to this shelter looking to adopt but was turned down because we had out of state driver's licenses and was new to the area. We are a very loving family who was willing to save a life and very financially able to take on any dog they had. Now I could be wrong but I don't think turning people like us down is ever a good ideal 😞

i waited there for 2 hours and they didn’t open and the guy who opened the door was completely ignorant terrible service never going there again they are sitting around for hours doing nothing but being on there phones never again will i be going there.

They lie to people to get you to adopt animals for MONEY which is wrong as can be to do. They told us this dog we adopted was excellent with children well NOPE she wasnt cuz she bit me several times and bit 2 of our kids. Always growling at everyone except the two males in the home. Not very friendly with kids at all

Animal shelter is trash and will send animals with anyone. They will force them into you and won't even get to know the type of person before letting you adopt. They are the worst animal shelter in the valley. They are only in it for money!

We got our first baby when she was a definite be killed dog.(she lived a year on the streets,she was,and at times is a little crazy,because of her start in life guess.)a year old when I adopted my baby girl! She's my sweetie pie pie. Autumn star is her name,aka, Boo! A year later we adopted 13 week old Maxwell Smart. Aka/ putszy! The best fur kids in the world!😁 I wish I could take home every animal needing a perfect human family! Still hoping to have a pot bellied pig. Anywho,thank God for Ohio County Animal Shelter! I have now a 13 and 11 years old babies. I lost my only son in 1993. These fur babies are my only children. They saved me as much as I saved them. We are definitely a family! I have always given despite my income to charities. Children's hospitals for my lost son,but I want to help animals as well. They change and can improve our lives! I pray people will adopt! And recommend Dr. Yurko. At KEY animal hospital for a Vet. Thank you Ohio County Animal Shelter for letting me adopt my wonderful babies! I want to donate and help your cause as well!

Anti-gun establishment. Walked in open carrying to adopt 2 animals, within the first few moments was asked to leave the firearm in the car. No thank you, I value my safety, 2nd amendment, and society's safety too much to do this. Went elsewhere to a more 2nd amendment friendly zone.

Oblivious while driving. Was just almost ran off the road because the driver of the humane officer vehicle wasn't paying attention or using turn signals. Unprofessional and just out right stupid.

Possibly THE worst experience I have ever had at an animal shelter... the workers are lazy and not very informative. Not sure if it was just a bad day or what but they weren't friendly either.
