I found High Ground Brewing while on a drive just exploring the area. I didn't originally plan to stop in Terra Alta, but then I saw the sign for High Ground Brewing and decided to check it out. It was such a memorable experience. I wish I had written this review sooner because I wish I could name drop the guy behind the bar that served us. You could tell he was invested in the brewery because he was so passionate about the beer they serve. I mean you know it's good when he says, "I'm going to make you try an IPA" after you say you don't like IPAs. Everything he gave me was excellent. I absolutely love this place. I highly recommend High Ground Brewing if you haven't been here yet. I will certainly be back the next time I'm in the area!

This is a great local place that seems to keep the small towns around the area alive. They have great beers and everyone were having a great time even in the rain. Many dogs there and a nice closed patio area. There was a small event going on with local venders/businesses and a food place. You must stop in if in the area. We loved the SuperSoftBirthdayParty, great beer and hilarious name/can art.

This is a great spot. We stayed here overnight in our travel trailer as part of the Harvest Hosts network and we had a great experience. The service was terrific and they offer some really good beer. If you are passing through the area you should make it a point to stop. If you’re a local I’m sure you already know about it!

Great spot with plenty of seating inside and out. Beer selection is top notch as always and offers 1/2 pours and flights to give you options to try more of their beer menu. Have been buying their cans for awhile and finally made to drive over to the brewery.

Whenever we travel, we search out local breweries. This was a jackpot. Mitchell behind the bar was very knowledgeable about all the beers on tap, as well as local meads and ciders that they serve. He was also helpful regarding the surrounding area. Definitely stop in when in the area. Schwarzbier and the Porter were excellent.

We went to breweries in Thomas and Davis and decided to come up here as well. This was my favorite stop of the day! Bartender was super friendly and had all kinds of recommendations. I imagine it would be really nice in the summer with all the outdoor seating open. Will definitely be back!

Great brewery. Lots of outside seating. LMostly IPA crafts. Marzen was really good! Cool location. Wish we lived closer to visit more often. We were staying in Deep Creek, it's not a bad drive to get there. Definitely off the beaten path. Wish this brewery well.

Nice brewery with lots of outdoor seating. Family and pet friendly. The beers were good and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable able the beers and the area. We took some cans to-go.

This was my first time going to this Brewery. I was impressed with the beer! I had tried all the IPA's. They were all very smooth and crisp. Prices were also great. Atmosphere is very laid back and dog friendly, which is awesome. I Will definitely stop back anytime I'm back in Terra Alta. Live music was also great last Friday!

The building is fantastic. They had a lunch truck there with wraps and they were amazing! Staff was super friendly and THE VEER WAS DELICIOUS! I usually don't even like IPAs and they had an great one. Definitely check out Mow Rider and Weird Science. I'll be back!

We headed to this brewery after a quick hike through the Rock Maze Trail on a cold cloudy winter day. The brewery has a very accommodating interior, a welcoming staff, and very friendly patrons and dogs. The bartender was prompt with service, had great product knowledge and was a great conversationalist. The beer was top notch, and half pours allowed us to try more brews.

This is some of the best beer I've ever had. Their staple New England IPA "Druid Fluid" is perfect. I've never had a bad offering from these guys. If you're in Deep Creek, make the short drive over here and try everything.

Always great to visit this place. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. The beer is always good, even with their seasonal brews. Small bar, few food items but the pep roll is a must try! And their music selection is always on point.

Worth the drive from Deep Creek Lake! 4 IPA's on tap to chose from and they were all delicious. This is not just "another local brewery," I was really impressed with the beer. Druid Fluid was my favorite, but the others I sampled were great, too. Hot dogs were tasty, but I wish I had known about Thursday wing night, I would have come a day earlier. I'll definitely make the drive again next time I am up that way. Super nice people, too, they broke into the secret icy pop stash to keep the kids quiet while dad enjoyed his beer. :)

My wife and I enjoy checking out breweries when we are out and about, so while we were vacationing in the deep creek area, we decided to check out this brewery based on the customer reviews.I have to say that this is hands down the best brewery that I have been to yet. I enjoy trying out the most unique beers I can at each brewery I visit, so I picked ones off their menu which I found the most unique. These are absolutely the BEST BEERS I have tasted!! Every one had such a unique and refreshing flavor. I think this is the first brewery I have been too where if they say that the beers have this flavor and that flavor in them, surely enough, you can taste those flavors coming through.I was shocked that such a small place off a gravel road in the hills of WV could have such great tasting brews. My wife also tried one of their meads, and yet again, she commented that this was the most unique, fresh, and true tasting mead she has ever had.If you find yourself around the deep creek or surrounding area and enjoy checking out local breweries, do yourself a favor and stop here!! Simply amazing.

Great spot, incredible beer, fantastic staff. This place is special, it's worth the trip if you're anywhere nearby. All the beer was on point. I'll be back, most likely again this week and certainly for my annual DCL visit. The BBA Valley Furnace is worth the trip alone! Well played High Ground... Well played...

Beer is excellent! Brewer is nice guy. Going down the alley to get there looks kinda sketch, but place is really nice, beer is great and prices are way better than most breweries.

Great beer and sweet setup with the food truck and music. Indoor and outdoor space with corn hole. All their beers are excellent for being a newer brewery. Kid friendly and board games to play in a relaxed atmosphere. Proper growler fills with CO2 purge so the beer keeps longer. Can’t wait to see what else they have in the future.
