If I could give it no stars I would the place was absolutely gross. Waited at the door for a while while some young girl screamed door over and over instead of greeting us. Went to the restroom where there was poop everywhere 🤮 that instantly turned my stomach definitely don't recommend going here especially with your small children.

It was one of the worst experiences with the bar foodBar had a scoop of old spg noodles hard dried out... never any bread put out. The cabbage soup barely had any broth on it. It cooked down so bad. The potato soup was just yucky looking and pasty. Only meat was chicken and some loose hamburger meat. There was a spot for fish but it was empty till she put like 6 peices in there. So basically the salad part of the bar was a big hit. It was full and stocked and everything looked fresh.I worked at shoneys for 10 years and traveled to many. This was the worst as far as the Bar was concerned. Server was really great. She was the only one working because they was short staff for the evening.Come on shoneys put some pride back in your food....

After leaving this place, I had the opportunity to reflect on my life's decisions while on a toilet about an hour away at a rest stop. (My apologies to the brave men and women who care for the restrooms here.) I was served something that I did not quite recognize. I did eat some of the potatoes and a nasty biscuit and some weird bacon. But as for the eggs over easy, I decided to choose life, instead.

Didn’t get a waitress. Asked someone behind the wall to give us some utensils and that lady nicely brought us beverages and utensils. She apologized but no one ever came to our table to see if we needed refills or a menu. We ate from the bar. They need a major redo on the furniture and cleaning. I had not eaten there for years and won’t again

The food was nasty, it was dired out and on the bottom of the pans, the lettuce was bitter , the croutons were very stale and hard as rocks. The chicken was hard and tasted like sawdust, our table was never cleared off the only time we saw the waitress was when she brought us our drinks, she didn't even check on us to bring refills, I had to try and find the waitress so we could get our bill, the 2 waitresses were flirting with the male Cook. Very inappropriate, I would not recommend to ever go to this place , as I was disappointed , with the food and service, definitely not worth the money. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.

Great place to eat. The location is very easily accessible and located in the mall area with access from the parking lot or inside the mall. The facility and bathrooms were very nice and clean. We only ate breakfast here (2x) and it was very delicious. The bar was kept full with all foods and was tended to constantly. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful with any needs. I am definitely going back when in the area and will recommend this location to all my friends. Thanks.

For starters, they have not returned to a full menu. Which is not stated anywhere until you sit down. I assume after COVID. They have 5 sandwhiches they offer that the server verbally lists for you but does not give a description. They do offer a food bar that is subpar, and nowhere was the price listed or mentioned. I did notice on the way out among all the Valentine's Day decorations that there was a handwritten board that did have the 5 sandwiches listed on it. But nowhere did it state that this is all that would be offered. I had to chase down the server to order dessert. No dessert was ever offered before she placed our ticket on the table.My husband got dessert off the bar, and the cupcake was so hard you could have used it as a hammer.We stood at the cash register for a good 5 minutes with no one addressing us but just standing back in the kitchen-server area . Finally, a lady came from out of nowhere to take our money.We will not ever return!!

Only has a salad buffet. There is no menu. If you don't want the buffet, which was very small, then there are 5 sandwiches they can make you. Online it showed a full menu with omelets, which is what we wanted. We were already off the road, so we ordered turkey clubs that came with fries. They were alright but the bottom of the sandwiches were burned.

The server was very nice. The food was good ( for what was there). However, we had dirty spoons and dishes. I informed the the cashier about this but she never offered to take anything off my bill. I had 3 seniors with me because it was my parents 40th wedding anniversary. The senior discount was only like 50 cents per senior, which I thought was disgraceful.

The server was very pleasant, even though the rest was down hill from there! First I must’ve searched through six plates before I found a clean one, then the food was not hot, just warm but got cold by the time you sat down, the food was at best, mediocre, and before leaving, the bathroom was atrocious! The stalls were horrible. One toilet was not flushed (not sure if it was clogged or not, but the only other stall was covered in urine on the floor, and the soap was watered down! Also, the hand sanitizer at the register was empty, and the front doors were covered in fingerprints at 9:30 am! I’ll never stop at Shoney’s in Summersville, WV again! Very sad as this place was one of our usual stops heading south for breakfast. Maybe new management???, or at least needs new management! ☹️

Really nice staff and good food. Have tried their breakfast and salad bar a few times and have not been disappointed. Fresh fruit and fresh veggies and lots of breakfast options. Have not tried lunch or dinner but we will soon.Vegetarian options: Has a salad bar with lots of veggies and some fruits.

We had been driving for some time, and it was lunch, so we thought to stop here. Walked in and the seats were torn and taped and the whole restaurant was very, very dated. Sat down, and a friendly waitress finally stopped by. She stated you can have the buffet (quite large), but we just wanted a sandwich. She said there were 4 items we could choose from (nothing off the menu). One item we all ordered and then were told, they no longer had it. We ordered 3 chicken sandwiches and a Philly cheese steak. 25 minutes later, we received our food. The chicken was so tough that you had to use your knife to cut it or pull it apart with fingers. Also, it was very small. The Philly was palatable. Could not wait to get out of there. The bathroom was not good as well. The overall experience was very unsatisfactory, and I don't think I will ever go to a Shoneys again

What a great place!The buffet was awesome!! The food was delicious!! The staff was very friendly and helpful! Our waitress was great and brought us a huge slice of their famous strawberry pie for my grandsons to try....it disappeared quick!!She also suggested local favorite adventures and we wound up at New River Gorge!! Great gift shop and gorgeous scenery! The cashier was awesome!!

My family and I drive up to this shoney's from Oak Hill quite often. It is magical how they have preserved 1996 just as I remember as a child. Stepping into this restaurant is a time capsule. The staff works amazingly hard to keep it clean and presentable. Our waitress was Alisha, and she is a national treasure and should be defended at all costs.

Food was lukewarm and bland, drinks tasted like dirty dishwater. Was offered cheesecake but not told it was a seperate charge from the buffet until we got the receipt. On the plus side, I did get a couple good photos.
