Massive store! So many cool things you can find here, and a wide variety as well. Such a good time just to walk around and look at all the cool antiques and hardware. Even the bathroom is an antique! We got some very nice hardware- hooks, shelf brackets, and a rug, all reasonably priced. Staff was super friendly, star of the store is of course Murphy, the friendly cat. Looking forward to coming back!

Adorable store with a wonderful atmosphere. It was decorated for Christmas and had made in America ornaments and various other holiday items. Wonderful handmade items for sale. Just to walk through is like a journey back in time.

O'Hurley's General Store is always a great stop to find something new and fun. Once you say hi to the shop cat Murphy, you can explore a great collection of toys, jewelry, furniture, artwork, books, and so much more! We always find something new when we visit. On Thursdays they have a jam in the back room. A great stop when you're in the area looking for a unique store.

If you’re ever in Shepherdstown, step back in time shopping in this cool old country store. They sell a little bit of everything, so much to see in here and they have a pot belly stove in one room & large wood burning fireplace in the other—smells so good. This place makes you feel like you’re in the 1800s. As we were shopping, the train went by a few times while we were there, loved it!

You've got to stop here!!!!!! The most legit general store I've ever visited. Murphy the cat is fun, until he doesn't like your pets anymore 😂 watch out! The jewelry is from the UK and the hats are from Ireland. I've been to a Celtic festival that sold these items from China 🙄 very cool to have these items imported. There were jams, butters, candles, hardware, hats, shirts, etc. The owner was apparently born upstairs. He is now 82yrs old and was outside digging a hole!!! A really cool experience and I found my dream living room.

This place is bigger than it looks. Lots of fun stuff inside. Great place to stop for gifts to take home to friends & family, or to pick up something fun for yourself. They have a little bit of everything.

BEST small- town store EVER! Kind service and the type of place you could spend hours exploring. You can get a gift for everyone on your list in a shop that's been open for nearly 100 years! LOVE this one of a kind special store. ❤️

This little shop on the outside of Shepherdstown is like entering a different world. It's one part hardware store, one part toys, another part crafts, and one more part odds and ends. The people are just as charming as the atmosphere inside. The outside is quaint and blue, which is good because just like a blue TARDIS is a lot bigger on the inside. If you don't know what you are looking for, odds are you can find it here

A little piece of heaven in West Virginia. So sorry to lose Jay who created this amazing space. It wasn't just a mercantile shop, it's a community gathering space, a haven for artists and musicians, a nurturing winter respite that just gives and gives. Praying it stays alive and well for many years to come.

Shepherdstown hidden gem! Must see it all decked out for Christmas. Hot cider out of the massive fireplace. The staff is amazing. We stop in every time we go to Harpers Ferry. Only a 10 minute drive.

O'Hurley's General Store is a wonderful find! They sell everything from clothes to drawer pulls to potions and lotions. On Thursday nights, they host local musicians for a jam session.

What a wonderful and magical place! They have a lot of local crafts and fun knickknacks. The store itself is just a joy to walk around. Be sure to go in the back left of the counter when you enter!

Surprisingly interesting store with a wide choice of antique, handcrafted, eclectic goods, from unique kids toys and games, kitchen and grilling items, wind chimes, textiles, books, jewelry, candles and holders, leather, bells, cards -- back room, more than you can imagine from the outside. Oh, and incense burning and home grown music playing. So friendly! Owner and cashier discussing solutions for driving moles off your property (castor oil and Dawn detergent mix). Scant parking. Worth the visit.

Don't let their humble store front fool you. O'Hurleys is a surprising gem. I was passing through...killing time. I looked up top things to do in Shepardstown. I pulled up. Really?? But I couldn't believe all the cool things inside. A variety of interesting finds, eclectic items, and unique gifts. Quality stuff, some from around the world. For music lovers the back room sports antique instruments and on Thurs nights they put on a music jam around a cozy fireplace. I can't wait to go back!

Wonderful shop. As a lot of the other reviews have mentioned, it feels straight out of a previous era. The inside is a lot larger than is apparent from the front of the store and the photos posted in other reviews. Pricing is generally quite low (especially for a small town store offering mostly homemade goods), although some items seemed a bit expensive. Parking is limited, but there is still plenty for most days (I imagine it might fill up on the Thursday music nights). Friendly staff, a large selection of goods, and very nice atmosphere. Hope to be back!

If you get within 50 miles of this place, check it out! It's like a free museum but some of it's for sale. Items you'll find no where else and the decoration is perfect! Wandered around for half an hour or so enjoying every minute of it. Super nice people too.

A step back in time when life was simpler. Heated by a potbellied stove, we were greeted with a warm smile and interesting tidbits of history here. Built 120+ years ago and in the current family's possession for the last 90, O'Hurley's is truly a gem worth stopping for.As a general store, they have one of everything here. From candy to hardware. Various antique items decorate the walls and are probably held up with some of the nails and hooks for sale.Grab yourself a hat, enjoy the fine bluegrass music playing in the back and pickup a CD of the local group that meets there Thursday evenings.

This place has a little bit of everything. My favorite items were the iron work and the preserves. My girlfriend liked the candles, the sealing wax and seals plus the Amish chairs in the great room in back. The front room is cool but the two back rooms are outstanding. The owner is a good sort, very knowledgeable. Well worth a visit!
