We stayed in the area, trying different local restaurants for three days on an anniversary trip - Maria's was definitely one of our favorite finds! The vibe is chill and cozy, without being too over the top. We brought our 11 month old with us, and the staff were so kind and friendly to her! She was all smiles the whole time. The staff member that took our order was very helpful in answering our questions and giving recommendations. I asked how the plantains were cooked to find out if they were appropriate for our baby, and he explained it well. She loved them, and so did we! The dip that came with them was amazing - my husband was not sure of he would like plantains and he really liked them! I got the three traditional tacos, which were delicious. They definitely didn't skimp on the fillings, including the chicken. My husband enjoyed his burrito, and the chips and fresh salsa were good, too. They have booster seats that can be added to any chair or booth, and there was enough space for our umbrella stroller. The bathrooms were tiny, but functional. There are two individual all gender bathrooms. I didn't see any baby changing table, but I only used one of the bathrooms. Overall, if we lived in the area, we know we would be back to Maria's often!Kid-friendliness: There were booster seats that can be attached to any chair or booth. Space for umbrella stroller. Staff were very kind and friendly to our baby. We felt welcome. Unsure if there is a changing table, as bathrooms are pretty small. The one I used did not have a changing table.

This lovely place is nice and quaint, at least while we were here. The food came out in less than 5 minutes, please take into consideration that there was 3 or 4 other people in the restaurant at this time. The nachos were really good, and for $10.50 I have 2 meals it was so big. My boyfriend got the 3 tacos meal and liked them so much he ordered some more to go. Would definitely visit again if down this way.

We were in the area visiting Harpers Ferry and were looking for a place to eat. We stumbled upon this place just a short drive away and decided to stop. It's a great little restaurant with a warm and welcoming vibe. The cashier was super friendly and our meals were made quickly. I had their fish tacos. I cannot recommend them enough! The sauce was excellent and the added crunch from the carrots and cabbage made the dish delicious! I highly recommend you stop here for a bite if you're in the area!

What an adorable place! Quaint, colorfully decorated with upbeat music and a few regulars enjoying the atmosphere (always a good sign). Ordered at the counter, very friendly staff! Food was ready quickly. All super fresh & delicious!I had the Maria Jane special with beef. A customer jist walked past, asked what i was eating & ordered it 🤣🤣🤣 it looks that good!

Lunched here June 19, 2023. Staff is hospitable and service is excellent. Food was fantastic. Great, relaxed atmosphere. Business was very brisk compared to other places in town, which tells me this is a popular restaurant.Kid-friendliness: I saw several families with children enjoying this restaurant.

What a great lunch. My husband and I had the chips and queso, fish tacos and traditional tacos and everything was delish! The place was clean and cool and the staff was so friendly! We will def be back!

This place was a cute find. It has a cute decor and seating area. You walk up to the counter and place your order. The menu is behind the cashier and food of the day on the side wall.We got a burrito and beef tacos. My husband liked his burrito, it was big with tons of cheese on top. I ordered the beef tacos, I had thought it would’ve had strips of beef. Instead my tacos was ground beef and I wasn’t a fan. The flavor was good but ground beef for tacos, I was not too sure about it. All in all not a bad place for a small bite.

Underwhelming. The salsa was good (although they charge you for the chips and the salsa individually) but the guacamole tasted like it came from a squeeze-tube and the vegan burrito lacked any flavor. It was bustling when I visited so obviously they are doing something right, but overall, it just wasn’t for me as someone who prefers a more authentic experience/taste…Noteworthy: The staff were very friendly.

Very good for fish tacos. Solid portion size, light and tasty flavours. Very good service. One half star less if I could be that precise, because the chicken tacos not quite as good but I would definitely come here again for fish tacos.

Not going to lie I am a little surprised with all these great reviews about this place. This place is trully below average. Ordered fish tacos, which was fried initially, but texture was like it's microwaved when served. Queso is like packaged Tostitos Queso(hella good, but really? This is a restaurant) . Rice in the burrito was like sticky sushi rice. It's a fine atmosphere, but kitchen needs some attention. Also, like you serve alcohol, but no margaritas? Seriously?

This is a covid 19 takeout review. All food is eaten fresh in the vehicle. I found this place in two different articles. Best tacos in every state. And best burritos in every state. And they earned those designations in my book. I had three tacos, beef, pork, and chicken. All three were excellent. I also had the chicken chimi. I loved it. Beautiful pulled chicken and lots of it. Great flavor. Great presentation. Great meal. And great people working the front. On a scale from 0-10 I would rate this 9.3.

This place is so cool! It's a cute, stylish and trendy establishment, in a quaint little town. The food is always excellent. They give you large portions of anything you order. We love stopping in for a bite to eat while enjoying a motorcycle ride around the local countryside.

We were looking for a good taco place, so we decided to give Maria's a try. We had lunch here and we liked it. The food was better than we expected. Nice presentations on all plates and the flavor was outsatnding. Great customer service. The place was nicely decorated and we'll kept. Highly recommend it. Nice addition to the Shepherdstown community.

What a great atmosphere! The food is fantastic! The Chimi has the most amazing flaky wrap and the queso really ties it all together. The fish tacos are the best I have ever had! No joke. If you are in Shepherdstown, skip the chain restaurants and hit this place up. You will not be disappointed!

I'm not one for Mexican food, but my wife is and she has always raved about this place. We have a niece who visits once or twicea year and here is always on her list oh places to go when she's in. On my recent trip with them I discovered the chimichanga which I got with chicken and only queso. It's very good and I have something there for me now.

Ended up here by happenstance and I'm so glad we stayed for lunch! The service is fast and friendly. The food is super fresh and flavorful! I had a Taco Salad with Chicken and my son had 2 Kids Beef Tacos. We shared the Fried Plantains which were AMAZING!!! Definitely make a stop here...you'll be glad you did!

Pros: Food is excellent (high quality ingredients and preparation); quick & friendly service; great atmosphere (best art I've seen in a Mexican restaurant, and I've been to many). Cons: Limited seating, some nights they have music which likely further impact seating availability; prices may seem high to some (we felt the prices were fair given the quality and portion size).I ordered a Chicken Chimichanga, and it was completely full of just chicken, no rice or bean fillers. Overall, we feel it is definitely worth checking out if in the Shepherdstown area. I know we'd return without hesitation.
