Very competitive prices, reasonably good quality on the produce despite slightly reduced total selection compared to some groceries. Staff has been quietly polite and professional in my experience. Clean and reasonably well stocked / presented most days.Main constructive feedback is since it’s a college town and somewhat more trendy / open minded community for the area, you’d expect WAY more vegetarian options. Very few Morningstar / Impossible options.

This clean store has improved over the years. It has a limited inventory compared to bigger stores but is a decent place to buy groceries.

Husband works here. Nice staff. Even managers are nice and they work right along side the hourly employees. Store is always clean as are the restrooms.Everyone is knowledgeable of what aisles all products are on and will go with the customer to find what's being sought after. Can't find it? No problem, employee will go into the stockroom in back to find it. If it's still not there...Food Lion will give you a rain check.

My favorite of the Food Lions in the area. I have them special order larger quantities of a store brand soda I love and the managers and staff are always wonderfully accommodating.

It's Shepherdstown! I go because it's close but I always leave wondering why they don't have a better selection of well everything. No butcher/ no seafood counters kind sad..

Very nice medium sized grocery store. Still good! There is a section where you can get "local"ish goods which I really appreciate. Also, it is hard to find better meat at better prices than here. One of the better grocery store in the area.

I went to Food Lion on 2/23/2022, and while making my purchase a senior cashier had to help the cashier with ringing up wine. This senior cashier who happened to have dreadlocks and wear glasses was so rude to my son and I. My son is high functioning autistic and I instructed him to place bags in the cart as the cashier bagged them. When the senior cashier rang up the wine he did not put it in a bag, he just moved it to where the other bagged items were. My son picked it up and placed it in the cart and the senior cashier said in a very nasty tone “that has to go in a bag!” We the customers weren’t bagging items, the cashiers were. I kindly explained that my son didn’t know as he has autism and the senior cashier with the dreadlocks dismissed my explanation with attitude. I asked my son to place the bottle back on the counter so the cashier could bag it. Mind you, the bags were immediately below the register so when the cashier rings it up the proper protocol would’ve been to bag the item himself prior to placing it on the counter with the other bagged items. Then this same senior cashier proceeds to say “Swipe you card again ma’am!” I had to let him know that I hadn’t had the chance to swipe my card at all. I told him that I’d be tapping my card instead of swiping and I hadn’t done it yet! He was so rude and nasty for no reason. This is not the first time I’ve encountered a bad attitude from this particular cashier. I usually try to go when he’s not working. I’m never rude to the cashiers or staff and my son is well mannered and well behaved. I figured that he was having a bad day when I first encountered his rudeness, but this time I reported him to corporate. I understand how it feels to have a bad day, and I also understand how tough it could be to work with the public but that does not justify his rudeness that was directed towards my son and I for no reason whatsoever. Please give him additional training on proper customer service.

I always see the employees keeping the shelves stocked. Their weekly sales are within your budget and item you use frequently.The vegetable section has fresh items and rarely do they run out, and if they do its restocked within hours.

They seem to always have products in stock I'm unable to find elsewhere. They have more than 1 cashier so I don't have to do self checkout and the staff is super friendly.

The staff is really starting to be rude checking you out. Wanting to know if you want bags for normal items like pickles, yogurt and today after using my manners hello, please, thank you, and have a nice day the cashier said nothing. If there was a choice I would shop other places for a quick trip. I have a stressful job to, but I not rude to people for no reason.

Stopped in to the Food Lion in Sheperdstown WV really quick to grasp some drinks. Seems like a decent grocery store for all your weekly food and drink item needs. I can’t really say much about their prices because a I really only bought a few drinks, but I’m sure I’ll have more input in the near future.

Not bad for a very very small town grocery store. Has pretty much everything you need. I've seen a few things pretty close to expiration however and selection of organics and whatnot is not stellar but admittedly better than I expected when moving from bigger city area. A little more expensive than I expected coming from DC area. Produce is consistently decent. Selection storewide is sufficient enough that I don't need to go to bigger city grocery shopping regularly.

Limited quantities of name brands, Food Lion brands are often lower quality so I can't limit my shopping to one store. Some staff members display unhappiness and lack of customer skills.

Its Martins now i thought...maybe i am just nuts. Anyway, it was fine. They have some select items there that i cant get at Walmart. So that is good. Like Devour bowls in the frozen section, in bacon mac n cheese...yum yum!

Ive long since stopped buying vegetables here because they are often going bad * while still in the store. People I've talked to have said they have to be prepared to cook whatever produce they've bought that night so it doesn't go bad. I was still buying fruit here, recently though I've gotten two apples with mold growing inside, and in a bag of oranges there was one orange completely covered in white, powdery mold ( all the others looked fine so I didn't see it - though the four I ate didn't taste much like oranges.) Definitely going to the farmers market from now on whenever possible) Sidenote customer service/management has been rude on multiple occasions (unrelated to produce-i was not complaining. I worked in customer service so I'm pretty reasonable) not referring to the cashiers. They have mostly been very nice!

Love food lion here in the inwood wv area .Am able to stop in everyday or every other day to shop.Was a little disappointed that they didn't put a special for the community that was near the store with the sale to move forward to the new location.

Staff is friendly. Junk food and candy by volume far outweigh anything fresh. I cannot even take the kids in there with me. It's overwhelming. Hard to plan meals - their produce is hit or miss, though they do seem to try. I guess the junk food sells better than the real stuff...

I shop this market whenever I can. The staff is wonderful and friendly. There is only one item that they do not stock, but I just have it shipped, so not a big deal.Some of the products I purchase are a bit more expensive than Walmart, but for the most part, they are quite competitive and always have wonderful sales.

They have wonderful fried chicken and sushi! They also have deals on some occasions for the wing bar starts at 11am ends at 2pm. Very yummy!

This place is over priced. The staff members I've encountered are rude. My latest problem is that i called to see how late thw deli was open, they said 9:00 pm. After making a trip here at 8:20 i was ignored by the lady behind the deli counter. When i managed to get her attention, she was rude. She said she had already taken down her station and the deli was closed (at 8:20). I then talked to the manager on duty who shrugged me off. She said "well they are outta there at 9:00". I called and was told they were OPEN until 9:00. I'll take my business elsewhere where.I'm updating this on 08/24/2018: I saw a small breed dog in the store with its owner shopping. Obviously this was not a service dog. It had NO markings as a service dog. This is now the 3rd or 4th time I've seen pet dogs inside the store! Management sees this and does nothing. This is GROSS! I have dogs, I love dogs, but I will never bring my dog around where people buy their food. REALLY?!I am editing this again on 03/24/2019: Today I saw a man with his rottweiler in the store, again not a service dog. It is nasty to see a giant hairy dog walking up and down the aisle where I was going to buy my food. I saw the manager see the dog and keep walking. I wish there was another grocery store closer to Shepherdstown.

I frequently use this location due to the lack of available locations now. I wanted to say that Melissa on the front end is always a pleasure to deal with!!! I called to today to make sure the sale item I was in search of was available and seem seemed more than happy to check for me!!!!!!!

Staff need to protect customers by wearing masks at this Covid time! Crazy that they are not when other shops in Shepherdstown are taking this measure as Maryland all of 2 miles away. Staff are generally nice, but health of others (and themselves) needs to be the priority.Customers are generally wearing their protection, but not all staff, some of whom get pretty close.Not going anymore.

I appreciate the effort of a of the hard-working staff at the Shepherdstown location. I visit this place a lot, and everyone is very friendly and professional. They did an outstanding job throughout the pandemic, and I truly appreciate everyone's hard work to make sure everyone has what the need to make their #saferathome experience better.
