We visited a few local restaurants during a visit to the area, and this was one of our favorites! The outdoor garden seating is lovely! The stream is a little loud, but, personally, I liked hearing the sound of nature while enjoying my meal. The overall vibe of the restaurant is very casual. A great place to enjoy a burger or wrap - which is what my husband and I both got. We also got the hummus appetizer, which had delicious warm pita bread with it! The hummus was a little saltier than my preference, but overall good! Similarly, the turkey wrap that I got was a little on the salty side, but still yummy. It had lots of fresh veggies in it, which was delicious. We had our 11 month old with us. They had a high chair for her, but it was a little tricky to use in the outdoor seating. The brick floor by our table was a little uneven, making the chair rock a bit when she moved (which our little one thought was fun, but Mama was a little nervous 😆). Staff were kind and friendly to all of us. The individual any gender bathrooms were cute and well maintained. There was a diaper changing station in the larger bathroom. The one bathroom did have a messy toilet seat (the rest of the room was clean), but I told a staff member about it and they promptly took care of it. Overall, this is a great casual and relaxing lunch spot.Kid-friendliness: There are high chairs. The outdoor seating has brick ground that is slightly uneven in spots, so some tables are not the best for high chairs, but it worked for us. There is a diaper changing station in the bathroom. Staff were very friendly to our baby. Food was a little on the salty side, if you're watching that for little ones, but overall, there were some appropriate baby led weaning options, including the hummus appetizer, if that's what you're looking for.

Always have a great experience at Blue Moon. Food is always delicious and staff friendly. They have a great indoor and outdoor environment. Some of my favorite menu options are the Reuben and the burgers. The Reuben has a lot of meat and is very flavorful, and the burgers are always cooked perfectly and with the perfect amount of toppings. Highly recommended!

This place was great! If I could give more than 5 stars on atmosphere, I would. The food was great, service was perfect. A slightly wider on tap beer selection would be the only thing that could have been better. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: It was vegetarian and vegan friendly.

I really wanted to like this place. It’s cute, the staff is friendly, and the outdoor patio is a nice little spot. Unfortunately, the food was just ok. It all looked and tasted like prepackaged food that was mixed together and reheated. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either.Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options.

This is my favorite cafe to stop at when visiting Shepherdstown! We came on a beautiful spring day, so we had the opportunity to access the outside seating!I got the Black & Bleu burger with fries, and she got a Chicken Caesar salad with a side of fries!All of the staff are really friendly. It is a very welcoming environment with delicious food! Support local!

I dined with two friends at the Blue Moon Cafe after a morning walking the grounds of Antietam Battlefield. This was our first time eating here and we were delighted by the wide variety of menu options. One member of our group is on a vegan diet and had several dishes to choose from. Our server Claire was warm, welcoming, and very helpful answering our menu questions. Our food came out promptly and Claire made sure we were well taken care of. I enjoyed the Triple B Burger, and was not disappointed. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great meal when visiting the area!

Fantastic place! I called a few days in advance about reserving a table for a large group for a Saturday evening. Friday I called again to request an additional seat. Each time I called the staff who answered were friendly and helpful.The table was ready for us when we arrived Saturday. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Our orders were all correct and the food was great! Prices are more than reasonable for the portion sizes. They weren't oversized, only one person needed a box, and a few of us ordered dessert, but none of our party of nine left hungry. They were out of a few dessert choices, but those who wanted dessert were all able to find something they wanted.We had a great evening and our out of town guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

I ordered the Big 3 B burger. It had bacon, brie, and burger. It was so delicious and big, so I couldn't even eat the whole thing! The burger was well-done as I had ordered it and was complete with tomato, onion, and lettuce too. And of course the mayonnaise dressing. I would order it again. It was my dinner. I also ordered French fries and they were very fresh and good and the serving was very liberal.

Nice atmosphere. Really nice to sit outside under the trees. Food is excellent. I love the quiche, my son enjoyed the pilgrim sandwich, and my husband loved the meatball sub and also the the porkie sandwich last week. Yes, we've been here twice in a week on our trip up and then back down the east coast. We definitely will stop here again when we are in the area.

The food was not great, pushed it around on the plate. I use to live in Shepherdstown and the Spinach artichoke dip was my favorite... it's so bland and basically just warm cream cheese at this point. Very disappointing. It definitely is not half as good as it was unfortunately. Service wasn't rude but we sat waiting for boxes and a check 20 minutes after asking for one. Server just wasn't attentive. All around disappointed.

We thought their crab cakes were among the best we ever ate (they were so good I forgot to take a picture before we ate them all, hence the photo of the empty plate). It's decorated in what we thought was a delightful hodge-podge of eclectic art and artifacts. The outside seating area is rustic and garden-like.

This is the most amazing hidden gem.. from the outside it is a cute, tho unassuming place.. but behind the trees & fence it has a woodsy outdoor little wonderland...! The stream that rushes thru shepardstown flows right thru the seating area! Beautiful old trees create a good bit of shade over the multi level dirt & stone outdoor seating areas.The food all looked fresh with healthy portions. I had the steak & cheese, which was still bigger than i could eat tho smaller than some places. I had the hummus, too, which was tasty.Service was prompt & friendly. I had to park a couple blocks away tho by the time i walked there a couple spaces opened up. They have 5 or 6 spots right in front.Really fun place for a road trip. There are lots of adorable, unique shops in town, too, and a boat ramp with potomac river access is a few blocks away with some small falls. The same stream, i assume.

Took two bites out of my food and I said my food was gross to the server when he asked if there was something wrong and he said sorry and brought the bill with my food on it. I never expect a free meal but when I take two bites I expect maybe offering another option at least…I used to come here a lot 2017-2019 and it was really good! I think for such a great location the food could be better and the owner might give the servers the green light to comp food if the customer is verbally telling them it’s not good.

A cute little cafe planted right up against Shepherdstown College on Princess Street. I give them a mediocre review for numerous reasons. While the outside dining area was pleasant, it was also dark and the dirt (not mulch or grass) was uneven beneath our table making the meal a bit like dining on a boat. They had poor lighting with seemingly random placement and tables were way too close to not share every word and lipsmack coming from the large group seated next to us. (A couple looking for a quiet meal.)The inside was an eclectic mix of rather pub like decor which featured a nice window filled with cobalt blue glassware immediately adjacent to a gnome mooning the customers... The fare was very limited to pretty much salads, sandwiches and a few run of the mill appetizers. They had only 2 entrees (which sounded unappetizing) and virtually no vegetables to be found. Diet Pepsi (which makes my throat constrict) was the only diet option next to unsweetened tea and water and offered quite unapologetically to 2 diabetics. We ordered the crab melts, which were smothered in a sharp cheddar making the tiny bit of crab almost undetectable. I had their "Pilgrim" sandwich., which I would not reccomend. It was supposed to be turkey, brie, and cranberry aoili on ciabatta bread. The turkey was the only good thing about the sandwich. The brie was way too greasy and tasteless, the aioli was a thoroughly tasteless mayo with a few dried cranberries tossed in, and the ciabatta was too hard to be pleasant. The best thing on my plate was a pile of surprisingly good kettle style chips. My husband said his "Chubby burger" was good, so I can't comment. However the waitress was far more interested in fawning over the 6 20 year olds at the next table (who were seated well after us) than even asking if we needed drink refills. I only got a second tea about a half hour into our wait for 2 very basic sandwiches by asking the young man who brought our appetizer. All in all, I have had much worse, but CERTAINLY much better. The stream running through the outdoor dining area was probably the best part of the evening.
