Fantastic lunch at Betty's restaurant! Super cute and casual dining :) We had a great simple meal. We sat outside at one of two tables and had a great experience with the server and food. We even used the bathroom inside. The home fries were delicious and the pancakes were awesome. I loved how fresh the fruit was for my girlfriends waffles 😋 it was delicious and refreshing. My hats off to the chef 👨‍🍳 🙌 👌My one feedback is that it was a little bit expensive for a small spot especially with the smaller portion sizes so maybe they could help the price reflect that?Dog in photo:@Illari.Speaks

Old school diner feel with a college town vibe. Narrow long open room. Coffee bar to the right, booths to the left. Tired decor, but very friendly staff. Highlight, the biscuits light fluffy and buttery. Sausage gravy was good. Chip beef gravy could have used a little more chip beef. Bacon was $4 for a side of three strips. Sweet tea was perfect.

I will definitely give this place a try again but I was disappointed after reading the great reviews. First of I will say the service was very good and it was a friendly atmosphere but my breakfast was below average. The sausage gravy was bland and tasted like it came from a can and it was cold. This biscuit under it was good but didn’t taste much different than a pillsbury grands biscuit. I would definitely try something different next time.

We came for breakfast. My husband had told pur server when he was ready to order he would put his menu down so they wouldn't have to keep checking. But she came back anyway before he was ready and we felt very rushed to order like it was an inconvenience for her to give us more time. My husband had a Blueberry pancake and a plain one with chipped beef gravy and a sausage patty. I got Blueberry pancakes and a Sausage patty. The sausage is fresh and cokes from a local butcher so it was pretty good. Bland and lean but not the fake meat you usually get. We were very disappointed in the pancakes though. The batter they use has no flavor. The blueberries were good but the pancakes themselves, not so much. We got a cup of milk with our meal and it was going sour. It just didn't taste right. We were really looking forward to coming here and were honestly let down. Especially for the prices.Kid-friendliness: They have coloring books and crayons for the kids!

We were visiting my wife’s uncle who is the catholic priest here in Shepardstown and he recommended this place for breakfast. We were so glad he did because this place was amazing. We loved the old school diner feel and the waitresses and staff were so nice and friendly! They gave our little ones crayons to draw on and had a high chair waiting for us without even asking. The food was delicious as we about had one of everything and the prices were cheap as you were gonna get. Highly recommend eating here and will definitely be back next time we visit!

Strolled in here with my party of three and Cara and the crew were super attentive and friendly. She spoiled me(I had forgotten my southern life what small town and southern hospitality was like)with southern hospitality and politeness. She came back and checked on my party, always refilling our beverages. She gave us ample time to decide and order. I’ll definitely be back again. Thanks a bunch Betty’s restaurant crew!!

Not what they used to be. Orders were all messed up. Waitress showed up with an extra order of pancakes, which no one ordered. My wife ordered a side of bacon, which she never received. The lady we were with ordered a double order of bacon. She only got one. She later ordered a glass of tomato juice. She never received it. The food was awful. The pancakes had a hard shell around them. The gentleman we were with ordered chip beef and biscuits. He ate one biscuit and left the rest. We ate breakfast there maybe a few times a year and have never left as much food on the table as we did this time. It used to be packed. This time, there were maybe two or three people there. So, apparently, the word is getting out to avoid this place.

Finally had the chance to eat here after passing by for quite couple years. Awesome. Asked the waitress as to what is popular. - both breakfast and lunch. She said gravy with beef chi or sausage. Had the sausage one In a crock pot like. With egg and potatoes. Am really impressed! They said it is all home made! Will be back!

Great food and great service and the waitress was friendly and helpful! Got the ram skillet and it was worth the price for $8! Definitely more than what you’d get at chick fil a in replaced for the the scramble bowl. Betty the original owner passed away and Regina is running the business. Breakfast served all day and most everything under $10!

Betty's Restaurant is quite the hidden gem. I have lived close to Shepherdstown my whole life and didn't know what I was missing. They are a cash only business but their food is very affordable and delicious. Breakfast is great but the star of the show is the crab cakes! Honestly they were the best I've eaten in a long time. The environment is very down homey and they have a train that travels the perimeter inside which is fun to watch. Service is prompt and attentive. Stop in and you won't be disappointed.

Great place for breakfast and lunch. It’s cash only, but they do have an ATM. So far I’ve had the Chip Beef and Gravy and the Hot Hamburger w/ French Fries and gravy, and I highly recommend both.

Betty’s was a recommendation from locals for a good breakfast in town. Had the ram skillet. Delicious mix of potatoes, eggs, cheese, sausage and gravy in a bowl. As a FYI, cash only. Would go back.

Family style diner, very friendly staff and the food was outstanding. Had a few minute wait to get seated, but food was worth it. Must be a town favorite because the place was packed the entire time we were there.

Really enjoyed this little gem in Shepherdstown WV. I rode my bike one way up the C&O Canal tow path to lock 38 then caught a ride into town.Large portions of food and lots of coffee...I needed it!Just have to be patient...it took an hour to have the food served after ordering.. the place was packed and busy on a Saturday at 10AM.If you are in a rush or on a tight schedule I'd skip Saturday brunch...if you are looking to unwind and chill for a bit with some good food you'll be happy 😊.Also, cash only. But there is an ATM on-site.

Dak from Star Wars likes this place & so will you! Bring your cash as they dont take credit cards. Our hotel had stopped serving breakfast but I was craving eggs badly. The front desk recommended Betty's and we headed straight there. Fast service and home style cooking hit the spot. Rock bottom prices with options for organic and Turkey sausage make Betty's a future destination.

we absolutely loved this little cafe. the service was excellent, the location was perfect and the food was so DELICIOUS! if you are staying in the Harper's ferry area etc and want breakfast this is the PLACE TO GO! we were looking for a little place to have breakfast and I'm so glad we tried this place. a little down home cozy place to eat. my husband got the chip beef and I got the eggs and turkey sausage. we also got the corn beef hash. ALL EXCEPTIONAL! I'm looking forward to the next time we're in the area to go there again. any other than 5 star review is for someone that just has to be unhappy with life overall lol.. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Small town old Mom and Pops restaurant. Food was excellent. The Sunrise breakfast is the best value. You pay double the price for the country ham special. Pancakes are delish too.Cash only, come prepared!

I went here for brunch prior to a performance at the university in town. This was such a popular place that people were crowded inside the front door giving not a whole lot of room to move around. The bathrooms were right by tables, six to ten feet away, which would be awkward for those dining at those tables. The small restaurant had a bar style seating area which is where I ate. The food was very good and inexpensive. The staff was great and there was a toy train running around on a track by the ceiling and went all around the whole restaurant in the front part. They sold handmade holiday earrings by the register. They do not take any form of payment other than cash.
