We camped at Yokums while traveling up to do Nelson Rock and loved the campground. We’ve been to many in our travels and Yokums has been one of my favorites so far. It was really clean, the store is actually nice and has lots of necessities and there is a restaurant. The gentleman that helped us book our camp spot was super knowledgeable and all the staff were very friendly! You can definitely tell it’s a family owned place.

Just spent the weekend at the Yokum Motel. We really enjoy it there! The scenery of Seneca Rocks is beautiful. The rooms are cozy and clean. The rooms have a kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, and mini fridge. The Yokum kitties are always ready to greet the customers. The employees are so friendly and welcoming. We are repeats of staying here and will continue to do so

Not too shabby for a place to just sleep and get out of the elements. Cell signal is zero here but the WiFi in the general store is good fast and reliable. Rooms have old dirty mattresses. I would recommend they put in the hospital type mattresses that you can just wipe down or rinse off. Definitely bring a mattress cover. Plenty of fire pits and quiet area to camp.

My motel room had a homey feel. It was clean and the bed linens smelled good. I traveled solo and felt very safe. I suggest bringing an eye mask. The window coverings don't block the safety lights. The heater was loud, but I just shut it off. I slept really well. The staff is really nice, and the store and restaurant were convenient. The location is the best for those who want to hike Seneca Rocks!Rooms: It was clean and smelled good. It had a homey feel with a couch, reading chair, small dining table and kitchenette.Nearby activities: Hiking, cave tours, river, restaurants, gift shops, water hole, camping, star gazing.Safety: Attentiveness of the staff, lights, and cameras.Walkability: Seneca Rock trails are right across the streetFood & drinks: There's a small restaurant and grocery store right downstairs.

We stay in the Fisherman's Cabins at least once a year and love it. The decor is plain, but the cabins are clean, beds are comfortable, towels are plentiful, water hot, and you can't beat the price and convenient location. If you are planning on doing any cooking that will require specific equipment I recommending bringing it yourself just in case as the kitchen supplies are very basic, and I usually bring a good kitchen knife from home. There is no wifi or cell reception at the Fisherman's Cabins but there is wifi a mile away in town at the store if you need to look up a recipe or check the weather forecast. I think the lack of wifi is a huge selling point for these cabins: my family uses the chance to go off the grid, put our phones down, and really pay attention to each other. Board games, puzzles, cards, sitting on the porch next to the river and reading a book - Yokum's is the place for a really good, old-fashioned family vacation.Rooms: Plain but comfortableNearby activities: A short drive or bike ride from downtown Seneca RocksWalkability: There is a shoulder along part of the highway if you want to walk or bicycle into Seneca Rocks, it's a short and flat trip. I would not recommend it with kids or at night.

We wanted to ride our motorcycles to Seneca Rocks (coming from the Haymarket, VA area). So Yokum's was the natural choice for a place to stay. What a nice place they have over there! Also the food they prepare at the Grill inside the store was absolutely fantastic. The pizza and the burgers were almost perfect.Their staff was helpful and eager to help every time. We're seriously considering coming back soon!

The teepee’s put a roof over your head, give you a camp ground, and a great view of Seneca rocks. The general store is where you check in, buy souvenirs and all you necessities. The workers are friendly and will make you a good breakfast. This is a great area to stay for hiking dolly sods, climbing the rocks, or hiking spruce knob.

We did not stay here but stopped as a well needed rest with food. So convenient. The view from the grill is awesome. The staff were so kind in the general store and the grill. I was so impressed by the number of items sold between convenience, camping, and gifts. So many awesome things to browse. If you need a place to rest, even if just for a few minutes, or a place to grab essentials...this is your place! We loved hearing some of the history of the animals in the general store by the wholesome and most loveliest of ladies that was behind the counter at the store. Thank you for making these two Ohio tourists feel like we have been locals our entire lives. Please take a stop here. You can connect to wifi for a short check in, etc.

Campy place to stop for your camping supplies. A bit of everything. Breakfast sandwiches made-to-order are excellent and affordable. Free cats to pet in the parking lot. Stop across the street to take a picture of the amazing cliff.

My husband and I visited there a few times and we always have a nice experience. They have a store for all your needs right there. The cabins are always clean. The staff are welcoming especially Bradley. He's awesome. The cabins are pet friendly which is nice because we bring our Chihuahua. The location is perfect if you plan on hiking the mountain.

We stayed for 3 nights at one of the family cabins. The cabin was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The hot tub was a nice addition. The cabins have a wonderful view of Seneca Rocks. The kids enjoyed the large yard in front of the cabins to run and play. The check in and check out process was super easy. Everyone was very nice. We would definitely stay again.

This is an amazing place. Beautiful cabin motel style. Easy walk out wrap around deck to see mountains. General store and Grill below deck. Very interesting history on this place. Clean. Soft new beds. And very cheap for what they offer. Guy who checked us in was so informative and helpful. Cashier gentleman was very friendly. And Grill staff all had smiles.

It got the job done, though the fisherman cabin we stayed in was in disrepair and not convincingly clean (eg, dirty surfaces, literal flies crawling all over the bed and pillows when we first checked in, musty, no bathroom ventilation, the list goes on). A lot of potential in this place, though not the best maintained. I would probably return to camp in my own tent, but I would not rent a cabin again unless it was clear that appropriate repairs and cleanliness were endeavored.

Nice spot to go off grid. There’s cute cabins that are clean and for the most part comfy. I’ve had an uncomfortable couch and bed before there in two separate stays in two separate cabins. Of corse these things are personal preference so some could disagree. I’ve talked to the grandson of the founders, and this is a wholesome, kind family with an amazing legacy. If you stay here, there’s no cell service. Once you get used to it though it’s nice getting off the screen. There’s a bunch of outdoor activities around and it’s truly a beautiful experience every time. I like how the cabins are well stocked, clean , and home like. There’s direct tv, and of corse a 🔥 fireplace. The locals are nice and there is a yokum general store that has a bunch of things so it’s like you’re in the middle of nowhere but that’s the beautiful thing!❤️

We stayed in the fisherman’s cabin (23) and had a terrific time! Fall colors were out and the leaves had thinned just enough so we could see the rocks from the wrap around porch. Checkin was a breeze, everyone was very nice (and funny). Great value.

We stayed in a motel room above the little store. It was very cheap and convenient with a little restaurant and gift shop/convenience store. It had a breathtaking view of Seneca rocks. The only thing we would change next time is bringing ear plugs to sleep or a lap top to play something as the trucks stopping at the four way were a bit noisy. Nothing that we blamed on yokums! Great stay and would recommend to anyone.

The cabin we stayed in was clean, and in a beautiful location. Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, and pans. The night sky was my favorite feature. No light pollution, just black with tiny points of light. Breathtaking. The hot tub was a great a great way to unwind after a day of hiking and playing in the river. Surprisingly, the lack of wifi was a blessing and a curse. Our family is so connected to our electronics and the internet, that we discovered just how little we talk to each other during our daily lives, but with so many little ones and so much nature (bees, snakes and slippery rocks) I wondered how we would get emergency services if we needed them. Thankfully, all we ended up needing was a little Benadryl for itchy hornet stings (boys were throwing rocks in the woods and unknowingly upset a hive). The satellite TV was nice for the kids (6 of them). It kept them entertained while mom and dad slept in.Luke Yokum was a wonderful host and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The grille inside the store is a great place to grab a bite to eat. Highly recommend the cheese steak sub with onion rings. We all loved the hand dipped ice cream! By far the best family vacation yet! We will stay here again!

This place is fantastic. I visited back in March and I had a positive experience. I stayed in a Teepee which was surprisingly spacious and can sleep 4 with ease. The bathrooms and showers were always clean and well maintained. The general store was also very convenient as you are about 20/30 minutes away from the nearest town. Yokum's is right across from Seneca rocks and within an hour from some great hiking spots. I highly recommend staying here or at least visiting the general store!

We camped at their campsites for two nights. It's definitely more for those of us that don't need everything luxurious while you're camping. I personally loved it. It's got a beautiful view of Seneca Rocks, and was a quiet, cozy little campground right by the river. The bathhouse was quite clean and well kept. Yokum's itself was a nice little country store with all sorts of random, useful items. Get some pepperoni and cheese rolls and heat them up while you're there. They were super good.
