This photo is to show what it is really like. The aisles are always cluttered... boxes are everywhere, and merchandise is rarely unloaded.. when I need something, it usually isn’t on the shelf. It seems to be that this situation has only gotten worse over time. There are only 2 people working at any given time which is not beneficial to the check out lines, as they are super long and get backed up into the clutter filled aisles. All of the clutter and the boxes are a fire hazard.

The clerk was only pleasant experience in the store... I asked to use the restroom and to my dismay it was completely disgusting... there was no toilet paper and there were boxes of merchandise store in the restroom... so I went to return the key... I can hold it ...the shelves were untidy...the aisles were fill with unstocked merchandise... I'm not sure if they are short staffed...

I love Dollar General every time I walk through the doors I have a list and every time I walk through the doors I find something that's not on my list. I have not run into any disgruntled Dollar General employees. they have always been super nice and super accommodating if you can't find something that help you find it I've had coupons and went ring up that they rang up for me manually and I quote it was the managers that bring them up not the regular sales person. I have going to keep on stay calm and clicked a bunch of coupons for the Dollar General and they didn't ring up and the manager right now coupons when I asked about if they ringing up and why weren't they ringing up. the Dollar General has expanded their line of merchandise to like a small section of refrigerated groceries as well as dry groceries. Lots of great deals.

I used to live in Salem and truthfully I find many more products that I just can't find in the other dollar general stores. I'm aware that these stores and others like them don't have any say in the merchandise that gets sent to each store but its a well rounded store and has everything you need or at least some item that will do in place of your preferred items. Overall its a nice little store and I usually find everything I need some in fact are items I've been looking for a while.

Very pleasant employees. Unlike other Dollar General stores, this one is very neat and all the items are stocked and on shelves. Very impressed with the service and the pleasantness of the store's workers. Plus the prices are reasonable!

This store is always a mess. Merchandise is never unloaded, only put on carts and left in the aisles. Cant walk down the aisles for carts piled high while the shelves are empty. Also, the staff stands directly in front of the entrance for smoke breaks so that, as a customer, you have to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke to enter. Check out lines are always backed up onto the already cluttered aisles. As well they only use two registers and there is ,literally, no place to line up to wait.

Store gets a little crowded on delivery days with gondolas blocking shelves and not enough help to work on it plus run the store. The present manager and staff are very good.

This place is a mess every time I come in here. Aisles blocked all the time to where u can't really get thru. The people seem to dislike checking u out or answer a question. Lady's bathroom is broken. & they have the slowest cashier's in the world.

Not the best Dollar General out of all the ones ive been to..every time i look for something they either dont have it and other stores do or they havent gotten it in yet.along with that being said its kinda messy and theres no front facing which is an item pulled to the front of a shelf if that item is low in stock you pull it to the front and face the label for customers to see and identify the item.i should of taken the assistant manager position 4 years ago i Gaurentee it would be a way different store for sure.also when a customer asks about an item they seem to need the staff that customer is speaking to should go out of their way to figure out a way to better assist the customer.never seen that in the store either.

Stores alot better after the remodel. They have frozen food now and dairy products. Sell more beer products. Clean store.

For basic, most frequently needed stuff, this Salem Dollar General has a good variety of stuff in the store. Store has just as much as Walmart or Target. For a small town store, this store saves a trip from driving miles to Bridgeport or Clarksburg. If you live between Salem and West Union, stop here at Dollar General, even though that their is also a Dollar General in West Union, they still save a trip and time of dealing with Wal-Mart or Target.
