First visit to the caverns. Ethan was our tour guide who kept us safe and shared what knowledge he had of the caverns which was fairly extensive, but wished he was able to share a little bit more detail but as he stated he is not a geologist.NOTE: The main or “normal” entrance is currently under construction so you start at the end then backtrack back out due to just the one entrance. They offer senior and military/veteran discounts on the adult entry price of $15.00.

Unfortunately, they are currently only doing tours on the weekend, so I'm not entirely sure why they're open during the week.We did manage to get back out for the weekend tour and it was just as fun as it was when I was a kid. The caverns are gorgeous, educational, and the guides are great.

Great experience. A must see when you are in Seneca Rocks, WV.I’d share more photos but I don’t want to spoil it. It is not a very difficult walk, there are probably no more than 60 steps. Some portions you have to crouch. Tours run every hour from 11:00 AM to 5pm. Admission is very reasonable:$10 for adults$8 for kids 12 and underKids 2 an under are freeThey have gem mining for the kids and a restaurant as well.

If you’re passing through WV this is definitely worth a stop. The tour is fun and interesting. The little country restaurant is a welcome relief to any hungry tourist.

This is out of the way, but close enough to Seneca Rocks to drive to. Quaint little place with a resturant right next door if you get hungry. We were able to get a bite to eat before the tour.Price per person is only $15 for adults ($13 for old peeps like me). Didn't catch the price for kids, but it isn't an expensive trip. Tour guide was exceptional as she explained the different formations and history of the place. It is worth the trip, especially on a hot day as it is so chilly down there.

Great little stop on the way to our camp. Reasonably priced restaurant and a cute little gift shop. Our guide was very knowledgeable and loud enough to where our extremely large group could hear the info she provided. Wasn't too extreme for my 60 year old mother in law.

Your guide is friendly. The experience does not take to long and tours run every half hour. There are nearby swing sets for kids and families while waiting. The caverns are cool and drip a little so you may want to have a sweater.

Don't let the fact that it's 52 degrees down there scare you away from this beautiful underground spectacle! It was cool, not so much cold, and Dylan the tour guide was clearly very enthusiastic about this place, and he had names for all the different formations and rooms. Thanks to him, I can finally remember which ones are stalagmites and which are stalactites!

This is a great place to bring children. I had a great time walking the trail. It is a tough go at 6'2" 350 lbs. So be prepared to navigate while contorting. $15 for an hour was a good price.

A Great Cavern tour in West Virginia that is seasonalThis site is located along WV 9 several miles down two lane roads. There is a fairly large parking lot around that is the center of a family style restaurant, a gift shop and a restroom building. We were lucky and got on one of the last tours for the season on Halloween. This is a 45 minute tour that runs on the hour. You buy your tickets at the gift shop. If you have to wait there are some things to do around the site. You are asked to put on a safety hat that is provided for you. The tour starts from behind the gift shop and leads directly down into the caverns. The tour was guided and showed many of the various parts of the cavern system. It is an absolutely fascinating cavern system that is well preserved. You have to walk from the entry behind the building to about a ¼ mile where you exit the system. There are low ceilings, wet stairs and tight spaces. This is only open at certain times of the year so please be sure to check before you visit. It is an excellent tour and I highly recommend it for anyone in the area interested in caverns.

My wife and I have never done a cavern tour before but this was an excellent first time experience. It's a beautiful drive out to the area, they have a nice restaurant right up the hill from the gift shop and cavern entrance. I recommend NOT taking a jacket into the Caverns as it really doesn't get that cold down there. Once you are down there, it's fantastic and beautiful and quite the experience. Tour guide makes it fun and is very knowledgeable. It's educational and fascinating, you have to check out Seneca Caverns, also great for families.

Very cool roadside attraction! Gem mining for the kids and adults as well as s great tour of the caverns. Adults are $15.00 for the approx. 1 hour tour that goes for over a mile underground. Hard hats provided and you can take pictures and video during the tour. There is a restaurant onsite that has great food with great prices! Plan to spend a couple hours if you time it for lunch or dinner. Also the restaurant had a wrap around porch with nice chairs and table over looking the mountains.

Stopped here to escape the rain and was well worth it. There's a restaurant with a beautiful view and good good (wifi also). Great gift shop with cute jewelry and clothes and stuff for children. I enjoyed the tour, we caught the last one of the day and I'm pretty sure the guide was ready to go home because it felt extremely rushed and would turn the lights off before people were even done in some of the "rooms". However, if you havent done a cave tour this I'd a fun one and appropriate for kids of all ages. They create fun stories about the different rooms which was cute. It's cold, so bring a jacket for sure. If standing or walking is a task for you you may want to think twice as you're going down slick stairs and wet walkways with limited light and some areas you have to bend over to walk through as the tunnels are very low in height.

Our guide was very knowledgeable, talked kinda fast and made it feel rushed a few times, but we were the last tour of the day and still really enjoyed it, she was very kind.

So beautiful! They have guided tours every hour. The tour guide was very informative. Took us about an hour to get through the cavern. They also have a restaurant on site. So if you are around the area, I highly recommend paying a visit and getting a tour of the cavern.

Sara was a great tour guide. We got to see a lot of cool stuff in the caves. Be sure to wear long sleeves. It's constantly 52° down there. Afterwards, go to the Asbury family restaurant for a burger and some cobbler. Very good service, clean facilities (I recommend using the bathrooms in the restaurant rather than the white building the gift shop tells you about), kind servers, gorgeous view of the mountains!

Having visited about 30 caves and caverns I must say that this one is rather mediocre. Enjoyable as caverns go but ultimately forgettable because there simply are not that many formations in this this cave. There are some, just not many. The lighting of the formations was good throughout the cave although there is one section with the garish, tacky Christmas lighting that show caves like to do.

Good caverns but smaller than Luray. This can be combined with a trip to Blackwater falls and Spruce Knob. The tour guide was a young guy who was pretty good at his job. He kept everyone engaged. The price is reasonable too. Would recommend this place if you are in the area.

This was my first time visiting Seneca, WV. This place is a nestled back in the mountains. There is a cavern, a gem mining area and a cute restaurant to grab a bite to eat. We did not visit the caverns this time. We did do some gem mining. The staff was fun to work with and made the visit fun. I gave 4 stars because we got the biggest bucket they had and it was not filled up, which kind of felt like they left us hanging. Buckets are $30, $50 and $100. We found lots of fun fossils and rocks. We are lunch at the restaurant and then took some pictures outside.

Very enjoyable and informative tour. West Virginia could do more to sell this tourist spot. Luray caverns just across the state lines in Virginia is much more commercialized and gets huge crowds

The tour guide was energetic and informative about the cavern history and internal structures. This was my second visit, and would definitely go again. We hiked Seneca rocks, ate at Asbury's restaurant next door to Seneca caverns. I highly recommend this place!
