My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and we loved it. The cabin was so cute and cozy, we stayed in the Cowboy cabin. It had anything and everything a person could want/need. We enjoyed simply sitting on the front porch in the evening and by the fireplace in the living room at night. Would love to come back. We also got the smores board, which was yummy.

This has been quite an incredible place for a vacation stay. The location is splendid. Loved the creek, the fire pit, the seating arrangement around it. We stayed at the Gypsy Jade and it was nice. They had everything that you would need. The communication has been great. The only thing that I had a bit trouble adjusting is the sound from the AC unit. We definitely would stay here again if we are visiting the area. New River Gorge was not too far. Loved it overall and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in the Safari Lodge at Four Fillies. Although the space was small, they maximized every inch of it and thought of every detail to make the stay enjoyable and convenient. The cabin’s fire pit overlooked the steam and we spent many happy hours relaxing and cooking there. We’d love to return in the future and will recommend the stay to our friends and family!

We loved our time at Four Fillies Lodge.Access to the area was effortless. I worried about driving on mountain roads, however, the roads throughout the property were wide and well maintained. We stayed in a lavish yet efficient glamping pod situated in the Sherman Forest area of the property. It was impressively clean! The heating/AC unit kept it warm & cozy even though it was snowing outside. The pod had everything we needed, including grilling tools, crisp bedding, a space heater, coffee pods, microwave, mini fridge, board & card games, fire pit lighters, & the list goes on! Guests can also purchase fire wood & fire starters for a small fee. The shared kitchen and private bathrooms were fully stocked, temperature controlled, clean, & beautiful as well.We walked the entire property, sightseeing the different cabins, picnic areas, & surrounding nature. We could tell a lot of thought, care, and detail went into everything. 10/10 great place to stay! We CANT WAIT to go back in spring!

I don’t leave a lot of reviews on google because I just forget but this place! If you are wanting a place to get away from it all and just solitude please visit this lovely slice of heaven. The cabins are so clean and comfy. We stayed in the Fishing Creek Cabin and you could sit out on the porch and listen to the creek for hours. They have a fire pit not far from the porch you can gather around, there is a store not far to essentials from and everything is provided. I didn’t want to leave. This is a must do! We will be back!

We rented the Cowboy Cabin for the week of our 30th Anniversary to get away from it all! It was perfect! The cabin had every thing we needed for the week. The Cowboy cabin has a living room, bedroom, dining area, bathroom and kitchen downstairs. The second floor loft has 3 beds and a bathroom. The cabin sits beside of Rich Creek and has a great porch for listening to the water run. Each cabin has a fire pit area and a picnic table for outdoor fun.We were secluded and the area was super quiet while we were there. We spent several days trout fishing, walking the grounds, and front porch sitting! The resort arranged for a massage on the porch by a local provider per our request. We highly recommend Four Fillies Lodge to anyone who is looking to get away from the noise of the cities and traffic.

My husband spent two nights in the New River Gorge cabin. Upon arrival, we realized we picked the WRONG cabin for our stay. It's important to note that the area is residential (not secluded or rustic), with a community ball field adjacent. Our cabin was the only one that is not next to the creek, but across the street! The parking area for the other cabins in the group was right beside ours. Consequently, our floor to ceiling windows opened up to a road where everyone walks/drives by to get to their cabins. Everyone else's windows had private views of the creek. We had zero privacy unless the curtains were drawn, as everyone who walked by was feet away from our room and looked inside. Additionally, our cabin sat directly below a busy road's guardrail which had loud traffic constantly - sounding like they were driving over our heads at night. The air conditioning/heating unit in the cabin sounded like a jet airplane warming up. We had to turn it off due to the high pitched noise, so it got very stuffy. There are no windows or doors with screens, so you can't open up the cabin to let the breeze in without also letting the bugs in or our dog out. To top it off, the upper windows (which looked as though they had rarely been cleaned and still had the suction cup marks on them from installation) let in the light from the street lamp at the intersection - we never had a dark cabin in which to sleep. We were disappointed because we anticipated a nice quiet, serene stay. The cabin, in general, had everything you'd need for a stay and the amenities were well thought out. The check in process was easy. Beds were nice and water pressure was great. However, lack of privacy, light pollution, and noise pretty much ruined an otherwise nice stay.

Absolutely loved the Gypsy Jade cabin. High ceilings helps to make it feel spacious. Its well insulated so outside noise is minimum. Not to far from the road but couldn't hear the cars going up or coming off the hill. Nothing like waking up to the natural rhythm of things. Only downsides for me, close neighbors and the ac didn't work well and the shower wasn't made with short people in mind lol. Can't wait for my next adventure there. I may try one of the other cabins.

We just left after a 4 night stay at the Creekside Cabin. I feel like I have found a little piece of heaven. The accommodations were more than comfortable and well appointed. The cabin and the grounds were spotless. Every single one of the staff that we met was friendly and very welcoming. I can’t begin to say how impressed we were with absolutely everything about our stay. We are already looking at our calendars for our return. I’m pretty sure we will be regular visitors! Can’t wait to get back! A special thanks to Virgil and everyone else who made us feel so welcome. See you soon!Rooms: Spotless, comfortable and inviting. Felt like home!Safety: Never gave safety a thought. Felt very secure at all times.Walkability: Enjoyed walking around the entire property. Definitely explore the hiking trail if you want a more challenging workoutNoteworthy details: Spotless and well appointed with supplies.Staff was accessible and wonderful!

So peaceful! Will definitely be back! We were looking today to come back on the 18th but nothing abailable for us. We will definitely keep checking back ! It was my Birthday week and myself, along with my husband , two daughters , and dog had a wonderful time staying in the Wilderness Cabin. I had told them the trip would be complete for me if I saw a bear. My husband was packing the car up after our two night stay and whatta you know?! There came a bear. It was too good to be true. So cute! I would love to post some of the pictures that we had taken, but I do not see that option.Rooms: So beautiful and comfortable.

Stayed in two different cabins and loved it! Recommend! However, we left a kid's item in our cabin by mistake and the staff said it was never found...which I don't really believe. I know it's our fault for even leaving it but it seems a little fishy. Make sure you have all of your belongings!*Edit* We did eventually receive our left item. Thank you!

What a wonderful escape with our grand family of five adult kids, their spouses/best friends, and our two grandkids. We filled up the Cowboy and Boathouse cabins, enjoying the fire pit each night and the field, creek and woods that surrounded us all day.Amenities were exactly as described (tho, fold out couches aren’t suitable for adults). Made good use of the firewood bundles available @ $5.00/ea, and the pavilion/ grill area (free). This could not have been more suitable for our needs and met every expectation we had.Walks on the property, lots of cornhole, spike ball, badminton (all brought) in the field in front of our cabin. Creek walkin was cold and fun. We also drove to the Cascade Falls for a day (tip: stay on left trail if you don’t want the challenge of a hard trail), enjoyed appetizers/beers at a Blacksburg, VA brewery and dinner at another restaurant one evening, with our departing breakfast just down the road at the Hometown Restaurant. We’ll be back!!!!

What a great find for a weekend getaway. About a 4.5 to 5-hour drive from NOVA/DC (I-66 to 81, all the down to Virginia Tech exit, then about 45 mins up US 460 to US 219 in Peterstown, WV, right across the border). I spent my first visit at the Baitshop Cabin over Columbus Day weekend with my dog. This particular cabin was interesting, bed was comfy (bunk set up) in a room that's separated from the kitchen and bathroom, meaning you'll need to use two separate doors, but it wasn't an issue for me; it makes sense once you're there. Everything was clean and Wi-Fi was perfect. We (the dog) enjoyed walking the grounds and the grassy area to play fetch, as well as a babbling creek and pond to explore. The foliage was beautiful in mid-October. Nearby is Cascade Falls in Virginia (25 mins) if you're looking for a fantastic (and easy) hike. Near the trailhead is Bluegrass BBQ in Pembroke, which I highly recommend. We had a such a great time that we came back over the Thanksgiving holiday and stayed at the Cowboy Cabin. It had a rustic feel with a fireplace, two floors with several beds. I used the master bedroom downstairs. The kitchen came with everything I needed to cook and serve dinner. Again, everything was clean and no issues with the Wi-Fi. I also had good cell reception (AT&T) over the entire property. Carlin (proprietor) and Jessie (caretaker) were easy to communicate with via phone/text messages before and during my stay. I fully expect to return next summer, maybe try a different cabin; there are several on property. Thank you for a great stay!

We recently stayed a night in the Kilimanjaro Safari Treehouse, and it was FANTASTIC!! It is located just outside of the town of Peterstown, so close enough if you care to grab a bite to eat. The treehouse is well appointed if you care to cook a small meal/snack for yourself. The treehouse is right next to a lovely flowing creek...it was nice outside, so we had the sliding door to the porch open most of the night to listen the sounds. Multiple seating arrangements outdoors to sit and relax. The only thing to be cautious of is since there is a LOT of glass for you to view the surrounding area and nature, you do need to be aware of what others can see (the houses up on the hill across the creek can literally look right in at you). HIGHLY recommend booking time here for a romantic night away!!Rooms: The bed is memory foam...which I have never slept on before, so was a bit of an adjustment, but great night's sleep!!Noteworthy details: There is no wifi currently. We were able to connect to one of our phone's hot spots to be able to stream a movie.

It was the best stay I've had in all my travels. We will definitely be driving back here again. Loved it all. The cleanliness, the towels smelled so good, the beds were so comfy, the creek view so beautiful. Everything was fully stocked, just the way it should be. Nothing to complain about. My kids loved it.

My partner and l stayed here over the weekend and it was amazing! Check-in/check-out was very easy and the location was just a short drive from where we live! We stayed in "The View", very cozy and had amazing views! The only "issues" we ran into was the curtains wouldn't close all then way when we were ready to end the night and our heat turned off on it's own and we woke up freezing.. (There was a space heater and we used it to get warm again!) Other than those small malfunctions, it was perfect! We will be staying with them again in the future!

Absolutely loved everything about Four Fillies Lodge! It was seriously perfect in every way! We spent the night in the Wilderness Lodge cabin to break up a long drive home. The cabin was decorated beautifully down to every little detail. I wish we could have stayed for a month it was so peaceful. The grounds are gorgeous and we explored several of the trails and had fun skipping rocks down by the creek. The only advice I would give would be to bring your own wine/beer as the stores in town do not sell alcohol. We will definitely be back to stay longer!

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! It was so clean and comfortable with plenty of towels, great water pressure, comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen. We appreciated the Christmas tree to lend some festive spirit. I ordered some gourmet s'mores boxes and charcuterie boxes and they certainly didn't disappoint! They were very generous and included all sorts of extras. The fire pit was so nice and lent a cosy touch to our weekend. While there, everyone was already making plans to return to try a different lodging spit because they all looked so good! Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

Was a great stay for my family. We have five kids and the creek and fishing pond were perfect for them. Some played in the creek and others fished. The pond was great because they were small but constantly biting which kept the kids engaged. The Boat House was very clean and the property itself is very relaxing. Our family loved our stay there. We are glad we found it!

We stayed at The New River Gorge cabin 10-07-2022 thru 10-09-2022. The cabin was cute, the grounds were beautiful and well kept. The only downside I had is that the electric unit they had to heat the cabin could not keep up with the cold winter night. On our last night at the cabin I woke up to the unit putting out cold air in lieu of warm or hot air. It got rather cold as the outside temperature was around 25-30 degrees and the heating unit was blowing ice cold air into the cabin. Needless to say, we did not wait until 11:00 to check out! Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay very much.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place! We stayed in the Boathouse cabin for a weekend with our two dogs. The property is so perfect for relaxing and going on quiet walks with the dogs. It’s very clean and there is plenty of room to spread out away from other people. The cabin was amazing! It was super clean and the amount of detail put into decor makes it even better. We used the fire pit and the fireplace and it made the experience so lovely. We got ENGAGED on the adorable bridge, just the two of us and our pups. The representative that we spoke with on the phone and the caretaker are so friendly and helpful! We love to do weekend trips in different places, but this was the best experience so far.
