I am new to the area and my first encounter with mountain view was with a very sick dog. There was a mix-up in my appointments but they saw her anyway because she was so sick and I ended up having to put her down. they were just exceptional in helping me and my fur babies deal with this emotional time I highly recommend them... still love the vet. They are great cutting my dogs nails

Pleasant staff and customer service but I wasn't a big fan of how they make you wait outside in your vehicle, come get your pet, take them inside without you being able to accompany them, and then bring them back outside to you and then you have to pay at a window in which you are standing outside. Not sure exactly what the reasoning behind this is but in years past it was not the case. Would be much more comfortable to go inside and be present and ask questions.

I use to take my animals there until the owner basically said I had no respect for her time off when I messaged her a question on a Sunday. She could have ignored it until she was ready to reply. It may not have been urgent for her but it was for my household. I’ll be finding another vet as well as my family.

Much cheaper than the last vet I went to. Friendly knowledgeable staff. I brought in pet rats. The vet was able to check them out to make sure they are healthy. Before leaving she gave me some information to read on rat care. Also gave me a number of the closest vet that specializes in exotic pets. I feel good about taking my babies there again if they are ever sick. I feel like if the vet isn't sure what to do, she knows the right expert to call for help.

They were polite; however the cost is outrageous and it takes a weeks wage to get your dog spayed. I'd highly recommend that you go elsewhere and If you don't mind the drive; WV's price is $180-$220. It's a no brainer if ya ask me.

We were very pleased with the service we received from Mountainview. We had our one year old dog spayed and they were helpful, kind, and professional. Their prices were affordable and competitive with other facilities. We will definitely return again!

Took my dog there for a hair cut and a bath (he’s a Pomsky) had him for 3 hours and when I picked him up he looked the same as I picked him up and had chucks of hair missing from behind his ears and the lady that handled my dog was yanking him by the leash she also claimed he had mats but she told me she didn’t remove them. Smells like he was washed in dawn dish soap won’t be back $46 that I could have done a better job at home

I cannot say enough good things about this practice. Dr. Alt is fantastic! She is not only knowledgeable but very kind. I took her my very sick dog to see her. She was patient and explained everything so that I could understand. She was upfront with me about the costs and was willing to work within my budget. Katelyn is much better now. Many thanks to Dr. Alt and her wonderful staff.

I hate to be the kind of person that writes a review based on one interaction but I called the emergency line this evening because my elderly dog fell and was limping and I was scared. I recently moved 3 hours away from my home animal hospital and didn’t know what to do or who to call. He’s torn his ccl in both rear legs before so I was in a panic.The woman who answered the phone was short, cold, didn’t care to ask any questions to help guide me. She asked only if I was a regular patient and then told me if I wasn’t a regular patient they can’t help me. When I told her I had recently moved and don’t have a vet out here yet her suggestion was to “call your old vet”.I am sure the vets here are super qualified and kind people and I make no judgment over the quality of care they surely must provide during regular hours but if you’re in any sort of crisis I wouldn’t recommend calling here after hours because it will only make you feel worse.

I take my recent addition to the family here; my beautiful German Shepherd mix. I have also had other animals here and the service is quick and workers are friendly and helpful. My only pet peave lol, the prices can be a bit steep but this is to be expected at most vets. Nowadays, services are expensive.

I have always known this vets office was really good for taking in stray animals and finding them homes (I always see them posting on Facebook). I found a young stray kitten that I could not take in, so I called the office and the secretary could not have been more heartless. She obviously does not have any compassion for animals. Her exact words were "we don't take any cats in. So I really don't know what you should do" all of this was said in a very rude voice. I will not be returning to this office again.

I WILL NEVER USE THIS VET AGAIN!My 9 year old dog started showing lameness. After a week, I noticed a very hard lump on her shoulder. I immediately thought cancer and made an appointment with Mountainview in Petersburg.After looking at the lump, they took 4 x-rays and told me that she had fractured a bone and that the knot was her bodies way of healing. It had created a calcium deposit over the fracture to help in healing. I was so relieved! They told us to limit her activity for 4-6 weeks.After about 4 weeks, I noticed another larger tumor on her neck and immediately went to South Branch Animal Hospital for a second opinion. The vet there said that the tumor on her shoulder could be moved so he didn't think it was a calcium deposit.After a biopsy on both tumors, it was discovered to be a very aggressive cancer. Unfortunately, because of the position of the tumor on her neck (being so close to major arteries and nerves), surgically removing the tumors wasn't an option. She is now having to do chemo to try to shrink the size of the tumors and improve her quality of life.If only the tumor had been examined more properly the first time, it could have been removed and possibly prevented the second tumor and the spread of the cancer.Now, I get to play the "what if" card and think that I could have increased her odds of beating this if I had just taken her to South Branch the first time...

Worse place to take a sick animal of they don't know they guess which still ended up costing one cat his life and 11 more to be infected because they sent him back home to suffer for a week before he lost use of his back legs and was in too much pain got me to watch anymore. Then 4 days later one by one the cats and ,3 month old kittens started coughing and sneezing, some having to breath with their mouths open and we have no one to turn to for help in this county or any close by. Sadly no one seems to care.The Dr. lied to the one who took Marley in who was so sick that I thought for sure they would put him to sleep but after asking how much money he wàs willing to spend sent him home with antibiotics saying he had a parasite. Like I said he never recovered only got worse.
