I am so grateful for Parkersburg Vet Clinic’s support and as Gio’s mom, thank you to the volunteers at Helpings Hands and Hearts for Paws for blessing us with the ability to be seen by the doctors. I left Gio for a ministry trip and he was attacked outside before I left. He’s healed up no problem before, but this time he got worse and those I trusted him to failed to share he wasn’t eating and he was getting worse. I left a 9lb kitty and came home to a 4lb kitty. I am so thankful that we have the blessed ability to get him care and he is recovering with love and nurturing. I’ve had to feed him myself and love him through this time and through feeding time. And I thank you PVC for being there for us through all of this!Love Gio and his mom 🙏

My 16 year old best friend apparently had kidney disease and we never knew. We tried for a week to flush his kidneys but he was tired and his levels never got better. The staff was friendly and so kind during his stay and treatments.They also didn’t try to talk me into spending any extra the Veterinarians were very real and logical and I appreciate that so much. We were able to bring him home for one more day to be ‘king kitty’ of the house again so we could say goodbye.The hardest decision I’ve had to make was to let Zero go. I’ve never been through it before and the staff really go above and beyond to make it as easy as they can given the circumstances.I truly appreciate that it’s possible to take care of everything with them. I’m not sure I could have handled having to call around and figure out cremation and all that.It was truly a blessing in many ways that they can also take care of that why you grieve.

3 days before Christmas, i had to have my pitbull put down after 12 years. The staff were incredibly caring and patient as we said our final goodbyes. Only giving 5 stars because I can't give 10.

Our 1 year old PooChon had diarrhea for almost a month. He was being treated by another Veterinarian. Was not getting better. We took him to see Dr Todd Shockey. He submitted a stool sample to the lab and found that is was a bacterial infection. After 5 weeks on medication he is a healthy active dog. I give Dr Shockey and staff 5 stars. They were all so caring and kind. FYI. I’m a retired Vet Tech of 29 years.

I took my toy puddle puppy there for her shots and they were absolutely amazing with her. Everyone wanted a cuddle from her. She has a hernia and Dr. Jen have kept a close eye on it and given me things to do at home to help with it. I couldn't ask for a more amazing staff to look after my little girl.

We always have a wonderful time when coming in to see the vet and they are always so good with my dog who has issues with reactivity. They always give her lots of attention and love and I feel like they take the time to listen to my concerns.

I feel like the ones who work the front and deal with every customer in person or on the phone really keep the place together for the ones in the back to care for our fur babies. This will be the 2nd fur baby appt from me. I will continue to bring my fur babies to this vet hospital. Even weeks after Krown’s surgery they called just to check up. Thanks guys.

Dr. Shockey has been wonderful doing my dog's acl surgeries. Yes surgeries, my dog blew out both rear legs. Staff is kind and nice but hope the scale off a little lol.

My Millie randomly became Ill out of nowhere. We first drove 2 hours to an emergency vet that did nothing. R came to this office and they fit us in right away. The vet saw my Millie was very sick and kept her. She need abdominal surgery and the vet started it yesterday evening. Upon staring her surgery the vet noticed a tumor had ruptured and our girl was full of cancer. He called me, and had the utmost compassion for my family. He gave me my options and did not lead me either way but rather gave me his medical advice. We decided it was best to let Millie go as she was suffering and may not have a very healing future. We were a mess and the vet listened with kind ears to my broken heart. The compassion I was showed was amazing. I know they showed my girl love in her final moments and I hope they told her goodbye for me. We are grieving heavily and I’m just glad she was in good hands for her last moments. Thank you for trying to save our girl and do right by her. We will be bring our other cat here for a full exam to be safe and I know this place only shows love and compassion to the animals and clients.

So grateful for this place. They were quick to get us in and were very caring to my pup. We first got treated for kennel cough and then went back after symptoms were still continuing after finishing his meds. Turns out he had allergies too. They didn't try to force any extra testing or meds to up my bill either. They even gave him a doctor's note to be re-addmitted back into his daycare facility.

I had an appointment to get our dog spayed.The staff are very caring and took excellent care of our 135 lb Mastiff.They even called twice after surgery to see how she was doing.I would highly recommend Parkersburg Veterinary Hospital.

Sadly, we had to have our dog put to sleep after 14 years of companionship. His body was worn out and it was time. Parkersburg Veterinary Hospital handled everything with care and professionalism. The cost was also considerably lower than the Mineral Wells Vet Clinic.

I breed American Bully’s in Florida and had to be in WVA due to family . Dr. Shockey and his staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure my girl had a smooth pregnancy. He made the call to do her C-Section due to large puppies and he was 100% correct in ALL in his decisions . Even the office manager spoke to me to reassure me after I had a small issue with a staff member. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VET FOR ALL YOUR NEEDS , especially pregnancy and C -Section . They truly care about your fur baby !!!! I have 4 healthy puppies and a healthy mom thanks to this place ! BULLY BREEDERS GO SEE Dr. Shockey !

On the outside everything appears to be nice, but in October of 2020, my dog (being a pug) was diagnosed as diabetic and things went down hill from there. We left him at the facility to get stabled and while in their care he was somehow injured. $1500.00 later and to this day no one that was caring for him can tell me what happened to him. Had I brought him in injured the attending vet should have notated it in his file. While he was there he was seen by another vet who called me to give update on his status and said, I'm not sure what happened or if your dog was brought in this way but there appears to be a puncture wound on his back, I said he was not brought in that way. She didn't offer to find out what happened or anything. Now my thinking was, why would you ask me about him being injured if you had looked at his file because it would have on his record about visible injuries. Sorry to be long winded but my suggestion is to look at your dog and take pictures of him/her if you have to leave them for whatever reason. Here are the pictures of his injuries. I tried to get better pics of the first one but he kept moving he also had another injury right down from the other one. He ended up going blind and passed away not to long ago. R.I.P little buddy.

These vets didn't know anything they thought a skin infection was a hernia on my puppy said he needed surgery and pumped him full of a poisionois medication. He survived that and was sick for along time after then started to get better when we noticed his infection came back took him again to have them pump him full of convenia medication that is dangerous to the kidneys and he was only ten pounds so I feel like they should of known better. I can't ever bring any pets to them again. I'm sorry but the truth is they should of known. Another reason they wanted to open him back up a second time for 1700 to 3 Grand but they didn't see anything and then they said we'll he isn't healthy enough anyways put him down.but the whole time it was the medicine they gave him that made him sick! Just be careful with the medications they use bc everything isn't as safe as you think it is. INJECTION OF ANTIBIOTICS KILLED MY BABY! Never again I'm sorry they seemed caring but didn't know what was wrong with him and it cost him his life. Say what you will..

I had my beloved cat Oscar put to sleep because he was in kidney failure. He was 18 years old and very much a part of my family. He was my moms cat but the entire family loved him. We waited for them to come to the room. Once the female short longhaired vet entered the room she was cold and rushed. My mom who is a two time war veteran and very up in years, went to the car. I stayed to be there for Oscar till he passed. It was even more horrible than anything I could imagine. They were rough and he screamed. Oscar never screamed, ever. This was it, the last memory I would have. They then rushed me out the side door. I was dizzy, stumbled to the door as I was being ushered out. This all seems like a nightmare. I had another cat put to sleep there a year ago. The vet that was with me then, Anne Casto, was wonderful. So kind and loving with my cat Ray and I. So I guess I’m saying be careful who you choose. God bless you and all your pets.

Very thorough, and quickly got to the root of the problem with my dear companion dog. Turned out she had Lyme disease. They gave me an full coverage treatment plan. They conducted an in- depth bank of blood work, along with a thorough exam. I felt they were kind and compassionate, and even though my fur baby felt miserable, they put her at ease and did all of her exams, tests, etc with very little stress on her part. (Mom, not so much.. I was worried). However, they put me at ease as well.I had to take her in on an emergency basis, so the rate for that was higher than a scheduled appointment, but overall I feel their rates are typical for our area, but their care was exceptional. We have never been disappointed with their care with any of our pets.The clinic is convenient and easy to access. The clinic itself is always spotless, well kept and inviting with a spacious waiting room, which is beautifly decorated. There is plenty of space around seating areas so you're pet doesn't feel overwhelmed by the other pets waiting for their appointments. parking is easy on and out with plenty of space right in front of the clinic.Overall, I highly recommend this clinic. You can be confident your pet will get the best of care.

Great quality care ❤! My 4mth old baby was petrified when I left her for her surgery, but she was quickly made to feel comfortable and did fabulous! She was so calm and happy when I picked her up. You would never know she just had surgery!! Everyone there works together like a well oiled machine!

Lost my best friend today. Sampson. We took him in to see Dr. Todd Shockey and he really cares about your pet. He did everything in his power to help us. When there was always a question that needed answered he was there. He was there to help us make the tough call with our boy Sampson. Once cancer spreads so far, there's nothing you can do. I will now and forever take my animals to see Dr. Shockey. The Vienna branch did everything in their power to make us feel comfortable. Thank you Todd. You're awesome.

Our family dog is in need of care and they refused to see him because they were going to close in 40 minutes. I am so glad that they care so little about family pets and is more focused on getting home. I would give them zero stars but unfortunately it won’t allow me to do so.I also failed to mention how the wonderful lady hung up on me. I wouldn’t suggest anyone to use this establishment. Very few people have had a good experience with them.
