I have read quite a few of these reviews and all I can speak about is my experience on my 2.or 3 visits. The store was pretty clean for an older building and a little cramped for space... However... The rodent pets were all in clean cages... I saw no dead fish... I saw the ferret cage clean and covered. The puppies cages are small and wire as stated... But puppies are small and they are not there long. The pups and the cages are clean and they had stuffed animals they played with and laid on... As far as the prices... Well i never figured i would ever pay what I did for my puppy but I did price them at the other pet stores and they're so much more expensive . They had a great selection of pups and other pets as well... I purchased this little guy a few days ago. I found the staff Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It was an easy and pleasant transaction. Thank you

Just got a bunny from here and we were incredibly pleased with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The animals were very well cared for, the cages were clean and spacious. Very good pet store.

Bought my conure (700 dollars) here a few days ago. Noticed tail bobbing the very same day so I called. The girl said she’d talk to someone and call me back. Never did. It was just me and bird all night. My kids came home the next day to meet the bird and noticed she was still bobbing and also frantically pacing the bottom of her cage. This bird is constantly scratching itself and is barely eating food. Called again and she told me that there’s a female there that takes birds home once in a while to try to hand tame them and she’ll talk to her. Again, didn’t hear back.I do have birds and I have taken them to a vet before and I have always been told tail bobbing is a sign of a respiratory illness or a possible infection but the owner admittedly didn’t know what bobbing was but said if it was sick it sure wasn’t bc of their store. Even tho I had it less than 24 hours when I noticed. So accused me of making it sick.When I asked how old the bird was in the store, they told me they got it in in January so I thought it couldn’t have been more than 9 months old. When I called the first time was told it was over a year?!!!!During the conversation with the owner she told me it had been there a VERY long time.This bird isn’t eating or doing anything but sitting in a little fluff ball on its perch which isn’t what I’ve ever experienced with a new bird. They have at least explore their cage or pick another spot to sit at or even shake it’s feathers out but not her.Ma’am you have way too many birds in such a small space you have no idea what you’re exposing them to that stress alone can make a bird sick.The owner kept over talking me and she clearly seemed agitated and short tempered. She thinks just because she has the animal in the store, she can tell you everything there is to know about it and u have no idea what you’re talking about.I am taking my bird to a vet and if there needs to be any treatment for illness I would imagine the owner should be responsible and pay for those costs for selling a sick bird.

I was in on Monday and bought a yellow with peach face lovebird today is Tuesday and I really truly don't know how I made it through life without this crazy bird it has brighten my day so much for the love and the care that you put into your animals it shows you guys are great I would recommend anybody to buy any animal from you all once again thank you foeverything purchase is getting along

I go there mainly for small feeder fish (Rosy Reds, they call them, slightly smaller than the goldfish they sell) to feed my "longnose gar" they have a few varieties of birds and several rodents and small cage pets. It's been a while since I've walked through the store although it's not all that large, so I couldn't say if they still have puppies and kittens or not. They did at one time. But the widest selection they have is definitely aquatic life. Fish and amphibious creatures, snails, crabs, and other swimming things take up half the space in the building. And they have all the aquarium supplies you need for such things. This place really is a good example of the saying "the name says it all" The staff is also fairly knowledgeable and helpful. The fact that it's about 2 miles from my house may also be a factor as to why I get my feeders there.

Wasn't a bad place, prices seemed ok, staff seemed ok, animals like the dogs were in a pretty small cage tho, but things seemed clean for the most part.

I've bought a couple hundred dollars worth of fish here within a month. Never had a issue. The last time I was there on 7-21-22 I purchased 80 dollars worth of fish an snails. As the young lady was catching my fish, one Guarami jumped from the pail an fell about 4 feet to the ground. I still agreed to buy the fish as I was told I had 24 hour guarantee. I bought these fish at 5:45PM. The following morning I had a dead guarami and 4 dead Mystery Snails. I called the shop as soon as they opened that morning. The guy i spoke to agreed to refund me or switch them out for the same fish. I explained I couldn't come that day because of work. I was instructed to freeze the fish an snails an come in at my convenience. Today 8-2-22 I stopped by the shop to purchase some items an a few fish. roughly 50 dollars worth. I asked the owner of the store if he could remove the total amount of my dead fish from my bill. He cooked a attitude with me an said I only had a 24hr warranty an when I called in the 24 hours where almost up. which isnt true at all. however almost still isn't over 24 hours in my defense. He then tried saying his notes only mentioned 2 snails and nothing more. the girl whom sold me the the fish was there an remembered every detail but wouldn't stand up for me. the owner refused to make this right an was very rude to me. after spending so much money in this store I gained absolutely no respect. I left my items on the counter an walked out. I will not return to this pet store. they have lost my business.

The staff here are very helpful and explaining how to take care of your animals. I have a ball python ( little) and the staff helped me in getting the right food. I appreciate the help .... will definitely come back!

I had an appointment with the groomers on Wednesday the 12th. They called to reschedule for Friday the 14th. Friday came and they left a voice mail saying they couldn't do it then either and never called to reschedule. I called almost every day and they were never in. I called again yesterday and once again they were not in but they took my name and number. They called today and acted like I missed the appointment! Then they said they couldn't get her in until February 9th! I will never go back to this unprofessional business!

Always great. Two out of the four of my favorite Girls went with myself and my sister to get fish for her outside pond. The Lady that was helping us made sure the girls were able to pet a puppy before leaving. That was really nice. Thank You!

I drive a truck and stopped at Speedway for fuel when I noticed this little gem. I LOVE privately owned pet stores and will definitely be back and hopefully be able to spend more time browsing. And my dog loves the knuckle I picked up for her

Usually very helpful; however, I had called to ask about a warning sign with regards to their ferrets because one had gotten a bit too aggressive with my fiancee. It bit her, breaking the skin. Yes, there was a warning. What left me in shock was that when I had called only minutes later to inform someone that is there may not be a sign and that the ferrets were aggressive, they may want to post one if not, I was met with aggression and hostility. The man on the phone attempted to insult my intelligence with regards to the sign. Also, he had mentioned that the top of the cage was fully covered, which was half covered, and proceeded to argue with me that I was wrong and it was completely covered. It was not. I was simply trying to let someone know that one of their ferrets is slightly aggressive. I did not expect the reaction of a five year old throwing a temper tantrum from a grown man when I was trying to be civil. I will not be returning. It's a shame too... we really did enjoy shopping and visiting this establishment.

Beautiful, clean pet shop! Very friendly people! Everything is very fairly priced, and the animals are VERY healthy. I bought a rat from there yesterday and it's the sweetest thing ever. Will most definitely come back in the future! :)

My family and I went to this pet store to get hermit crab items. When we walked in the door we were really impressed how clean the store was and how it did not smell like animals in there. The store offered everything you possibly could imagine that would be needed for all pet walks of life. I would truly recommend this store to others and will be returning again when stuff is needed for my animals.

They keep puppies in small cages for thousands of dollars. They looked miserable. How about instead of worrying about masks, social distancing guidelines, and following the arrows in your store, you start worrying about the health of the animals in your store. Which btw, prices aren’t that great, and while the selection of accessories and toys are okay, the food isn’t. They have trash food like purina chow. I left the store with no respect.

Would not recommend for pet grooming, $50+ for a small dog (15lbs) and that fee may or may not include bathing & nail clipping.Our dog was finished in 2 hours, but was only shaved, not flea bathed, and hadn't had nails trimmed like previous visits.

Cool place with unique items for all pets and they sell a bunch of different animals. They also sell candleberry products! Very knowledgeable staff. Parking is in a gravel parking lot but I believe no steps going into the door if you have a wheelchair.

I have been taking my Bella there and she's a toy / miniature poodle for almost three years now Charity is her groomer, and they're also nice over there and Bella goes nuts when we are like a mile away she knows or if we drive by she'll perk up off the seat and start getting excited in case we would stop.

I got my first and second hamster there. I am going to pick up a guinea pig in a few months. Everytime I have went in there they were friendly and helpful and made me feel at home. Their animals are great and they carry all suppiles.

They know soooo much about animals. They groom my dog, but I recently decided to get large fish tank. They helped me with every step, setup, maintenance, fish choices etc. All around the best small petstore in parkersburg. Staff is amazing, grooming services are always 5+ stars. I also love supporting local business. Keep it up b.v., your awesome!!

Bought an adorable baby rabbit here for my grandson. Her name is Heidi and she is healthy and happy. Was able to buy everything i needed for her right there in the store.
