My dog had stomach issues during the night and I brought him to Oak Hill Animal Hospital, which is his normal vet, and today I was thoroughly pleased with the extra attention and care we got today. Dr. Bostic was able to sit with me and give options/cost estimates, patiently answered all my questions, and encouraged the choices I made as an owner. We would also like to thank the young gentleman vet tech (whose name I unfortunately forgotten, very sorry!) who is always kind and gentle with my incredibly nervous little guy and always updates me on the progress being made on tests or letting me know my wait time.Highly recommend this vet hospital if you're looking for wonderful staff to take the utmost care of you and your pets.

My Baby was on his third day of being sick. He was so sick that we have no clue how he even made it. We took him to Oak Hill animal hospital were they diagnosed him with Parvo and worms a very serious case of worms at that because he has been dewormed regularly. He had lost so much weight and in three days was so weak and was barely fighting for his life and not a lot of people thought he was gonna make it, at one point I honestly think he gave in I began to cry and beg God to give me some more time with my baby boy, that I think of as my own child. I just needed him to hang on for five more hours till I get him to the vet and at that exact time! He got up, walked to the kitchen and took a drink of water and Continued to drink. He came back in my room and laid down for the few hours we had to wait for them to open. Soon as they opened, I took him in. They said he they wanted to keep him for three or four days they were going to do the best they can for him when I tell you, I picked him up four days later and he had gone back to his normal ways, so happy wagging his tail. His s weight was back he even had more hair in the spots. He would scratch off from itching himself from his dry skin. When I tell you, it was like picking up a brand new dog that never was sick. I mean the words that are coming out of my mouth it was a true miracle, so I have to thank the good Lord above number one and then Oak Hill animal Hospital because without them, my baby boy would not be alive today. So if anyone wants some recommendations on where to go it would be my best advice for you to go to Oak Hill Animal Hospital. Not to mention that I can’t put a price on my baby but I know everyone don’t have it like that because I know I didn’t and by that I mean all them unnecessary extra charges that a lot of vets will do. The lady didn’t try to extort my love for my baby they weren’t no money hungry individuals who played on your heartstrings to get your money. They are definitely very affordable, depending on the severity of the case, of course.

New to area, used this vet per family suggestion. First visit with 6 month old pup went well with kind courteous staff. Dr. seemed busy but not so busy as to not spend adequate time with each person. I will continue with them in the future. Also, I paid less than I had expected to pay.

They was good I gave them 3 stars cause I didn't like them taking my cat back with out me and they didn't give me enough antibiotics and probotics but the staff was nice and office very clean

Open at weird hours. And had alot of signs posted about there policies on the front door. I have a special needs child that can't be restricted by a mask. And they had a sign that if you were coughing you would be asked to leave. I had a sick kitty coughing due to upper respiratory infection. My girls had it also. My husband referred me here so I know they are good people. I just didn't like there random hours and policy. And I couldn't get in to get scheduled due to there opening hours of operation. It would be a good place for elders or people with health issues or anyone wanting to avoid covid or illness.

They were so good to me I had to take my cat Sammy their and had to let him go after almost 16 years he was 7 weeks old when I got him from RCHS they was so understanding I was all heart broken 😭😭💔 to lose him he loved me as much as I loved him and will never for get him God Bless them all who helped me through this time of my life him and my Smokey is all I have Smokey knows something is going on he is sad they ran and played a lot

I just started going here about 2 years ago. It's a great place. The staff and doctors are very kind and compassionate. I drive from Beckley I live within 10 minutes from the vet in Beckley. But they have been extremely good with my dogs and cats.

I've always liked this place but last time I sent my son in to get my dogs flea/tick.and heartworm they acted rude and said she hadn't been there for a long time. I took her in June for a physical and this was in September to get pills. How often do you need to go? I may switch. The lady at the desk is rude and gave us pills for dogs heavier. I weighed my dog. She's exactly 10 pounds. The pill made her sick. I've had dogs all my life. I'm not a Dr. But neither is she. Before I had a yorkie with pancreatitis and diabetes. She was blind. She was kept for ivs. When I picked her up and took her home she had a perfectly round infected opening in her hip badly infected. The told me to put a cone on her. So they did. I got home and she had taken out the drain. I immediately took her back and waited another hour to fix it. She didn't have that hole before. The pain she had to be in. She passed in 17. I have pictures. It was terrible. I bought insulin and special food and everything I could to help her. When she passed her dr never even said "I'm sorry"

They have always treated my animals and my family with respect. All 3 of the vets I've seen there have been amazing. From our normal visits to the worst-case scenario, the whole staff is great. I highly recommend them. The hours are a little hard to get in but with some planning, it can work out well.

This animal hospital charged us $300 deposi t for seeing our cat. After the fact they kept our cat and said he would have a 30% chance of living but he died over night. Then the animal hospital called and said I am sorry but your cat died last night,and they said we owe you some money back. When my wife went to get our cats body they charged us $94 more dollars. This place is a uncaring money making scammer place!! And a lawyer is getting involved.

One of my two cats is very antisocial. She always does so well with the vets here! They’re so patient and quick about giving her the vaccinations she needs! Highly recommend this place!! 😻

It was our first visit to Oak Hill Animal Shelter. We were treated with extreme courtesy, and professionalism. We had 3 dogs, which had multiple issues going in. The Dr. was sweet and gentle, calmed my dogs(didn't get her name)and very efficient and expedient. Her assistant was very nice, they were really good team. We could tell they really love their jobs and excelled. I would highly recommend Oak Hill Animal Hospital to anyone needing services for their animals.

They are very wonderful and very affordable. I had taken my kitten there with unknown causes and they ended up keeping her for four days. They treated her so well and made sure I was informed on everything that they did to her. I am sad to say that she did pass away, but they tried their best to find out what was wrong with her. I highly recommend them.

Was very pleased with the care they gave our dog baby this week!! Dr Schwen was wonderful and so caring with him. Laura the vet tech was also amazing through the process and gave me extra peace of mind during his surgery and recovery. Dr Osborne also came in the day of surgery to look him over and reassure us of the process. Wonderful staff and they won our hearts. Griffon is doing amazing and we are thankful for the outcome. Dr. Schwen stitched him so well that it barely looked like a scratch the next day and he has bounced back to normal much faster than I anticipated. Thank you to everyone who cared for him this week. I highly recommend them after this experience!!

Staff is friendly and helpful while the Doctors are the best! They saved our cat while being very reasonable and up front on costs. We have our furry family member healthy and they were as helpful and reasonable as you could expect.

This hospital and staff are awesome. They took the time to see my fur-baby while in WV when she became ill visiting family. Of course, it was after hours on a Friday night (these fur-babies) never seem to get ill during office hours. They not only saw my precious chi but treated her as if she was a long time patient. Which we may become - they are worth the drive.Thank you again for treating my Sissy Girl when she needed it most.

While understanding they are a business. They could show a little compassion to animals they claim to love. I visited them the evening of 8/7/17 to try and get credit to care for a sick kitten. ( upper respiratory infection, not eating or drinking, normally IV fluid and antibiotics. Not all that expensive. ) I wouldn't have asked for any help whatsoever normally, but I've had some significant expense here recently and thought I might be able to be billed. I was turned down for a line of credit they ask you to apply for because I don't have enough open accounts. ( never believed in buying stuff you couldn't pay for. ) And they told me "unfortunately we won't be able to help you." They ignored a very sick kitten and a visibly distressed grown man. Turning her away was almost assuredly a death sentence. I'll update further if she passes as a result. Thank you, Oak Hill Animal Hospital, for helping ever so much in our time of need.

Friendly professional staff but they are not there when you need them. Waited over two hours to see the vet. Walk-ins only do not make appointments . Great care by the vet but dog had a heart attack or stroke on the way home at 1:30 and they would not answer the phone. Their hours are 9-11 and 4-7. Not good for owners and pets. My dog died on the way to another doctor.
