Great service. Great Business. After receiving our first fish tank for my toddler's birthday, we decided we needed another fish or two to serve as a companion for 'Nemo' her current fish (which was also purchased at Exotic Jungle as part of her gift.) So setting the scene... in walks a dad and his daughter... with zero knowledge about fish or a tank... and at 10 minutes to closing on a Sunday -- you know, the perfect scenario. To our benefit, the staff was extremely helpful and took the time to both help us with our needs, but also to help educate us on what we should and should not do when selecting our fish, maintaining the tank and just overall understanding. At no point did we feel rushed and can only complement the gentlemen who took this time to help us. They were also great with my daughter, who was clearly on a mission to find 'Dori' and 'Marlin'.And then to even seal the deal a step further... As I was checking out, another customer came in the door -- literally at closing time -- and the same gentlemen told the customer to still come in and take her time with whatever she needed. I do not believe he was the owner, but that type of customer service needs acknowledged, as it earned a new client for life. Thank you.

Worked here for a period of time. While I don't think the owner is a bad person, she definitely is not qualified to work in customer service or animals. Came to work here hoping to gain more knowledge on caring for different pets, but ended up not being trained on anything really at all. Was never shown where different items are, so when customers would ask for certain items I'd have to quickly try and navigate the store to figure out where they were as frequently there would be nobody else there to assist, and the store was rearranged so often it was hard to keep track. Was never told how to properly handle or care for animals, and would have to quickly look for either the owner or another employee somewhere in the store to get answers and care details to bring back to customers who were looking at purchasing certain animals. We were told that we would be fired if we allowed customers to purchase certain items for their pets that were not to the owner's specifications, which weren't always even correct. She'd flat out refuse to sell to people who wanted things such as heat bulbs or substrate for their reptiles, even if they weren't purchasing the animal there. People who would return to the store saying that their pet was ill or died, she would immediately say it was something wrong with how the customer was either handling the animal or that they had the wrong setup. Other than her and the manager, she did not train any of the employees how to use the register so whenever someone was waiting at the counter I'd have to go back and look for her and let her know someone was waiting to check out, which she would often respond with by saying that she was busy and couldn't keep running up to the front of the store every few minutes. If she was on a vacation and we had a question, she would similarly get upset if we would either text or call to ask her and make sure we were giving accurate information about product, pricing, etc. saying we shouldn't bother her while she was away and occasionally tossing in threats to fire us if we couldn't figure it out. She treated the manager particularly poorly, often making him work full shifts for two straight weeks. She would always write schedules for us and post them up in our break room, just to change the schedule again within a few days so nobody ever had a definite solid schedule. When another employee got sick and had to leave their shift early, she immediately made comments accusing her of faking to get out of work and once again threatening to fire. The store has a few free roaming cats, none of them dog friendly, so we would have to keep close eye out for people coming in and out of the store with their dogs to let them know that basically they weren't allowed to approach the cats or they might try to attack their dog. The vast majority of animals were not housed properly, a lot of cages being overcrowded with animals that should not be housed with others, as there weren't nearly enough tanks or cages to accommodate the amount of animals there were. Because of this there would be dead animals almost every day, particularly reptiles, and again she would sometimes accuse her employees who were already not trained well, of letting her animals die when they weren't even in good conditions to begin with. The AC in the store was broken so it was often suffocatingly hot throughout which made it harder to go in and work in the room with all the reptiles as the entire room was already kept at a significantly higher temperature than the rest of the shop. A lot of products were broken or outdated too, because many of the items were overstocked and put up on high shelves with no chance of anyone ever seeing or reaching them. Pay was extremely low, even for employees who has worked there for an extended period of time. Would not recommend visiting or working at this store. You'll probably have to deal with employees who unfortunately don't have the right information or training, pets with health problems, or an owner who just altogether treats her customers and her workers pretty poorly

No complaints at all. I wanted a Betta fish and she helped me right away. So glad fish not kept in tiny containers. Very satisfied. Oh, and she had a variety yo choose from.

This store has a wide variety of bedding, toys, and food but they DO NOT take care of their animals very well AT ALL. The birds were ontop of eachother lose eggs everywhere and bloodied from fighting, reptiles were in near bare tanks with just water dishes, not too mention the humidity was awful, most of the rodents were over run in numbers bc of uncontrolled breeding. Staff were not friendly or helpful. I do not recommend this store.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Very untrusting of the customers and got rude with me when I said I was going to put the reptile I was getting into a 10 gallon tank when he just came out of a 5 gallon tank with about 6 other snakes at their store. I walked right out the door. Smells terrible very disorganized and expensive.

I worked here for over a little month. Employees were not trained properly to care for animals. Workers were mostly girls in high school with little experience with animals. Employer is not nice towards workers. Tends to talk to other employees about others. Did not pay well, give enough hours. The working conditions were terrible, my first two weeks I was stuck with a severe heat rash all over my body and she did not care. Was also promised more pay than I ever got regardless how hard worked. Prices were also higher than market price. Do not recommend working or buying here.

I was a great experience. My daughter wanted a leopard gecko and the staff member was very knowledgeable about them and was able to answer all our questions with ease. Will definitely return for all of our pets needs. Great family business focused on our families pets needs.

Reptiles are in very poor condition, almost all of them have stuck shed and some are housed with multiple others which is something you should NOT do unless it is a species that thrives in cohabitation, which the reptiles in question do not. The staff were also quite rude when I attempted to purchase a reptile, refusing to sell when I told them my heating method would be a heat lamp (didn't even ask what kind, they just heard the word heat lamp and decided I didn't know what I was talking about, for context I own two ball pythons that have heat lamps and are perfectly healthy with no stuck shed or dry skin), then demanded that I buy product to their specification if I still wanted to purchase the reptile, even though their own reptiles are being kept in subpar condition. Would not recommend this store to anyone looking for advice on reptile care nor to purchase one.

Firstly I will put this disclaimer out there - ALWAYS do YOUR OWN research into any animal you get, and don't listen to just one single person that likely doesn't know what they are talking about, as in this case. I went there recently to purchase a ball python that I've been wanting for a while - a piebald. Well, this shop usually has this morph for relatively cheap so I did some browsing. My first visit to this location, there were 3 dead tree frogs the moment I walked into the store. The girl I told literally threw them away when I told her but I guess she couldn't have done much else. The massive wall of amphibians has since been taken down, because, well, they were constantly dying. My most recent experience was me browsing the reptile room for my snake of choice. Well, they are in the most APALLING condition I have ever seen reptiles in. People think PetCo is bad? Yeah, you wouldn't want to see the reptiles here. Constantly have stuck shed, every bearded dragon I have ever seen has been housed with more than one and are overweight and CRAMPED into small enclosures that they can't even move around in. There is a basilisk in there with NO way to enjoy any water. Every gecko in there is lethargic and probably suffering with metabolic bone disease and some didn't even have their tails. The owner houses multiple snakes in the same enclosures which is a HUGE no no, as any reptile owner would know that snakes DO NOT COHAB WELL. You might see them "snuggled up" but in reality that is their only option for a hide. One hide is disgusting. There is no "warm and cool side" in the tanks as they don't use heat mats and they do not use heat lamps so the snakes cannot properly regulate their body temperatures. The humidity levels are AWFUL in there. Like I said before there is stuck shed on almost every animal. I have never seen anyone house their reptiles in such deplorable condition. Now we get to the best part - the owner and her rookie that decided to tell me I was housing my reptiles wrong. When I told her I wanted a snake, she started asking me questions about them. Ok, fair, I respect that. Until her rookie decided to start being snotty and saying "substrate is bad because they could eat it" and then said "you never hear about snakes in the wild dying to eating dirt but thats because no one is there to see it happen!" Firstly, compaction issues have rarely happened with substrate like coco fibre and aspen. Sand is the issue when it comes to compaction which I DO NOT use. Secondly, they literally has 2 sand boas in a tank WITH SAND as substrate and they were just fine. Thirdly, they demanded we use reptile carpet instead. Now anyone with common sense can conclude that reptile carpet is like normal carpet - nasty and full of bacteria and dirt. What do snakes produce whenever they poop and pee? Bacteria. Bacteria that they wallow in unless you clean the carpet every time they have a bowel movement. Carpet grants you with NO benefits to enrichment or the quality of life for the snake. They then demanded I stop using heat lamps for my reptiles - there is nothing wrong with using a lamp as long as you know what you are doing with it. Clearly these people are too brain dead to realize this. The owner very nastily exclaimed "ItS lIkE BaKiNg iN tHe SuN aLl DaY!" The specific reptile I am talking about, being a ball python, needs to have a hot side of their enclosure (92 at MAX) and a cool side (80-85). A lamp with a proper dial and a proper bulb will hold temps at the appropriate level for the snake to thrive. Some snakes don't like lamps, so heat mats are always an option. As i stated before, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. Honestly, the amount of ignorance, arrogance and pure stupidity in the conversation i had with these people was enough to make Saint John curse and Jesus to sin. It is never "My way or the highway" in reptile keeping, there are so many different ways to do it RIGHT, and God only knows how these people have found to ONLY DO IT WRONG. TL:DR Do your own research and don't support this appalling "pet store."

I was visiting from out of town and found a wide selection of food, toys and supplies for both domestic and exotic pets. It's not every store where you can meet a tortoise walking down the aisle.

Had the best experience picking up our LEOPARD GECKO! They wanted to see our set up, which I can appreciate since these reptiles require specific things. They answered all of our questions and they were super patient as my 8yo daughter picked out her gecko! Thank you Exotic Jungle!

The store is so dirty It feels so disgusting walking around looking at items. I Could never work there either due to that reasoning. First photo is the hard shells, second photo is a picture of all the bugs inside the water fountain.I bought a water fountain for my snake cage. Everything seemed to be fine. I then noticed there were bugs in my snake cage. I did some searching inside the snake cage to find out why or where they were coming from. There were hard shells that was stuck on the sides and inside of the water fountain. I pulled the hard shells off the water fountain, there it was bugs ran everywhere. Not even sure what kind of bugs they were, but I believe it’s due to the store being so dirty and things not cleaned.I will NOT be returning to this store due to the place being so clustered and things being so Dirty. Now discovering that there were BUGS on the item I purchased and just knowing The fact that I brought home bugs from a store is disgusting. Very very unsatisfied!!

Please do not buy a pet here I beg you. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I don't know how this place has not been shut down. I ignored the warnings and things I witnessed and it cost me dearly. I went to buy a small animal and was talked into purchasing a chinchilla with all the supplies too. The chinchillas were kept about ten or so in an approximately 5 by 3 glass terrarium with a few dust baths. The chinchillas were also tiny, but I didn't realize they probably weren't the correct age until after I consulted someone in the pet industry. While there I also had held a hedgehog and it had pooped on me so a young employee let me in the back to wash it off and there were fish swimming in a wash sink. The manager got noticeably irritated that I had been allowed back there. Anyway five days into letting my female chinchilla acclimate I woke up to find her dead curled up in the corner of her cage. The manager told me to bring her body in and she'd see what she could do. When I returned to the store as instructed, already so sad by the loss, the manager was nowhere to be found. She instructed a young employee what to say and do via phone. She literally asked and insinuated that I had dropped my beloved pet or "mishandled" her as chinchillas are quite fragile. I was insulted. To make matters worse they suggested I pick out a "new" one! I was so traumatized from this loss I couldn't handle another pet for months. Im a huge pet lover and bonded with my chinchilla Dolly already, she couldn't just be replaced. They also said they wouldn't get an autopsy unless I paid for it. I received no refund on the pet or supplies, totalling $250, per their flimsy no returns policy. This lady showed zero sympathy. This was over a year ago and I'm only now writing this review because this place was recently brought up as a recommendation to others and I refuse to be scared into silence. I did contact the bbb when it happened. Since then I have adopted 2 cats and a dog which are very much alive, well cared for, and loved.

Our favorite local pet store has a great selection of reptiles and amphibians, all kinds of small animals and a store full of equipment for just about every animal. We have a tortoise, hedgehog, and tree frogs from them, all of which are healthy and thriving.

Keeps reptiles in horrible conditions. Ball pythons, and Leopard Geckos underweight/sickly looking. Over weight Bearded Dragons. No water, or hiding spots for the animals. Over priced. Wasn’t greeted as I walked in, or was asked if I needed help with anything. Support a local breeder. Don’t mill shop.

I got a guinea pig from there and immediately realized when I got home that he was infested with lice. He was in a tank with many other guinea pigs so I know those other guinea pigs went to new homes with a lice infestation too. Not to mention that they didn’t even have any hay in the tank.

I stopped in today for the first time and all expectations were met. Nowhere did I find evidence of unethical or negligent treatment of the animals, though the appearance of the store gave me questions at first, but I realized that's just because the building and flooring is just old.One of the best tests for how a place treats its animals is the condition of their Betta Fish, which was stellar in this case. Not only was their selection and quality amazing, but these fish had at least 4-6x the amount of water that you'd find in most retailers. These fish displayed alertness and health in a way that made me want to make the 3-hour drive if I ever want a betta in the future, because these were the best I've ever seen. The only two parrots I saw seemed content and inquisitive as well, with clean cages-clean cages and tanks were the norm in this store. They had other awesome fish as well, though I was disappointed to find no Koi fish, which is my hobby niche. They had some large iridescent sharks which impressed me a lot to see in person. They also had a great selection of angelfish in multiple, sometimes enormous, tanks. I noted golden Severums, plecos, many cichlids, oscars, some tetras, goldfish, catfish, and many other kinds.Their reptile room was pretty cool, especially with the mood provided by the three enormous free-roaming tortoises. Yet they're kept in the reptile room by a low wall for their own well-being so they don't get too cold- they have the reptile room at a higher temperature for all the creatures, which I thought an efficient and novel way of doing things. The enclosures all seemed appropriately sized for their inhabitants, including tortoises, turtles, and snakes, which are commonly kept in areas much too small- but these were rightly sized in both area and height. I will say that around a third seemed a bit austere, could do with some decoration. Also, they had a great selection of uncommon reptiles. Again, everything was devoid of feces, even the floor where the tortoises roamed, and the animals that should be active were active (though most species here are normally sedentary).I didn't have time to look at all the products, but they had a ton of equipment and accoutrements for fishkeeping and land/aqua scaping among other things. I feel like you would pretty much find anything you need for whichever animals you bought here. The one thing I'll say is that the floor-planning and clutter was just a tad messy- you know, a ladder here, a broom there. Not the best look, and the aisles could be arranged better and organized. And the floor was just kind of old, but not really important other than appearance. Having stacks of dog/cat/pet food blocking the front windows kind of makes the space seem dark.Overall, if I ever am back in the area I will be spending much more time in this store! All the animals seemed well-taken care of, the store was well-supplied, and had a great selection of normal and rare animals and varieties (again, those incredible betta fish). Just needs a bit of love given to its appearance, which I feel like could scare some people away with first impressions. Also, expect a smell like animals and dog food. It's a small business pet store that doesn't have freaking industrial air purifiers to make things smell good.
