My puppy got out and we are assuming she got hit by a car (we didn't see it happen). I called around and no one was open to get her in and my vet couldn't because he was having surgery that day himself. I drove her to Cheat Lake Animal Hospital and they took her right back, gave her pain medicine to make her comfortable and x-rays and other testing. They were very thorough. Even found an ear infection that we didn't know about. They brought us into a small room and showed us her X-rays. Unfortunately her leg needed to be amputated. Then they brought her into the room with us and laid her on a blanket so we could see her before we went home. She stayed there for a couple of days and we were able to call at night to check on her. They did her surgery the next day and then she came home the day after that. They were fantastic and very thorough. Always asked permission before they did things. The only complaint I had was their communication the day of the surgery but some was a misunderstanding so I wouldn't change my star ratings over it.I would definitely go back to them in an emergency and would highly recommend them to others.

Had a friend from New Jersey in Rabbit Hunting. He had a dog that had a lump under her neck about the size of a golf ball. He called at approx 3:30 pm and they made him a appoint for 5:00 pm. They had to sedate her and drain the lump. They though a brier or something poked her and it had gotten infected. They gave him several medications and the charge was very reasonable. The next day she was bouncing around all over the place wanting to hit the field but she was going to get a few days rest. A very unhappy little girl. I myself have used this Clinic and have had good experiences. The staff is always friendly and explains things clearly.Thanks for caring for our dogs.Skyview's Beagles,Mark Carder~

Sadly, our older Dog Sam just passed away. My dad drove 3 1/2 hours away to bring him to cheat lake animal hospital. allie used to work there& recommended us to cheat lake animal hospital. We got there at 12:30am & left about 2hrs later. They were so sweet & kind that they waived the visit fee & we only had to pay 200 for his cremation which really helped my veteran low income Dad. They let us take our time with Sam to say our goodbyes. So We just wanted to thank you guys again for being so sweet!

Our experience with Cheat Lake Animal Hospital over the last few months has been beyond exceptional. After several visits to vets in our area with no answers and still rapidly declining health, we turned to CLAH for help. They were the only practice to identify our kitten’s rare genetic disorder and create a treatment plan, effectively saving his life. The general wellness staff, and the emergency staff at Cheat Lake Animal Hospital are absolutely the best! My dog has been there for emergencies and has been very well taken care of! Dr. Wolfe and the general practice staff also takes amazing care of him at his routine appointments. I couldn’t ask for better treatment for my fur baby!!!

I love your clinic. From the emergency aspect of it to the regular clinic. Ever since last year when Zoe had some emergent issues to now being healthy as an 18 year old baby kitten can be, she has been well taken care of by all the staff and Doctors! She maybe difficult to work with at times because she is sassy in her own right, but also being a very sick kitty, but I felt really comfortable with the clinics care for her. They were up to the task to love on her and take gentle loving care of her and her medical needs! Thank you! Because of y’all’s help she is healthy and very content!

Becky Harvey is just the best Vet. My 11 year-old Lab, Brody received a thorough exam. Had a new lump addressed. She is in no hurry to get out of the exam room. Answers any questions and addresses any concerns. Great bed-side manner and it is obvious she loves dogs. I'm sure my old guy will get the best care as more silver shows it's ugly color. I would highly recommend this hospital and Becky Harvey.

We've been to the ER several times with both of our dogs within the past year and every time we have been nothing but pleased with the care our dogs have received. All staff from the front desk to the doctors have been compassionate and friendly. Our dogs have gotten excellent care, reports were sent to our regular vet in a timely fashion for follow-up care and we were never left waiting for long periods of time. The rates are also very affordable compared to other ERs in our area. We highly recommend Cheat Lake to all of our family and friends. It's very comforting knowing we have a place to take our babies in an emergency and know they will get excellent care.

My birds leg was injured and hadn’t been using it for days and Dr. Elswick was able to eliminate the possibility of a break or dislocation with the use of physical examination and an x-ray. I’m happy to say he’s healing up well with the help of the anti inflammatory meds she sent home with us!

The staff is very friendly and compassionate. They took excellent care of our puppy and explained the problem. The care they showed with our baby and aftercare when we picked her up was more than we could have expected . Excellent place and staff worth the hour and half drive.

“Open 24 hours” “Emergency Care” “if your here come on in we’re open”I had an emergency situation this weekend with my dog and I was turned away. I was in complete panic and basically begging the women to let me come in. I was advised the doctor was in a surgery and had another surgery after that and I should go to Pittsburgh. I explained by the time I would get to Pittsburgh I could already have my dog in their care with vet technicians until the doctor could get to him. “ that’s not true, ALL of our technicians will be in surgery with the doctor”. I understand they were busy, but do not advertise that you are able to take on emergency calls 24/7 when clearly they could not. So if ALL of the technicians were in surgery with the doctor, who’s taking care all of the vitals on the sick animals that aren’t in surgery? It should have been up to me if I wanted to take the chance and wait for my dog to be seen. Not turned away!

Absolutely wonderful place for a terrible time. We had to drive 2 hours to get there, we couldn't find anyone near us for our pet emergency. While it didn't end well with our pet, this is a wonderful animal hospital. The staff was absolutely wonderful, very streamlined and efficient and so kind and loving. At the same time, they were so comforting and kind with the tough situation we were going through. The doctor was fantastic, so caring and gentle with us as we were facing our difficult choice. Great rooms, very friendly, very nice rooms. Absolutely beautiful place as well. Would love to see them build a place that is just as wonderful that is in our area because the drive was a bit tough, especially with the stress of a sick animal. Would definitely recommend.

We drive over an hour to bring our dogs for their care here at chest lake. We have never had a bad experience or an unfriendly encounter! The absolute best of the best! Our dogs also feel safe and comfortable here!

Amanda was able to look past his growls to see the gentleness inside, enabling her to easily give our dog a thorough evaluation. Always takes great care of my precious guinea pigs and visibly enjoys working with them I just wish they had an exotic vet around the clock in case of emergencies because here in Uniontown, PA we don’t have any and access to emergency care for exotic/small animals around here is SEVERELY lacking. Other than that, they’re awesome.

This is now our only emergency vet because we know we are in good hands. Other places we went are second rate. We live in PA but will make this drive anytime. I gave five stars but can't say I loved it. Ours was a very sad situation. These veterinarians are dedicated, kind, very intelligent professionals. They did everything humanly possible to save our puppy. They took our calls in the middle of the night and any other time with compassion and professionalism. I see other ratings, some not so nice. If you have a true, critical emergency, you will wait, not leave as I saw one man do when we were there. Our Ivy was critical as were others. We got in before some of the less serious cases. That's how it should be. I would wait and not complain if things were serious. Another mentions expensive. Yeah, it is but for good reasons. It's busy there. State of the art treatment exists there. The staff sometimes has one patient to tend to for extended periods of time. I guess it all sums up to how much your pet means to you. Ours was worth everything to us and we can't thank the staff enough.

This is ivy her vet is Dr. Rosmarin and her staff(I'm sorry I can't remember all their names) but wonderful ladies. They clearly love our animals and our good to the hoomans. ☺️🐾🐾❤️❤️ Ivy wasn't happy with me but she loves Dr. Rosmarin and her team.

We love Cheat Lake Animal Hospital! They saved our dog Champs life a couple of years ago when he started having seizures and they take such good care of him now. We would recommend anyone go here to take care of their precious fur babies!

They diagnosed my dog in August with diabetes. I maintained her insulin, food etc but unfortunately she passed away tonight (the vets original prognosis in August was deemed correct, actually) and I could not have been in better hands. They were swamped, but I ran in with my dog and they took her back immediately. They discuss everything with you before they do it , including costs. I was unfortunately alone at the time and the vet tech (I wish I remembered her name but she has a septum piercing) stayed with me the entire time. The receptionists let me use the phone to call a family member when mine died (they also charged it in the back) Dr. Roth was amazing. So kind, compassionate and incredible. So many “you’re doing the right thing’s” and “your dog couldn’t have asked for a better owner.” A ton of solidarity, even as I paced the office asking every employee if I’d ever be okay again. The amazing vet tech ended up holding my hand, petting my dog with me as she passed in my arms, and on the floor with me in a hug when I was sobbing so hard I couldn’t stand.I believe my dog was given the most accurate prognosis, diagnosis and care possible. She was able to go with dignity, surrounded by love from 2 staff members who didnt know her, but loved her anyways. As I can tell they do with every animal that comes through there.I got her fur in a little bottle with a sweet note, and a clay footprint with her name on it and they’re handling the cremation/ pick up etc.tonight my heart was absolutely shattered but I know it would have been absolutely so much worse anywhere else, or with any other vet tech/ vet.

This place is amazing!!! I cannot say enough about it. First thing if it wasn't for them being open and available on the weekends I wouldn't have my baby girl Ruby Doo. Out of nowhere she collapsed. Her vitals were weak and she couldn't walk, very lethargic. There was nothing open in my area so I jumped in the car and traveled an hour and went to Cheat lake. When the vet tech came to the car to help me with Ruby Doo, she was like a limp noodle. Barely breathing. My little girl was carefully looked over a few tests were done and within the hour the awesome vet (she was fabulous) had her stats up and her diagnosis. She has Addison's disease. The vet discussed treatment and Ruby Doo is home now and about 95,% back to herself. The staff is wonderful, the vet is amazing and the place is clean. Rates were good. Thank you again Because I can't say it enough. Thank you for saving my Ruby Doo!!!

This place is beyond exceptional in more than just patient care! We had a very scary, life threatening situation occur with our 12yo German Shepherd yesterday evening. From the moment I called while driving in their direction from Bridgeport, they made me feel more at ease. From creating our chart ahead of time, to collecting the information of what was happening, to understanding I was alone with not only a very large dog, but also a 2yo little boy, to even waiting outside for me when I pulled up to grab our girl out the truck and run her straight back! The team work and communication this office has is outstanding! Before I could gather my personal belongings and my son and make it inside they, had already completed an exam, had a diagnosis and two treatment options for us to choose between. We were there for 4.5 hours making very, very scary and difficult decisions. They went out of their way to comfort us, entertain my little boy, bring him snacks and give us updates every 10-15minutes. I would highly recommend this office and team for the care of your pets. Thank you CLAH for everything!

Took my Spanish Mastiff in this today due being 63 days pregnant & showing signs of something wrong. We ended up agreeing to a c-section (didn't want it) but it ended up being a good decision as a puppy was stuck. All pups survived & staff I couldn't praise them enough 🙌 they did a fabulous job before, during & after all of it was done. Would highly recommend them to anyone. Also, extremely better prices then where we live. Driving the extra time was well worth it. Thank you for a job well done 👏
