Solid place. For $80 per night you get a warm room, clean bed, stable internet (I measured 4 Mb/s), plenty of parking, 40 minute drive the Snowshoe resort and 5-10 minute drive to Marlinton city center.The only downside was some mold in the bathroom where the bath is touching the walls.

My 'go to' place for Snowshoe trips. Best price and location vs. staying at Snowshoe proper in a condo or resort, etc. Rooms are great and clean, and while older, they have their own old-fashioned charm. Perfect for crashing after a good day on the mountain. 30 mins of scenic driving to 'Top of the World' parking. Good people and good times.

Rooms basic and clean, except for hair in shower drain. Lighting inadequate, as there are dark spots in the room. One bulb out in bathroom. Specifically needs Lighting by refrigerator/coffee stand. No microwave or breakfast. Dresser drawers could be higher up. Overall room was adequate. Receptacles recessed slightly from face cover making it difficult to plug the charger in for the phone. Shower strips are inadequate in the tub for slippage.

This was an unexpected treat when we ran into this hidden gem! From the outside it just seemed like your average motor inn and while the decor is a bit antiquated it was spotless and the view from my room was a pleasant surprise!!! The pool was spectacular and the service was unbeatable! Thanks to the gentleman working that evening who gave me a dollar for the drink machine and Sally for returning an important item I accidentally left behind. Met a great couple who visits yearly and highly recommended it for those traveling on motorcycles!

We winged it and booked an overnight stay due to we were out at Lake Moomaw, and didn’t wanna pull the 10 hours back to Illinois. Immediately was greeted by awesome customer service from the young lady at the front desk. She was super helpful and gave us directions up to our room. The rooms are a bit outdated, you have your fridge but no microwave in there. At first I was upset because I didn’t want to to the lobby every time the kids wanted some microwave food. After checking the place out I changed my mind! I loved the fact that it was as if you were stepping back into time.The lobby is awesome, there is an old school chess game, cute gaming area also in the back. The bartender was super friendly and hospitable. I wish I would have actually taken photos. The pizza was AWESOME! And I say that coming from Chicago where the food is great!The kids absolutely loved the swimming pool.If you’re in the area, give them a try! Like I said, time capsule, cozy, and different. 😊Rooms: Clean and cozyFood & drinks: DELICIOUS!

Very pleased with my room! Clean. Everything works! I don't know if it's a reno or brand new but it feels brand new! Just packing it in. A very nice budget friendly hotel with a beautiful clean pool, a nice mountain view, and a friendly staff. The rooms were clean and odor free. I plan to come back to the area for motorcycle riding and I will definitely stay here.Noteworthy details: The pool is great!

Room was clean except for some dust probably because the room hadn't been rented in awhile. There was no coffee in the room. I called before I got there to ask if the pool was open because it was memorial Day weekend so it really should have been they told me no it wasn't and that if my son wanted to swim I could take him down the Creek, which I didn't appreciate because I picked this place because it had a pool. They could have at least offered a discount given the fact that was memorial Day weekend and the pool wasn't open. The beds were really hard and old . Beautiful area but couldn't get a glimpse of the stars because the parking lot is lit up like a grocery store Parking lot, not sure why. Also no cell service or microwaves. Not a bad place to stay but I wouldn't go back

Just a classic motel that is well taken care of and is clean. It has fine WiFi and gives you everything you need. It is on a beautiful section of 219 and I will return as I love to motorcycle in the area.You might want to buy something on the way as I did. Unless you are there on the weekend the restaurant will be open.Rooms: Classic motel. Very well taken care of. Very clean.

We just needed a place for the night on our way to our rental in snowshoe and this place was amazing! Espeically for the price! We were shocked to walk into so much space, a very clean room and sparkling bathroom! I took a hot bath as soon as we got checked in! The man who did check us in, I didn’t catch his name, was very sweet and friendly and got us checked in no problem! Highly recommend this place whether it’s a quick stop stay or even a long stay! Thank you guys so much!

I absolutely loved my stay here. The staff were all super friendly, the inn and rooms were all very clean and well kept, the bar on site was amazing with a local band performing. The food was very good, the drinks and food were very well priced, wifi was the best I've ever had visiting a hotel, and they had every TV channel you could want available in the rooms. I will definitely be booking with Marlinton Motor Inn again next time I'm in the area.

We love staying here. The lounge/bar area is really nice and their poutine is way better than Tuques on the mountain. Rooms are always cozy and clean. Front desk staff and bartender are darlings. And you can’t beat it for the price.

I visited the Cass area for the first time in June 2023 and selected the Marlinton Motor Inn for lodging....It is located anywhere from 20-30 miles from Cass depending on the route used.Check-in was quick and efficient.My room was on the second floor which required steps to reach as there is no elevator....The rooms are accessed from exterior entry doors as it is not an enclosed motel.Room was comfortable....A/C had more than enough capacity to keep the room cool.Rooms also have wifi which is important as the general area has little to no cell service.Rooms have cable TV and a mini fridge but do not have microwaves. A sign posted in the office states no cooking permitted in rooms.There is a Kwik Stop convenience store with gas pumps next door to the Inn.The town of Marlinton is a few miles away and has convenience stores with gas pumps along with a Dollar General, Family Dollar, a Dairy Queen, bank and The Greenbrier Inn and Restaurant.I also found 4G cell service in downtown Marlinton as well.To sum up, I found the Marlinton Motor Inn to be a pleasant place to stay, with necessities available within a couple of miles in downtown and I plan to lodge there again on future visits.Rooms: Room was clean with plenty of space.

The best I can say is the rooms were clean, when we finally got in decent ones, and the pool was great, although the jacuzzi they advertised was not uncovered or useable.We didn't expect fancy for the price, but things could have been better.The first room we were given already had guests in it, no problem just moved us to a better room in the 2 story building. The other room with our grown kids was full of ants the next morning so they also had to be moved. The fence around the pool had exposed nails from a storm knocking it over the night before and one of our party cut his foot on a nail he didn't see.The ladies at the desk and Earl were very nice with the exception of the older lady that checked us out. After asking if our stay was pleasant we told her all that happened , she seemed offended, made excuses for the ants and nails in the fence and just took the room keys, said we had our receipt and was ready to go.

My Mother and I planned a trip to Cass Railroad and needed a place to stay. I realized that our possibility of finding a chain hotel/motel was slim pickings because we knew that the area near Cass Railroad is rural. But, we decided to try our luck on this place.Once entering the office, I nearly turned away looking for another hotel (the office especially I found to be very, very run down and in poor condition). But, I realized that our pickings for a motel/hotel of any sort was very limited and decided to see what was in store here.I will say that the room itself was (surprisingly, I must admit) clean and orderly. And, realistically, the room offered anything most people would want while staying: a mini fridge, bed lamps with cell phone chargers, coffee, place to hang/store clothing, etc.The pool itself was very nice, but, the floor of the pool is uneven (for example, the sides of the pool aren't straight up and down, it curves on the ground). It would be helpful (and more safe) for them to paint the areas where it is uneven to prevent people stubbing there toes or other injuries. Mother and I used the pool for the two days we stayed and it is not heated. Very cold when you get in, but, after being in the pool for a while you do get used to it.Mother and I stayed here on a Tuesday and Wednesday in which, sadly, both the restaurant and the bar were closed. I was told by the office staff that the bar is open Thursday-Saturday and apparently the restaurant isn't open. This was not mentioned on their website. But, just 2 miles down the road in Marlinton itself, there are a variety of places to go so it turned out to be a minor issue.Would I stay here again? Possibly. I wouldn't rule it out but I would check for other options making this my last option.

Such a hidden gem. The rooms were so nice and clean. We had a blast listening to the Untrained Professionals at the bar the night we stayed. Will definitely be back again to visit. The owner is one of the nicest people and took very good care of us.

My husband and I had planned on spending one night here en route home from our vacation destination; however, we extended our stay another night because we enjoyed it so much. The room was great, very clean; bed and pillows were comfortable; fridge worked great; plenty of linens were provided (enough for both nights!); water pressure and drainage was good; parking was sufficient. The staff was pleasant and very competent in their duties. The lounge was re-opened, so we enjoyed the local company there. There is a gas station and convenience store right next to the motel, which is quite nice.
