Probably the best looking golf course around. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape throughout all 18 holes. Today was my first time here, but certainly won't be my last.

Fantastic round at this beautiful, forgiving course. Definitely more challenging on the shorter back nine where the water comes more in play and greens offer more undulations. The railroad crossings throughout the course and Pete Dye like railroad ties on bunkering and tee boxes are a really nice integration with the landscape.

I love this course. It starts out pretty straight and flat but gains character as holes progress. There are some beautiful views on the rolling hills. The course is kept in very good shape. It's a good course to walk.

It’s unfortunate as the course was nice, but the owner single handedly ruined the day. We waited 35 minutes on the par 3 7th hole to tee off, when we suggested making our group of 6 one group (playing three man scrambles) he threatened to call the state highway patrol and told me if I wanted to make my own rules to go buy a golf course. A 5+ hour round is never good, but it would have been manageable had the owner not completely ruined the experience. Will not be going to ever again. Also, greenskeepers watered the green while putting on the finishing hole...never before have I seen that.

Traveling through the area with my wife and looked like a nice course to play. Unfortunately, you charge for a rider (greedy) so we went elsewhere. The funny thing is, there would have been no difference if I was in the cart by myself or with someone. Please consider that you are not a Golf Digest Top 100 Course and that it's just not worth paying $60+ to play an average municipal course.

Fantastic course and staff. Fairways are in great shape, greens are well contoured, and the scenery is great. River boarders both sides of the front nine and nice elevated hole on 7. Starter greeted me AFTER my round to check with me to see what I thought. Would definitely recommend and will come back again to play the back nine. Thank you Sugarwood!

Ed Runs a very great Golf Course. The greens are always cut and Nice. Wish people would respect the work it takes to keep green’s nice and Fix their Damn Pitch mark’s.

Really nice course. The money they put into shows. Only thing is the older gentleman in the clubhouse is rude. Also the greens usually have lots of pitch marks. Not course managements fault but still kinda sucks. It would be nice if they gave sand for divots. Lots of brown spots in fairways. But still a very beautiful course and not to hard.

I love this course. It’s in fantastic condition, the tee boxes are in tremendous shape, the fairways are also in great shape. The hole layouts are good and challenging. I played the day after a massive thunderstorm and it you could barley tell it rained, so they must have a great drainage system. Greens are fantastic as well. Overall wonderful course.

Everyone was friendly and made us feel welcome on our first trip here. Based on reviews I had read I was expecting a pretty decent course and was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The greens were fast so be sure to adjust but the course was great. You can tell they spend a lot of time maintaining the place and the staff we met as we played were all very friendly, telling us to be sure and return for another visit. I'm sure we will be back to visit again soon.No alcohol on the course, just letting you know ahead of time.

I have been a few times. This is a beautiful course to play. Today was disappointing. The fairways were barren, no grass. It was like they were burnt up but we haven't had the heat that normally accompanies the fairways being like this. It has been dry but not hot. I'll find someplace else to play and check back in a month or so. All of the employees are great! Nice, and very helpful. If I'm going to pay $42 though I think the course should be in better shape.

Great time playing Sugarwood. 5 stars on a sliding scale…obviously this is not the Greenbrier, but we paid $41 to ride 18 Saturday at 2:37. Overall good condition with very good greens. Quite a lot of nice scenery, particularly on the back 9. I look forward to playing here again.

Fantastic course and teaching facility! Great staff and very friendly professionals. The course is well maintained all year.Great prices on equipment in the pro shop as well. The owner claims they will beat any big box retail store prices. Bought some Ping irons while I was there.

I personally loved playing this course. The fairways are cut tight and are really wide which is good for a novice golfer like me. The greens were really fast and made for some challenging putting as well. The course was very well maintained and even after the 3 weeks of rain we had after a couple of days it was perfectly dry and playable. Best maintained course I have played so far.

Great golf course with a fair test for your game. The greens are the best you'll find in the area and are kept in great shape plus you can walk the course if you want to. I've been a member there for over ten years and the course has constantly been improved every year and is now the premier course in the area.

Good track with some great mountain holes and great views. Nice folks, friendly staffs , lessons equipment and clothing @ fair prices. Best of the courses in the area.

My friend and I have not played this course for 35 years!! The changes in the groundskeeping and layout are amazing!!! It has to be one of the nicest courses in the tri-state area. For $36 it is an absolute steal- that includes cart fees. The lady at the little restaurant was very pleasant. The bathrooms need to be updated- that was our first and last impression. But overall a great experience.

Very nice course and well maintained. Greens roll nicely -maybe could be a touch quicker. No frills pro shop with exceptional people working inside. Super value and I plan to play here in the near future. No driving range is the only negative I can think of at Sugarwood.

The course is in great shape for the middle of March. Picked up a new Scotty squareback 1.5 from the pro shop and got 3 birdies on my first round with it. Good staff, good course, no beers waawaaannn.. Highly recommend this track.

The course is nice and well kept. However they do not offer a military discount like the competitor golf courses in the local area. They could drive more business by offering a military discount.

The best public course in the region. They are continually up-grading and improving it. Unlike some local courses, they put money back into the course to make it better.

The best public golf course in the Huntington area. Owner has reinvested into the golf course. Very pleased!
