Had a good little meal there. Had the special and it was a great value, chicken fried steak, taters and gravy with green beans and a drink for $9. Also got for $7 2 slaw dogs and chips and drink. Coffee was also very good, locally roasted. They have a handful of souvenirs as well. Prices were reasonable.

My husband and I loved this place. We were just passing through on our annual wedding anniversary trip from Kentucky but decided to stop at the first place we drove by that had food, and I’m so glad we did.I had the black bean burger which was fantastic with a side of the red skin potato salad. It was seasoned perfectly and so flavorful.My husband had the tomato basil soup with the pepperoni pizza grilled cheese and he loved it. They have plenty of snacks inside to choose from as well as some grocery items and souvenirs.Our dog was able to dine with us on the outdoor patio which we appreciated. Friendly staff too. They serve breakfast all day too. It doesn’t get much better.

A great breakfast spot before you head out on an advdnture or even after for a brunch. They have a nice selection of items in the general store...and postcards.Well worth the stop. Very friendly staff, quick service.Parking: Place does get crowded, and parking can be scarce during rush hours.

The Big Ed Burger Special was awesome! The fries were the best I've had in a while. They were lightly seasoned, crispy & hot. The burger was a bit thin, but other than that, I was very pleased with the food & service. Will definitely be going back. Great food & awesome service!!!!

Great place for a quick bite or to pick up a few things you may have forgotten. Super friendly, fast service, and easy access off rt 19. If you are passing by, stop, take a break, and enjoy the atmosphere and good food.

This is such an adorable place. We got take out (which if you do order by phone because it's cheaper) and thought the breakfast food was amazing! Simple, yet clean and tasty. Highly recommend. Staff is really sweet too.

Swiftwater General is my go-to place for a quick, affordable yet super quality meal. BLT and Big Ed burgers are my fav for lunch/din but I also love their burritos for breakfast. The team there is really friendly and chill (shoutout to Glysin — she’s super cool and expert at making folks feel welcome!)

A hidden gem in an area that is basically one big hidden gem. Part restaurant, part convenience store, part souvenir shop (with quality local goods, not cheap garbage), and excellent coffee. Restaurant prices are low and the food is fast, hot and excellent.

Stopped here because it was the closest to us at the time of traveling through the area. So glad that we did! The food is simply delicious & they are a really friendly establishment. There isn't a ton of seating inside but we snagged a seat. Seems to be pretty popular with the locals from what I can tell. We will be back through this area many times in the next several months and I will make a point to stop by this spot as many times as I can!

We have traveled through New River Gorge so many times and never made the stop, but this trip was different. (More to come) But after quick research we came across Swiftwater General Store. The reviews were great, but truly they don't begin to show how amazing it is. It truly is like a modern day general store. Simple but amazing. When we walked in the general manager greeted us with the biggest smile. He suggested the brisket sandwich that was smoked for 18 hours. It was DELISH!!! We got a couple hot dogs, fries, pasta salad, and these incredible cookies from this wonderful place. We have made so many stops, but this one had my heart. It's what restaurants should be. Food done well and the staff that are just good people. He didn't mind our crazy and the kids steam rolling on it. He made us feel like we were at home and it was one of the best meals we have had out in ages. Those cookies just made the last leg of the trip the best!If you visit New River Gorge area don't miss it!!!

Please, stop what you're doing and go here! But leave plenty of time to savor the yummy food, the kind people, and a good cup of local coffee (I recommend the dark roast). I had a BLT that was almost too pretty to eat. My husband has the meatball sub - very good. We split a pecan Danish. Great little shop with fun stuff, too. We stopped here by chance to wait out a rain storm (on our motorcycle), but next time we'll make Swiftwater General Store a destination ride!

Have stopped in here a dozen times after a hard day of rock climbing. Most friendly people every time! Love the selection of food and convenience items. A local gem!

Absolutely an amazing place to stop when in town. My son and I were just there for Bridge Day, and stopped in to grab pepperoni rolls, which were delicious. My son had school work to do, and they had wi-fi, so we stopped in so he could work. They were extremely accommodating to him allowing him to stay and get his school work done. We purchased several different food items over the course of our stay, and all were delicious. Please take time to stop in and see what true hospitality is like!! We can’t wait to stop by when we return to The New!!

My partner and I stopped here for breakfast during a road trip and it was absolutely delicious! The staff was helpful, friendly, and attentive. A few locals that pulled up while we were there were also very friendly. And some cute pooches across residing across the street was an added bonus. We will definitely be coming back if we drive thru the area again!

I just found this fantastic diamond in the rough. Its such a walk into the past. Its a call back to simpler, more relaxed times. The store has a lot of sundries. You can get virtually anything you need or want, even to getting some great food. I tried thr pepperoni rolls made fresh on site. They are delicious!! They are PACKED with pepperoni. They have good WV Hotdogs and lots of other items. They have a good selection of breakfast foods too. Their burritos looked great. I'll be back to try one soon. Very nice folks run the place. I wish them all the luck to be successful and many great years of business. Please give them a try, you will not regret that you did. Probably will be your favorite place to slow down and enjoy a meal!

We spent a long weekend in an Airbnb above the store and thoroughly enjoyed the easy of access to groceries and great breakfast everyday. The staff are very nice and helpful. Definitely worth a stop!

Cool little spot off the main road, gives you the sorta homely country vibes. If that makes any sense. They helped me find cheerwine and gave me directions to a Kroger, all while being friendly and cool. Definitely a nice place to stop in and way hi.
