This was truly the best company to tour the New River. The small mom and pop feel made for such a great experience. The head guide, Scott, was awesome. He made sure everyone was taken care of (even me after my motion sickness took over on the bus ride to the river)! Brian was our raft guide and he was amazing- knowledgeable, funny, easy going, and made us feel safe and have a FANTASTIC time. We stopped for lunch- sandwiches, homemade pasta salad, taco salad, and desert. The food was amazing! The guides made sure everyone was having fun and felt safe. We got to surf a wave, jump off a cliff, and even ride through a rapid in the water. The guides were also there to help with any questions about the area. I would highly recommend this company and will definitely be using when we return!

Reed was our guide, he really reminded me that there's so much to learn and experience always. 💜 They made my birthday one I'll never forget... Can't wait to get back out there!

Definitely the best experience we had in the area! Our family took the kid friendly new river full day trip with guide Scott, he was absolutely professional, passionate and kind. Super familiar with this area, he grew up locally and had phenomenal padding skills, and put our safety first while ensure our enjoyment as well. Shared tons of history and interesting stories with us. Will come back and request Scott again in the future! 5 five.

This was something my husband and I have always wanted to do and for my birthday this year I chose to just go ahead and book us an adventure with this company to white water raft. It was everything we imagined and then some. From the guides, to the customer service at the office was outstanding. They have wet suits and jackets to rent which was great because we wanted to enjoy it and not have to freeze while on the river for 4.5 hours. Our guide Andy was fun, personable and all around very well educated about the rapids we were going thru and what to expect. It was the best time I have ever had on a river before. Highly recommend it. Water was cold but doable and just all around a great fun time!

Bryan, Bean, and everyone involved were phenomenal! The service is family-owned and is family-friendly. Definitely go with the full day adventure. The guides were very attentive and encouraging for novice rafters and children. The lunch provided was delicious, especially the pasta salad. We will definitely return in the future.

We loved our rafting trip with "Bean!" He was awesome and the stories on the bus were great. Being the 4th of July week they had full rafts, so we had the opportunity to try duckies, which we enjoyed even more, although Surprise Rapid was quite scary. Lunch was delicious, especially the pasta salad, and the hot showers at the end were appreciated. This trip was a great family experience and we can't wait to come back when the kids are a little older to do the Lower New River. Don't forget the sunscreen on the tops of your legs!

Had an epic weekend with these guys doing the upper and lower Gauley. Our guide BK was amazing, everyone there is so nice! We camped there and hung out with the guides a bit in the evening. Such a cool place with a lot to explore around the area and some great places to eat. We'll be back next year!

I took the full day lower new river tour yesterday and had the BEST adventure I could have asked for. This was a 2023 bucket list item for me and it was better than I imagined. Reed, Chad, and Scott made the entire experience so much better with their knowledge and personalities. I’ve already told all of my friends about my experience and they can’t wait to try it. I will be back!

Buddah is the man! Had such an awesome experience on the river! The rapids were exhilarating. The provided lunch was fantastic. All the staff members were kind and a pleasure to talk to! The campsites are very nice and the restroom facilities are better than you could ask for! Would recommend 10 out of 10 times.

Best experience on the New River! Been rafting with several companies and this was my favorite, hands down. Thanks Chad. Love the experienced guides at this company and their flexibility with adding extra "maneuvers" while on the water. Going off-script is what really enhances the river experience. I highly recommend this company.....and Chad as a guide. :)

This place was awesome! It was smaller and so much more intimate than the big chains and that’s what I loved most about it! Our guide was the best and we enjoyed every minute of it. I highly recommend!

what a great weekend! Our guides Scott, Sketchy Steve, and Brandon were excellent. Very knowledgeable and funny! The food at lunch was perfect for the trip (loved the pasta salad and seven layer dip!) and there was plenty for everyone. All the staff were super helpful and friendshipWe were a cozy group of 20 but they did well accommodating us and others on the trip. Rain is not a problem when you're already getting wet on the river! Loved it loved it loved it! Highly recommend!

First time experiencing whitewater rafting and I absolutely chose the best company. I picked New & Gauley River Adventures based on previous reviews I had read but also because they beat all the other companies on price. From the time we arrived, everyone we encountered was super friendly. They really help you understand all the risks but deliver the information in a fun way (great job Scott). I got ready for the experience knowing that safety is their top priority. I have to give a shout out to Amos, the best guide I have ever encountered! He made the experience so memorable and did a fantastic job explaining everything I needed to know in order to have a great time. We did the lower New River full day trip. It's still doable for beginners but we wanted a little thrill and adventure as well. We got it! The class III-IV rapids were so much fun and I'm a huge fan now of West Virginia surfing! Thankfully no one in our raft ever fell out but we got to sweep up others that did. If you are considering which company to choose in this part of West Virginia for your adventure, do not hesitate to just pick New & Gauley River Adventures. You will not be disappointed!! The staff a New & Gauley River Adventures was fantastic. Bean and Julianna were our guides and they did a wonderful job. It was fun, safe, and informative. This is a great way to support a local business, get to know the people, and get recommendations for other local businesses. I'd also recommend white water rafting to anyone who is looking for another way to experience New River Gorge National Park.

A Great place for a trip down the New River and Gauley in the Fall. They have small cabins for rent and a Campground. Located one road past the road to The New River National Park Canyon Rim Center and the road to Fayette Station. Great personable staff almost all made up of locals.

I have never went white water rafting but this was a great first experience! We did class 3-5. If I ever decide to do it again I will definitely go with this company! Our guide Brantley was fantastic! My family & I had such a blast! If you’re looking for a little thrill, this place is a good choice! & they had some damn good pasta salad with lunch 🤣

Rafting 5/5! Had a great time rafting the Lower New River with Brian and our group of 7. Brian was an awesome guide and really made our trip memorable. Had plenty of rapids and even a few swimmers rapids he encouraged us to jump in the river for. Mid-trip lunch included make your own sandwiches. Everything went smoothly. Would definitely recommend for a family owned rafting outfitter and we’ll be back for the Lower Gauley!Camping 3/5. Our group stayed on the property for 4 nights. Was first come first serve, “set your tent on any green grass you see” (no designated camp sites/electric/water). Very few flat spots to pitch a tent on. We got most of the wedge along the upper driveway (pic). They seemed surprised when we asked for a water source to refill our bottles (bathroom?). Portable toilets near the camp areas, nicer bathroom with free showers in one of the buildings. Most groups only stayed the night before their rafting trip but it was convenient for us to stay longer. Not bad, just adjust your expectations for camping. Was awesome to roll out of bed for our raft trip though.

This company was amazing from the first moment I contacted them! I was planning a family trip & wanted to take my seven year old niece along - this was the only company who would accommodate (all eight of) us. They made it easy to communicate beforehand. The day of was fantastic, Jason was our guide and he was super friendly & knowledgeable. Randy was with us and helped our 15 y.o. niece quite a bit with her duckie. We all had an awesome day & hope to return to raft the Gauley next fall. Thanks again for a great time 🙏

Great rafting. Our guide was fun and knowledgeable. Threw water on the kids when they got hot, kids got to get out and swim and jump off rocks into water. The rapids were fun but super safe for our family with 9 year olds. Bighly recommend!!

Great opening weekend trip on the Lower Gauley. This group definitely has the workings down. The only reason didn't give five stars is cuz our craft flipped. But more than enough folks were around to lend a hand and no great harm done. We'll be back for more ... for sure!

This was our first experience white water rafting and it was amazing. We took the kids on the upper New River, our guides John Henry and Randy were amazing. They were knowledgeable of the area, handled the rafts beautifully and made it a family fun adventure. The provided lunch was super tasty too. We will do this again!!

Wonderful trip! I did the lower and upper. Bean was our guide on the lower - great guide, we hit every rapid perfectly and had a blast. Mom and Pop guide companies are the way to go. Complete professionalism, great gear and great guides. We watched ACE boats (other company) all over the river in complete dissaray. I was so glad we went with NGRA! On the upper we had Capt. Kirk! Also a great guide. had a blast. flipped 3 times and had a HUGE adventure. If I do it again, definielty going in August instead of the last release of the season - definielty cold and needed a lot of gear to stay warm which made it harder to swim. The lead guide Kevin was STOKED beyond measure for what a great last run of the season was and was extremely proud of his companies safety record for the season. His passion and excitement was contagious. Made the experience all that much better. Definitely go with NGRA - they are head and shoulder above the rest. Ask Kevin about his EPIC pillow rock "kiss" Baller status for sure.

Picked this outfitter sight unseen for a rafting trip with my son. Took a full day trip down the New River. I have only good things to say about them! Staff were smart and attentive. First on phone calls and then when we there. Our guide (Reed) was absolutely fantastic and at all times I felt like he knew exactly what to do on that river. This sort of expertise makes for a fun experience. All the guides with us were similar. Rafting has some inherent danger and I want solid guides who know the river. The equipment was all in good condition from my observation. As far as price, I thought it was an excellent value. The trip was simply a great time and everything went off without a hitch. NGRA is a solid choice for a rafting company I think When I return ( and we will), I will not look anywhere else. Also, we stayed on site the one night in their cabins. For the price on that, I wouldn't mind slightly more amenities (my only small criticism) but you can't beat the convenience. Truly this place is great and they have it where it counts - which is the business of whitewater. The picture I'm attaching is our group actually rafting that day. Awesome time!

Best rafting company and with the most amazing employees!My family did the lower New River rafting trip today and it was amazing. We used them a couple years ago for the upper New River and this trip was a nice progression. We had Chad as a guide on the river today and he was amazing. Chad is chill and was a great fit for our boat. Chad was extremely knowledgeable and ensured everybody in the boat had a great trip.We will continue to use the New & Gauley River Adventures and will continue to highly recommend to all our friends and family. Great family feel and locally owned.You will definitely feel like part of the family!Chad see you next year for the lower New River!Thank you for a great family adventure!!
