Beautiful venue to explore and visit! And a beautiful venue that I’ve been lucky enough to work at for weddings! I’ve been a wedding and portrait photographer for the last decade… I’ve always had a great experience with the staff and team here! Very great! Brittany Bailey Photography loves and ♥️ I also love it too! My husband and I like to visit in the summer and eat! Always a good time 😄Food & drinks: Fantastic food!

Hello, I took some time to think this through and feel it’s best I file a complaint. My group leader/tour guide “Link” was incredibly rude, condescending and unprofessional. I was bullied out of taking my GoPro and then bullied not to take any pics while on the raft. Then said the videographer takes amazing videos. It wasn’t amazing. You couldn’t even see me. The tour guide was so negative and ruined this whole event for me. He definitely needs disciplinary action, a course on how to talk and treat ppl. He doesn’t explain the instructions well and says it way to fast then gets mad when we, the group, doesn’t get it right. Then when I got in to go swimming because he said we could he was so upset he had to get me out of the water when he pulled me out aggressively I feel like he was trying to break my strap holding my phone. He also made several cruel “jokes” about drug users. More times than I can count. Drug abuse isn’t ever funny. This company should be embarrassed of this employee. From my experience he’s worked for this company 27yrs to long. He clearly hates his job. I want a refund.

Had a great time with my party of 6 over a 4 day trip. Went skiing and this was a great place to come back to. House was stocked well and the hot tub was fantastic.Downsides however were difficult to look past. The place was very dirty with obvious mold. We took out dishwasher filter out and it was so moldy we had to call and have it replaced. They took care of it quickly, but were definitely a little worried about getting sick. The beds were comfy and the cabin was well featured and decorated. Service was great and the gift shop was the best part!

The cabin I stayed in was super cute and cozy. The campground is great and close to the New River Activities. The dics gulf 9 hole course was nice.Rooms: The kaymoor cabin we stayed in was just like a hotel room. It was really nice.

Sooooo excellent !!! We stayed (lodged), ate (dined, and did activities (white water rafting and taste of bridge day festival). EVERYTHING was amazing! Cabin was warm and comfortable. We had a dog-friendly unit. It was extremely clean. The rafting guides were excellent!!! AND . . . when I realized I had left my Apple AirPod headphones 🎧 in our cabin, they mailed them back to me for free! Will definitely stay every time we’re in the area !! Oh !!! . . . and the Shuttle Driver was amazing too !!Nearby activities: The white water rafting trip was great. The guides were true experts !!

first off, starting with walking in it looked pretty nice, until looking a little deeper. noticed that half of the dishes and pans they have for cooking wasn’t cleaned properly. a lot of them still had residue that could’ve been easily cleaned off. second thing is we payed over $300 to enjoy our stay and have a great time. we didn’t spend $300+ for the co-owner Brian Campbell to show up and tell all of us to go inside and get out of the hot tub because we were being a little loud 20 minutes after quiet time. mind you we purchased this place and then he goes to tell us we can’t party there and to clean it all up. so the next morning we pick up our stuff and cleaned the place back to what it was when we showed up (expect the towels and dishes). well a few hours go by and we are notified that we are being charged extra for “trashing the place”. we got photo evidence of what we apparently “trashed” and it was basic cleaning procedures. overall i would not book with them if you are looking to have a good time with friends and family. definitely not the cleanest for the pricing and most definitely won’t be returning again.

First time experience with whitewater rafting. I must say, this place was absolutely INCREDIBLE! The resort is so well ran I can't say enough how impressed I was. Our river guide, Brian, was great! He made my 15 year old son comfortable and kept us all safe. All the guides were great, but Brian and Ray went above and beyond. I will be back at least once next year. 10/10 would recommend.

Customer service was awful. Our guide was not loud at all, but expected everyone to hear his rules at the other side of the boat. When we did not hear his instructions he practically insulted my group. He took all of the enjoyment out of what was an extra cost to an already expensive trip. Also, if you are willing to spend the day white water rafting as a career, there is no reason you can not get wet or let us or other boats have fun splashing each other. I’ve gone to other white water rafting centers like the one in Concord, NC, spent much less, and had a way better experience.

My boyfriend and I went ziplining on a day trip and we had so much fun. I have the worst acrophobia, which means that I am DEATHLY AFRAID OF HEIGHTS. No exaggeration. Fortunately, our guides, Andy M. & Tessa P. were extremely professional, and I was able to complete the entire course. When I say we had the best guides there, I really mean that. They were knowledgeable, witty, kind, patient, funny - more goofy - and really just the best!!The views are stunning, and the adrenaline felt amazing! It was a wonderful time and I can't suggest it to everyone enough. If I can do it, you can do it. So, do it already!!

This was our first visit to Adventures on the Gorge and will not be our last. We stayed for one night and scheduled a white water rafting trip. The location was so beautiful.Justin (Motorboat) was an excellent guide down the river. We appreciated his direct commands. He directed us safely through the river without anyone unnecessarily going overboard despite us all being beginners. My family had a blast!

This place was amazing! Rocky took us kayaking out on new river down by Hawks nest Lake and we had a blast! We spent 3 hours paddling around and venturing up stream into the small rapids to test our skills. Rocky was a lot of fun and great to talk with while we enjoyed our time on the water. He did a great job keeping an eye in us but letting us do whatever we were comfortable with. This was my first time kayaking and we didn't camp at this location but we'll be back!

Oh my goodness - we had a blast here over the weekend. We booked a 3bdrm cabin and a run of the Upper Gauley. That river is not for the faint of heart but if you're looking for a big adventure, you can't beat it. Our raft guide, Marcus, is an absolute beast on the river and is so much fun! All the guides were incredible and the other boats seemed to have a great time too. The river company has really thought of everything for this trip with a hot lunch, wetsuits to rent, travel to and from the put in and take out, drinks on the bus following the run, and a happy hour to watch the video of the run - expertly filmed by our kayaking paparazzi who ran it with us. Basically, I have no notes :)Can't wait to book the next trip!

We did the Lower Gauley rafting trip and it was so much fun. Very sore the next day, but very worth it. Our guide, Gonzo, was a blast and we felt safe and taken care of during our trip thanks to her expertise. Highly recommend. Make sure to call and get a wetsuit rental ahead of time, bring shoes that you're okay being wet for a few days after, and a snug wool hat. Also, there are some showers for afterward, so I recommend a towel and some toiletries to be extra refreshed.

This was by far the most fun rafting/ camping trip I’ve ever experienced! Our guide Anthony did a great job as well as the other workers involved. Our friend Frankie was the one who left the hateful comment 2 days ago and it couldn’t have been anymore more false. We were safe the entire trip and no one else had any complaints except her.

We went white water rafting on a half day trip and it was fun! I was scared for our first time but the guide reassured me we’d be fine. Doug was an amazing guide and he had an endless supply of history knowledge and dad jokes the whole time, and he remembered all our names whenever he talked to us! We had a great time.

We did not stay at the lodge (although it looked incredible) we just did the white water rafting!! We got there early and they had corn hole to play to pass time and also talk to the other people who were going on this adventure! They were quick and smooth with getting our supplies and helping us make sure our helmets and life jackets were secure properly! The bus ride down was about 30 minutes and the guide on the bus, Gonzo, was just absolutely incredible!! So hilarious and light hearted about the whole thing!! We got down and had out pictures taken and headed out on the river in 4 different groups. I was incredibly nervous and my guide, Marcus, was so kind and reassuring about the rapids! He let us know exactly what to do and when to do it!! This was so incredible and all the guides were so amazing! The lunch stop was delicious and we got to swim a little. Ending the raft trip with jumping off a rock and then we headed back, got changed and watched the video that Tony put together!! It was such an amazing experience and my group plans to be back very soon!! Maybe even for the Upper Gauley!! 12/10 I would recommend to everyone!!!

If you’re looking for a company to choose for white water rafting, this is the one!Michelle was a delight to work with for booking over the phone, and Sully was our raft guide who made us feel safe and provided fascinating historical facts about the area we were rafting through!Highly recommend to anyone considering having fun on the river!

I've stayed with adventures on the gorge for over 12 years now. I come the first weekend in September for rafting every year. They have a fantastic sprawling facility with much to do on site and also offer some all inclusive packages regarding rafting weekends as well as zip-lining and a bunch of other fun activities. Each year I visit they have something new or have upgraded part of their facilities so it seems as though they reinvest the money they make each year to make the facilities better and better. If you've never been. I highly recommend visiting especially early fall.

Did the overnight trip on the lower New River where you camp on the river, and it was a much better experience than advertised. Our guides were fantastic and made sure that we were well fed and prepared for everything the river could throw at us. The camp site was already set up when we got there, with games, snacks and drinks set out, and the promise of a bonfire that was fulfilled after a wonderful dinner and dessert. We started planning our next trip back before we even finished our second day on the rapids.

Went with Adventures on the Gorge for our first whitewater rafting experience and it was EXCELLENT. Matt is such an energetic, fun, wild (but responsible) guide and we were so pleased with the homemade lunch, too (we're veg, and there were so many delish options). We did the Lower New River 2-5 class day-long trip and I can't wait to go back. From start to finish, just perfect. Matt was also amazingly helpful at connecting with me and arranging it so I could go kayaking the next day. Would recommend this company to anyone!

We booked a climbing trip through AOTG on a local friend's recommendation. I was skeptical - I prefer working with smaller companies. But our guides, Jake and Race, were fun to hang out with and excellent at their job. They were laid back and encouraging while keeping everything safe, and their love of climbing was infectious. We started on two fun but easy climbs, then progressed onto routes that were challenging but still doable. As a group we're somewhere between solid beginners and low-level intermediates, and the routes they chose were just right. Because we had two guides it never felt like we were waiting for them to set up the ropes. In a full day of climbing we hit nine pitches at two separate areas, which left us worn out but very happy.I don't have much to compare it to - we're mostly gym climbers - but climbing at the New is so, so fun. Hiring guides isn't cheap, but Race and Jake earned every penny. If you're making the trip, ask for them and be sure to leave a nice tip.

Great spot for a family vacation! Our family is spread out from NY to WV to TN. Staff was great, guides were lots of fun and the location was central to all of us. A beautiful area with the new national park and amenities at the gorge. We will be back! Enough activities and facilities for grandkid toddlers and seniors active enough to do the canopy tour and the ropes courses. The Iron Curtain cabin/house was perfect for a extended family gathering. Making the reservation was as easy as a phone call to excellent and friendly admin staff and a credit card. So happy this resort came up in a search of the area!
