I was recommended this zoo by my girlfriend who had been there before. I had no idea the place existed, but I was so glad I took her recommendation. The facility was amazing and the variety of native and exotic species surprised me. I even got to be cuddly (as much as you can be) with a baby camel. Very cool. This area of the state is idyllic and this zoo is a perfect weekend destination.

Great place to spend time with the family! They have gotten a lot of new animals since we last went. The kiddos love it! They are asking to go back already. We love how hands on this wildlife zoo is. It's bringing nature and education to people which is awesome! They have zebras, kangaroos, lions, tigers, bears, bison, warthogs and more!

We all had a wonderful time. All the kids loved being able to feed all the animals. Buy the pack deal on food. You get alot and the kids love every minute. There is a great covered area right out side with tons of tables. Perfect for the lunch we packed for the kids. Staff was wonderful! Would recommend and will definitely be going back!

Great low-key family friendly place for fun. Such a diverse assortment of wildlife. For an animal sanctuary/zoo the facility is very clean. Easy access and very accessible for all ages and physical types. I recommend visiting.

Took my family here today, I understand it was the first day of the season for them. We immensely enjoyed ourselves. The animal encounters were incredible, Zeus the male giraffe, was oh so friendly, and my wife really loved the parakeet aviary. Reasonably priced and the staff was very friendly as well! Thanks Hovatter’s for a delightful family outing.

A fun time for littles and our family. This is unlike anything we've ever done and I'm glad we bought the extra feeding package. The zoo was clean and well-managed. The playground by the bathrooms was a nice break before the ride home.

There is definitely some concern in regard to a few of the habitats being overcrowded. It does appear that the animals receive care. However, one of the ostriches was missing a good amount of feathers, as well as one of its wings appears to be in poor condition. Some of the habitats appeared to be a little small for some of the animals, considering their range outside of captivity. The staff seemed very nice and friendly to visitors, so I don't have any complaints regarding them.

Small for regular zoo but big for petting zoo. We love to go there because you can actually pet some animals. My kid love it so much. There are lots of animals to see. You can probably dprnd 1.5 to 2 hrs there.FYI. There is no real food to eat around the zoo. So pack lunch or snack

My Daughter had a blast. Get carrots if you have little ones so they can feed the giraffes. This place has changed a lot since the last time we visited. They have done a lot of upgrades. The enclosures are really nice and the animals look like they are very well taken care of.

Please don't go and support this "zoo." We will not go back. This is family owned, your basically walking around in someone's back yard. They are definitely following bare minimum safety and animal space/environment regulations. They have more domestic animals like turtls, birds, and goats. Then wild animals like tigers, bears, and monkeys. You can feed most of the animals, the giraffes are now trained to go to one part of their fence to get carrots from people, this isn't normal or right. The giraffes also do not have trees in their area they walk on gravel. They have signs up stating monkeys may throw poop on you, like seriously? I saw one worker out and about. There's just so much wrong with this place. I can't believe they are allowed open.

It has gotten huge compared to around 10 years ago, it looks like a few acres of animals now. Feeders are in designated areas filled with cheerios or you can purchase specific treats for certain animals. I enjoyed being there but its heartbreaking to see a lot of animals alone or with others that are very aggressive when treats are given ☹

Went to this little zoo for a birthday party. Each child got a bag of different foods to give the animals! Got to feed a giraffe, send food through a tube to a bear, and feed parakeets seeds from sticks! My daughter loved petting and feeding the animals! Even got to see some playful baby animals! Animals appear well cared for and had water and shade. There's a small gift shop for souvenirs and snacks with decent prices! There are a couple little rides available too, a kid coaster and a ferris wheel! The reason I am only giving 4 stars is for the playground. Some equipment was broken, and there was poo in the sand, so didnt let the kids play there. Other than that the zoo was great!

We loved it! Spaced out so it's not too crowded, animals looked well taken care of. Our kiddos loved feeding the animals and the little rollercoaster ride was awesome!! There was one rude employee but I feel the others made up for her behavior. So 5 stars for Hovatter's!

We had a lot of fun going around looking at all the animals. The best parts were the things that you could feed directly like the goats, llamas and giraffes. My favorite was the parakeet enclosure. I was swarmed by at least 20 of them. Made me feel like Snow White. There are lots of different monkeys and several had babies. One mama was cuddling and nursing her baby when we came around. We got the "feed everything" package and honestly, it isn't worth it. It was approx. $13 for it and it was just tiny handfuls of everything and 4-5 carrot sticks. Grab some carrot sticks from them (because it's all the giraffes can eat and they will snub you if you don't have food. Lol.) and bring quarters. There are little gumball machines with food in them around the park. Definitely a better deal then the package, but I'd never been there before and didn't know. The enclosures are pretty small so it makes you feel badly for the animals (especially the bigger ones like bears, lions, etc.), but on the plus side they all look very fat and spoiled. All in all, it's worth the trip (I'm about 45 mins away).
