Great hotel by all metrics. I’ve stayed with my family three times in the last few years. I have one really weird criticism. The doors are SO heavy and they close SO hard. If one of my toddlers managed to get their hand or arm caught in the door I’m convinced it would do serious damage.I’m 6’2” and 250lbs and I think they’re heavy. I’m sure it’s for soundproofing, but if they could manage to get them to close more softly they’d probably save themselves a future issue.

This hotel is a very clean hotel and the rooms were nice as well. We originally booked a king room, but when we checked in they didn't have rooms with only 1 king bed available. Good thing was however the rooms with 2 beds had 2 KING size beds not doubles or queens. So that was fine to us. The breakfast was pretty good too. Fresh gravy and biscuits, sausage, egg whites, potatoes, and your normal cereal and muffins and such. The hotel itself was fine for the price. The location however was a little sketchy. It had what appeared to be a crack motel behind it only separated by a fence and the location where we were told we could park our pickup and trailer was not lit at all. I refused to park there and instead took up multiple spots under the light in the hotel parking lot. If you're just passing through and need to catch some shut eye this is a great stop. Not somewhere I would use as a home base for a longer trip.

My husband was driving through when his semi truck broke down on 11/28/2023. It was towed to the Peterbilt shop right down the road from the hotel. While he was talking to the mechanics I called the hotel to make sure his reservation was all set. The kind woman who answered said that she would have everything ready for him when he got there. He was able to get into his room and settled in shortly after he got there. He said that she was so nice and helpful. The rooms are definitely immaculate and the staff is amazing. I would highly recommend making this a stop!

They charge 50 a night for pets, thus far the highest I've paid. The bathroom has no door but a barn type that get caught on the guide and leaves a big gap. You can also hear all the bathroom sounds and smell all the smells. They have Dove soap, I'm allergic to Dove and would break out in hives if I use it. The women in the lobby was very kind trying to find me something else to use and was able to provide me hand soap from the employee lounge. To which I was very greatful. The ice bucket is also stored in the bathroom instead of on the desk and we found this a bit gross. I wouldn't recommend this hotel but it got us out of a winter storm.

I took my original review down that detailed the issues I ran into here after speaking with the GM on 10/14. He was supposed to get with me about a solution before I checked out on Sunday, but he was not working and wouldn’t be in until Monday. I have not heard from him otherwise. My 4-day stay here was the worst travel experience I’ve ever had. Poor guest service, poor management, and inadequately staffed hotel. I ended up calling the police over a DV situation in the room across the hall from me my last night there. Mind you I had two children with me that couldn’t sleep due to that nonsense.. After three visits from the local police, the couple was finally asked to vacate around 11pm. From not having anyone to assist me with my luggage at check-in (that’s an unusual request according to the GM) to me finding a drunk man passed out in the elevator at 9pm to guests upstairs slamming doors all night and housekeeping bringing me a fresh comforter in a bag to have to put it on the bed myself. Housekeeping also never offered services to my room the entire stay. If you needed trash changed, you had to set it in the hall and catch them to get bags or go to the front desk to get amenities restocked for your room. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that they have a decent breakfast spread, when/if the staff is keeping it stocked during breakfast hours. Awful, awful, awful. Do not waste your time or money.

I always stay at the Wyndham in Hurricane. The Hotel is very clean and the employees are very welcoming and accommodating to my needs. The rooms are always clean and the hot breakfast is a great start to my day!Rooms: Very clean and comfortable. The bathroom sink is a bit too high. The walk in shower is great! Lots of clean towels.

Clean room. Supplied me with toothpaste after I asked. Very nice.They had a bar so after 10 hrs of driving it was nice to have a cold one.Breakfast organized and so many options. I will be back. Maybe the price raised my expectations, but I was a bit disappointed with this hotel. The room was nice, the bed was comfy, the woman who checked me in was very patient and helpful. I drove 400 miles before stopping and it was too late for dinner so I looked forward to breakfast. Breakfast had an empty coffee pot, cold ham, and burned egg patties of some sort (maybe it was an omelette?). I decided to make coffee in the pot in my room but wiped the water compartment with a tissue first, and it showed a kind of greasy black grunge so I passed on coffee altogether. I was going to mention my problem with an unclean coffee pot when I checked out, but there was no one at the counter; just a box saying drop your keys here. I stayed in a different hotel, in Morehead KY, a little further down the road on my return trip home. It was less expensive but a better overall experience.

I had a great stay here. I was traveling solo from NC. I was not familiar with the area. It’sa really nice hotel. It’s updated, rooms are clean and comfortable. They had nice amenities in the room as well as the hotel in general. The shower was huge. The room included a microwave and refrigerator. Staff was very nice and professional. They have a little bar too. The bartender was great! She was fun and attentive.There is a Pizza Hut, Subway and Pita Pit in front of the parking lot that you can walk to. Very convenient.The cost of this stay was more than 50% less than a hotel in downtown Raleigh the night before. That hotel had less amenities too!I definitely recommend staying at this hotel!

This hotel is an ultra clean facility. It was built in 2019, but looks brand new. The entire staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Full breakfast was awesome. We were in town on a house-hunting trip. We will be staying here when we have to be in town before moving. Thanks Wingate Hurricane staff for a remarkable visit!!!

We stayed here over Thanksgiving weekend, we were visiting family who live in Barboursville, the location of this hotel was great, it was pretty clean and we enjoyed the breakfast. We would stay again.Rooms: Queen beds seemed more like full beds. Clean rooms and bathrooms.Nearby activities: Charleston close, as is Huntington.

Everything about this place was A-OK! I had not stayed in the area before and was travelling alone. This came recommended and I was completely happy. Clean, updated, safe, convenient, quiet, great locay, breakfast was typical hotel breakfast which was just fine with me! Rate was good too. I have nothing to complain about and I will stay here again on a return trip.

It's one of the best hotels I've been to! Best place I've stayed in, in a long time! Very, very nice. Comfortable bed and pillows. Great continental breakfast. Friendly staff. Clean.Only complaint is the water is too hot. I know, who ever complains about that! But, seriously, it will scauld you if not careful.Hope to be back in the spring!

I scheduled a group stay for a large group (13 rooms total). Never doing this before, I wasn’t sure how to go about the process. They made the process super easy and was very accommodating even after I recontacted them to make some changes. When the group arrived, everything was ready for them. I appreciate how helpful and organized they were throughout the entire process (from booking to check out and after). Would definitely recommend to anyone else doing a group or single room stay. Also, everyone part of the group said how nice the hotel looked (said it looked new). Great place.

The service was impeccable, including room and front desk personnel. The breakfast was top-notch. I appreciate the veteran and rewards program parking in front of the hotel. The location is right between Charleston and Huntington and only 20 minutes away from Toyota where I was consulting. The hotel property and public areas were spotless as well as my room. This is a very nice hotel, and would highly recommend people to stay at in the future.
