We heard of The Reptile House from the Best of West Virginia survey through WV Living. My girlfriend loves all kinds of reptiles so we decided to check them out. Admission was $5 per person (I think it may be less for kids), and admission costs go to helping the rescue.They have a pretty good collection of reptiles in their care and most of them seem to have very good enclosures. The water turtles and the gator were very cool to see in the middle of the Barboursville mall. They have several snakes, a couple very cool large tortoises, at least one monitor, and a chunky toad. Even with their good sized collection, the space isn't crowded at all and they seem to have plenty of room to grow. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering good information about the animals.This was a very cool place that is very accessible, the admission fee keeps the place from being too crowded but is a completely reasonable rate, and the staff seemed to care for all the animals. If you decide to bring kids, just make sure they don't tap on the habitats and scare the animals, otherwise, it's a very educational opportunity and I wish we would have had something like this when I was growing up.

The Reptile House in Huntington Mall was a magical and humbling experience. When I learned that they are a reptile rescue center, I had to take a tour due to my experience with Herpetology. I learned the success stories of many of their different reptile rescues and even got to hold many of them, it was truly heartwarming knowing that there are people in this world that care about these amazing creatures. If you’re ever in the Huntington Mall, stop by for a visit and give them a donation, they are a non profit organization that could use our help saving reptiles in our area! I will definitely be returning in the future!

My two year old and I had so much fun! He got to pet his first skink, see his first monitor lizard, but he loved the bearded dragon! The staff was so patient and helpful. I would have liked a baby changing station in the bathroom, but We Still Had Fun!

We contacted the Reptile House for our sons 6th birthday and it was a HUGE SUCCESS! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. All the kids had a great time. We can’t wait to visit them at their “home” location. Thank you so much for coming out and helping us celebrate!

There are a handful of businesses in our area that I just absolutely LOVE! The Reptile House is one of them! I really don't have enough words to express my support of what is happening over there! What my kids (ages 8 and 12) and I have found is something we could only experience in larger cities until now. The Reptile House offers community involvement, educational opportunities, hands on fun and experiences for ALL AGES, laughter and a billion smiles for photo opportunities. The staff and volunteers are not at all pushy and are always ready to share their love of the animals according to each person's comfort level.

I first saw ads on Facebook for a reptile place at the mall and I was intrigued. So, I took my two girls and they fell in love. Soon enough, I was bringing my Girl Scout troop and booking him for Girl Scout events. Andy is super personable and easy to work with for small or large groups and is willing to accommodate those scared of reptiles. He doesn’t force the animals on you and will keep them at a respectful distance if anyone is scared of the animals. Although at the end of one of his presentations most kids wanted a closer look!His rates are fantastic and I am sure we will be working together again!

This is an amazing experience. You will see God's creatures in a new light, learn so much more about the natural world, share the joy of discovery with others, and bask in the knowledge that the money from your extremely inexpensive ticket is going directly to helping these lovable but slandered creatures live better lives.Some of It also goes to help Lazarus 2.0 the Nile Monitor Lizard.(Absolutely ask about yearly memberships, though, each time you come back you know more and can appreciate more. We're yearly members and each trip back only gets better.)But most importantly, if you think it "isn't for you," it absolutely *is.* Give Andy and the rest of the crew a chance to introduce you slowly to what the animals are really like. If you haven't yet had the opportunity to meet them face-to-snoot I promise it's absolutely nothing like you're imagining, it's so much *better.*Go. It's absolutely worth it.
