We were looking for a local dinner for lunch and this was close by. Service was quick and friendly. The food came out in a reasonable time. The restaurant was not busy at 12:30. Our food was good. My mashed potatoes and green weren’t very hot but tasted good. The country fried steak was good and hot and the accompanying gravy was tasty. The tater tots had a strong onion flavor. The hamburger my wife had was very good.Parking: Along the highway so backing out was a bit of a challenge.

Our party of 3 had. dinner here after a wonder afternoon of successful smallmouth catch and release fishing at Sandstone Falls on May 2, 2024. 2 Folks had the catfish dinner and one the shrimp basket. We sure enjoyed our meal and friendly service. All agreed we will make this stop again in the near future! You really need to check it out as well great enjoy able food for sure!!

Had been hearing of more and more people going and how good the food was, was NOT disappointed. All of it was GREAT! EVERYTHING tasted fresh and came to the table piping hot! I highly suggest the Alaskan Cod plate. The fish and batter were so good, I didn't even use the vinegar or tartar sauce! Will definitely go again, perhaps on a warm evening to enjoy the outside dining over the river!! A+

My party and I were planning on dining in the businesses outdoor area. When we arrived it took 10 minutes for us to get menus thanks to one person in the party getting them. The patrons at the table beside us were already agitated as their food was messed up and that they did not have a manager on duty to talk to them. We waited about 15 more minutes to get our order. When ordering the nice waitress told us they were out of a couple items we were ordering, so we switched our orders. We got our drinks quickly and proceeded to wait again. Another 15 minutes go by and the waitress comes and tells us they are out of some more items we had ordered. That is when we decided to leave. We did pay for our drinks, and ended up going to Dairy Queen. When leaving the cook was yelling, cussing, and belittling the teenage waitress. Definately not a good experience. We will try the Market next time.

I’m very confused by the glowing reviews because I just went here yesterday and I do not recommend at all. The food took about 45 minutes to come out and when it did just about everything was subpar—the soup bowl was dirty, the loaded fries were burnt, there were small floating black flecks in the sprite, and most importantly, the grilled chicken sandwich was RAW. Maybe it’s because we went in off season and it’s better when tourists are in town but I urge you to eat somewhere else.

I adore this little dive joint. Very good food and the location is on point. I would like to see some craft beer or something unique come from them. I was able to take my dog on the patio overlooking the New River.

My brother and I were shocked to find this place nearly empty for dinner on a Friday night during our stay in Hinton. For being the only bar/restaurant open past 7pm and the riverfront views (pic) you'd expect this place to be popping. Their food menu is a little light but the burger and wings were enough for us. The bar is a bit hidden in the back which I only happen to stumble upon because it was near the restroom, it was a bummer it wasn't outside on the deck. We'd definitely stop here on our next trip through Hinton.

My wife and myself decided we wanted something different. So we decided on this place for the first time today. She had the burger and of course I had to try the hotdogs since it's my most favorite food. She absolutely loves the burger and I couldn't stop harping about the delicious homemade hotdogs. We talked about it for two days, and decided to go back for more hotdogs. She loves them as much as I do, THERE AMAZING.Parking: Can be a bit difficult to find a spot. But with good food and a pub, that stands to reasonWheelchair accessibility: Very easy for wheelchair access

First off, the waitress was excellent. The food was very good. Price was very affordable. Ate on the deck, overlooking the river, and that was remarkable. Couldn't ask for a better view. Only downside, which I understand why, but they brought our meals out as they were ready. We did not wait for the other person to get their food, ate while it was hot off the grill. Got my meal and appetizer at the same time. That was ok, didnt have to wait long.

Stopped by for a quick bite and ended up staying for hours. I felt so welcomed by everyone in this place - from the employees, patrons, and the owner. People made me feel very special, shared their stories, and were above and beyond in how hospitable they were. It was an experience I’ll never forget! I loved the Depot Tomatoes and the beautiful river views. Thank you River City Grill & Pub!

Ordered the country fried steak dinner, cheese burger, onion rings, and fries and they were delish! Great location, we sat outside and were sitting right over the river. Great view of geese swimming by while we ate great food. Customer service was great, quick, nice people and attentive service.We also had our do with us on the patio, so they're dog friendly!

Their fish and chips (I swapped in onion rings) were SO good!!! The bartender makes a really good Moscow Mule, too. She was great as were the patrons. I was visiting and asked about local sites to see and received some great recommendations. Thank you, everyone!! #50before50

Unfortunately, we decided to have dinner here.. had a hair in my sandwich (it was replaced). After taking about 25-30 minutes to get it in the first place. Our overworked and only waitress for the restaurant told me she would discount our food. At the checkout, she gave me 10% off. Then proceeds to tell me, if paying with card there's a 4% charge. Do yourself a favor, patronize DQ, Subwa or The Market.The view by the river is the best part of the experience.

I stopped for dinner at River City while camping at Bluestone State Park as its just a few miles up the road. Since I was alone, I just ate at the bar. Staff were very friendly and I had a nice time. I had jalapeno poppers and steak quesadillas and everything was very good. They have a full bar and a reasonable selection of beers, so great place to dine in Hinton. The view of New River is really nice and if the weather cooperated, I would have eaten out on the deck.

If you're missing crab legs, they have them here! Order ahead for them. This is not a fancy restaurant. It's a cool restaurant. Our food was really good. The waitress was great. You can sit outside and watch the river go by. Very interesting stained glass shop next door. Play a game of pool in the back if you like. Worth the stop. It's a win.

we walked in, this place is so dirty. we went outside to eat and every table had crumbs on them. the service was terrible and took us an hour to get our food, when no one is here. our appetizer was the fried pickles which were terrible and all in one piece and came out with our entrees. we were charged for dipping sauces that came with our meals and salads.there was also little bugs found in the salads

Beware of this restaurant, you need to check receipt $$$ Item by item. The waitress added some extra small amounts here and there, which is only part of ingredients ; Or charge salsa or dressing which come with the dish! These should not be charged .I found out and she and another man tried to cheat me that was tax, however, a total tax was added again at the bottom. Double tax?😄, I don’t believe so !Also they charged credit fee 4% if you use credit card. BOTH are not Correct practices. Watch this restaurant, especially you are a tourist they know you won’t be back to this area again!

The first few times we ate here it was fine. Then it got worse. Long wait for a hot dog then Informed they were out of buns and it would be on a hoagie bun. Another wait and was informed they no longer make hot dogs. No refills We reordered and after another long wait...we got our food....10 mins apart. As we ate , door dash shows to pick up their order of hot dogs.They were served hot dogs. To many good restaurants to be treated this way
