Called about launching Kayaks on his property and was told just to make sure I parked out of the way and was welcome anytime. Very friendly and nice to speak with. Havn't camped there, but they have a very nice facility from what I seen. Plan on going back tomorrow and plan on checking about camping a weekend there. I grew up on that part of the Elk River and glad to know someone is using it in a good way and preserving it. Thank You for your kindness.

Beautiful RV campgrounds, well maintained and lovely river. The scenery is amazing, the gravel lots level and the water/power hookups are new and work great. The owner Mark was very helpful and we felt welcomed. Even our dogs were allowed to roam and explore. Very close to I-79 in WV. Highly recommended!

The owner and long term guests were extremely welcoming of us and all our dogs. This was a quite campground hidden out back with big open area for the dogs to enjoy. Enjoy a riverside surrounded by hills.

This is an amazing and beautiful little campground with terrific people, views and an amazing owner! Mark was accommodating, friendly and bent over backwards to ensure safety and happiness. I spent a little over two weeks right there on the river and had an amazing time with not only the transient campers, but the folks that live there year round and months at a time. Everyone was so friendly and if I make my way north, I'll definitely stop in again!

This campground was built to cater to workers, I wouldn't recommend this place if you don't want people basically leaning their chairs against the back of your trailer. Seems like everyone lives there. It was one of the many campgrounds set up to give pipelines a place to park their campers while in state. Sites are directly on top of each other and that is not my idea of relaxing trip when your neighbors can hear everything said and done. Has potential to be nice if he would move every other site. Go to Koa or Gerald freeman. Both very nice.

The Chair is in the back by the water. The RV place was super clean, had a nice set up and was super close to the water. Was a beautiful place, but some folks were kinda nosy. It's fun if you're taking a day trip, maybe dropping by to find the 5 chairs of braxton challenge, dip ya toes in the water like we did.. make a day of it!

What A beautiful GEM of a campground. Nestled beside the Elk River, this small but complete campground has it all. Great location in a small valley along side a beautiful flowing river. Didn't fish but I bet they are there! Store less then a mile from the Park if you forgot anything Mark was great. He met us at the gas station and led us right to our spot. He is a relatively new park owner and super interested in making EVERYTHING right. High in the West Virginia mountains it is fully set up for winter over camping with heat on all the pipes and with a mild climate. Not for ME but maybe for you.

This campground was a way point for us on our journey south for the winter. We were late arriving and it was full dark. The owner was kind enough to meet us at the highway exit so we could follow him to the campground. What a generous thing to do.Before we headed out the next morning, he showed us around. This place is a gem. Especially if you like fishing, and wading and swimming in a beautiful river. There are limited spots right now, but the owner has big plans for a campground with many reasons to stay, including a new bathhouse with heated floors and a Pavillion for gathering.

Mark has built one of the best hidden gems around. He's got full hookups, sites tailored to the terrain that take you down by the river, pull throughs, and covered spots.Mark is the friendliest camp host we've met, and is always available via text or call. I'm sad we only stayed one night, but will make it a longer trip next time.

We are from Minnesota and have to say this is one of the best campground we’ve been to. Mark, owner, is nice and very helpful. We had an amazing spot right down by where the creek runs into the Elk River. I would highly recommend this campground. You can’t beat the price of the site and the hospitality of the owner. Thank you for making our stay in West Virginia memorable.

What a beautiful place to camp. Right next to the river and a peaceful area to chill out and relax. Also, Mark from the RV park went above and beyond for our out of town group. He met us right after we got off the exit, helped us get provisions for the night, and set us up with a terrific camp site. We can’t thank you enough for you help and kindness. Will definitely recommend this place to camp.

Elk River Camp and Rv Park was one of the best we have tried. Mark is the owner and provides personal service to all of his guests. He definitely saved our bacon. In our 6 years of RVing this campground ranks up there with best.

Elk River Camp and RV Park is a beautiful park on the Elk River. It is a very relaxing place within minutes of grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations. It is well lit at each site. It has full and partial hookups. Full hookups include power, water, and sewer. Partial hookups have only power and water. All sites have picnic tables and fire pits with grills. A swing and hammock are available for use. There are two parks, Little Buffalo and Bear Run. They are very nice RV Parks. I highly recommend this park!!

WARNING WARNING to any high end coach owner and or anyone towing a tag along trailer, complete nightmare awaits! As other reviewers have stated the gentleman whom owns the faciality came to meet us at the highway exit, talking on phone the entire time exclaiming how beautiful the faciality is, " you wont believe this place when we get there" , never mind the hump in the road where the coach tow ball will drag, never mind the run down industrial buildings, at the entrance, never mind the single lane road we are turning on to, Owner says "road gets a little narrow here for just a bit" never mind the individual that is coming head on at you in a car and won't / cant move over, there we sit stopped eventually the car moves into the ditch, and we get passed - owner still talking on phone to us....now the paved single lane road turns to gravel.... "don't worry about this upcoming rough gravel area...we just have a little more to go"....now we are down to an 10' wide path with 8' of gravel...side radiator kicking spewing out dust, generator blowing more dust..owner keeps talking "This path goes on a just a little bit more...but when we get to the campground you wont believe it, its like paradise"... meantime I am praying that no one comes the other way, as for backing up with a short wheel base trailer is nearly impossible on 8' path. After about 1/3 mile, Finally we arrive to exactly what the owner stated, something I have never seen before! A scene out of Deliverance. Basically a dirt / sand area with a gravel path leading to it, owner said turn now into the field. I said I can't, there is a mud hole, the ground is soft I will sink...he said..."you will make it , or I will pay your tow". The man didn't even understand nor care that a 55K pound coach stuck is mud wont come out of the mud with out a huge wrecker. I move about a few hundred feet...make the turn , he stops us in a dirt, I mean dirt area not a blade of grass, just a silt covered area left behind from when the river rises,,, no sewer hook up, owner did say that rest areas in WV do have dump sites... Needless to say we pulled out, on the way out the wiring for the trailer got trapped beneath framing and the gravel ruined it....luckily no other damages to the coach. The owner was actually a very smart salesman, from meeting at the exit and talking endlessly, you literally couldn't get a word in...all in a effort to keep you distracted from what you were encountering ....once lured into the one lane road...there literally is no turning back, you have to go to the dirt field ...He figures once you get to paradise, endured the journey, you will stay. If he didn't come meet you at the highway exit, and keep making excuses and luring you in....anyone would turn back...after all its on google maps...one turn to make....DONT FALL FOR IT!

Nice folks at this campground. Not overcrowded. Rather isolated, in a nice way, among trees. Nice community pavilion. Enjoy edca birthday party with fellow campers.

The entire facility is first come first serve. But when you’re pulling that rig you need some kind of guaranteed a spot especially if you’re driving miles.
