I've been a customer of Wayne's for a couple years. There is no denying they do a fantastic job raising beef. Their steaks are delicious and typically I would buy from the meat counter. To cut down on driving there, I decided to purchase a whole beef from them, a little over $2000. What I received is something you would never see behind the glass at the store, 2" x 6" NY Strips, rib steaks that barely have a cap (there are pictures in other reviews of the ribeyes you will typically see in the meat case) and filets maybe the size of a half dollar coin. Its disappointing that they would pass something like this off to a customer who spent a substantial amount of money for decent cuts of meat knowing they would not display this in their own market. For those that may not be aware, these steaks are proportionate to the size of the steer. These probably came from a 550lb-575lb hanging weight steer. If you do decide to take the plunge into a whole beef, my suggestion is to specify the hanging weight to avoid having steaks that they wouldn't sell in their stores and that belong on a kids menu. A good conscious business and person in general would have said this is not right, not Waynes...Here, our mistake is your problem.

I just retuned from shopping at Waynes Market in Fort Ashby, WV. Since I am elderly and need my meat wrapped for freezing I want to gave my hats off to the young woman who took care of me. She was so helpful and patient with my needs. It was a happy experience and I am so grateful for the kindness of this particular employee. Overall it was a pleasant experience along with the best meat ever. Thank you Wayne’s Market.

Love this place, the employees are kind and friendly. The owners are not stuck up corporate people who only care for and look out for themselves like other businesses. Has a beautiful country style setting that brings out the environment of the town it is in.

Great selection of grass fed and locally grown meats. Much higher quality than the big super markets. Also a great selection of common groceries as well as some niche items. Well maintained and friendly staff. Must visit!

Old school grocery store, and some of the best meat you could ever get in this area. Obviously meat prices are high. Keep in mind this is a private business, so you're gonna pay a little more than say Walmart, but the quality is well worth it. The store is super clean, and I cannot stress enough how friendly and personable the staff is. They have basically any groceries you could need along with a meat counter, deli, and a hot food bar. As far as grocery stores out here in the middle of nowhere it's definitely a front runner.

Good selection of food for the size. Deli has decent amount of meats and a small selection of hot foods. Prices are are high on many items. Quality is good on the meats. The meat department has nice people and decent service. It's a place to buy food if you forget to pick it up at a larger store. Could use a better selection of items.

Great meats, outstanding customer service and fair prices. Hands down best beef, pork, chicken and seafood around​. Also, the grill and hot bar prepares food to order and it's reasonably priced and very good. Edit as of the beginning of 2018 they no longer have the grill with a wide selection of made to order food. There is a smaller limited menu with daily specials that rotate. There is still a selection of hot prepared food and it is very reasonably priced and extraordinarily good.

This store is an excellent place to get fresh meats. This store is much larger than the one in Keyser and has much more to choose from when it comes to grocery needs. However one thing it shares with the other location is a large selection of fresh meats. Everything from ground beef to various types of sausages to ribs and even to bacon, this store has higher quality meats than what you'll find at your local supermarket. The meat is fresh and well priced. The sausages are blended with just the right ingredients, and the deli has a large selection of cold cuts and cheeses as well. There is also hot food available to order if you want to take something home to eat. You can also ask for your meats to be freezer wrapped if you want to freeze them for longer storage. Regardless of whether you live in Fort Ashby or if you're from the Lavale or Cumberland area, I recommend giving this place a visit if you want high quality meats at an affordable price.

So good. Ribeye with no bone. Well worth the money for the size and taste over an open fire. The blonde hair girl who looks like an actress and the woman trying to stop the killing of whales. I thought she was so great and kind not to mention the beauty of a Goddess. I love the meat but would love to know her.

Love the fresh meat,potato salad, macaroni salad and fresh bread. Their deli selection is awesome also. Their prices are fairly descent. All the workers are really nice. I enjoy going to Waynes for certain types of food.

Wayne has locations in Keyser and Fort Ashby. I patronize both stores, as does anyone within driving distance that prefers excellent fresh meats and friendly service. I buy all my meats there and most of my produce. Great quality and friendly staff!

I come here for hot wings and steak, ordering ahead. The steaks are always great, and the hot wings are too. The staff is always nice and courteous, so i have no complaints about this establishment.Even has your standard grocery items that, for a fort ashby resident, you would otherwise have to go to Walmart or food lion depending on the direction you are travelling.

I love this store. The whole store replicates Mayberry with people from the Andy Griffith Show on their walls. It's like stepping back in time. Eveyone there treats you like family, they are all so nice and helpful. Their meats are raised and processed themselves and the quality is A mazing!!

Great meat store. Every time I come to Romney for the visit, I break the diet and get there side meat. They also have excellent cuts of steak, and chops. Worth it!
