Finally got to eat here after hearing great thing but being delayed by the fire. Absolutely delicious and worth the wait. They have really creative and tasty sandwich combos. My favorite part is they have lighter options as well as more substantial options to fit your mood. Get the pimento fries. Full bar with good beer options. Great service. A great stop both before and after your hike through the Gorge

Great lunch spot with plenty of burger and beer options. Sticky ribs appetizer is 9/10 👍. The pickles taste homemade and are better than most. Fries are well prepared, fresh and not too salty. We visited on a Thursday afternoon, no wait for a table and didn’t wait long for food. Waitress checked in regularly for drinks. Satisfied for a fair price.Parking: Fills up quickKid-friendliness: Lots of kids

What a great place! We saw the sign on our way to Florida and committed to stopping on our way back. We are so glad we did! I had the Washington and my husband had, um, something with pork, pimento cheese, other stuff on a potato roll. Both were excellent! As were the fries and chips. There was a bit of wait, not a quick stop place. Dogs are not allowed inside or on the covered patio, but there is another, uncovered, area with picnic benches you can take them. I'll tell you what, it's worth it! We will plan our next trip down to accommodate another stop. In fact, in planning a day trip down with our son just because!

Our first visit here. We had a pet with us, so we couldn’t go in with it. But we could order and enjoy it in their little outdoor picnic area so the puppy could run around. They have vegan-friendly sandwiches and hummus and things. Everything is freshly made and was very good. A tad pricey and takes awhile for order to be ready. We waited 20 minutes. But the food was well worth the wait. Homemade potato chips were fantastic.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. They can customize the items. All fresh and tastyParking: Parking along the road with handicapped parking. Also a large parking lot behind and below, but requires climbing a number of stepsKid-friendliness: Kids would love the placeWheelchair accessibility: They have three handicapped parking spots and there is a wheelchair accessible ramp

Passing by Fayetteville and found this great restaurant to eat. Recommended by locals too.Their sandwich is name after presidents and 1st of the United States I think. Some last name I recognizeWho doesn't like sandwich with toast bread and a side of fresh crunchy fries. I think they do use a lot of msg because I was so thirsty afterward. I went late and still produce excellent food before close.Good drink and food menu. After a big meal you can go hike the national parks nearby and burn some caloriesParking can be a issue during rush hours so beware.

I will be back. I'm willing to change this review. This was my first time at the new location. The bartender was very kind and attentive. Yet my appetizer of wings came out after my sandwich due to an error. They were not hot or crispy. The Korean wing sauce was fantastic. The chicken sandwich was prepared and cooked well but lacked seasoning and I received very little of the sauce. The highlight was the salad. The red wine dressing was stellar.

We asked a local for a recommendation for lunch, The secret Sandwich society came highly recommended. Evidently they had a fire a while back and this is their new establishment. A part of a small chain , their other location is in the Richmond area. The food that we received was delicious, however, one of the things that we try to do is taste as many different types of things as possible. It is difficult when the kitchen screws up your order so you don't receive your appetizer and the server has to be reminded about the dessert. Burgers were good and I highly recommend the brussel sprouts with lemon and Parmesan.

First time visiting since their reopening and Its just as good as I remember it! The new building is spacious and such a cool space. I got the Garfield with chips and obviously spicy ketchup! It was delicious, but I could eat a whole jar of their pickles. Definitely stop by if you're in the area

First time visiting the Secret Sandwich Society, and I definitely understand the popularity. The food is absolutely amazing - perfect selection of delicious sandwiches and sides. Truffle fries were so crispy and flavorful. I highly recommend the Fillmore, with fried chicken. I would go back and try every single sandwich. However, service still needs some work. We struggled to get a seat and ordering was slow. What should have been a 45 min meal became nearly 2 hours. Once they fix this piece, it'll be an easy 5 star review and I will come back to visit regularly.

My friend Johnathan has raved about this place for years and I finally got to try it. Our wait was short and our waiter was great. We had the truffle fries for an appetizer with parmesan ranch and roasted garlic mayo sauces.Absolutely perfect. I forgot to try the spicy ketchup though.I had the Roosevelt with a side of horseradish mayo for the house made chips. They included a homemade pickle that was delicious. My wife gave me hers and I was happy that mine was sweeter but hers was also more of a classic pickle. The chips were crispy and had the right amount of salt. The Roosevelt delivered. Roast beef and bacon came together for a wonderful sandwich. Highly recommend.Next time, I'm trying a Kennedy. They also had a paloma on the cocktail menu that was strong and a little less sweet than expected. If they had been serving me these in Mexico when I went last summer, I would've been napping all day.Overall, this was everything I hoped it would be. I can't wait to visit again.

On my way to Babcock State Park to do some photography but felt a little hungry….The locals were talking about Secret Sandwich Society in Fayetteville, WV and their legendary Pimento Cheese Fries! So knowing I’m going to be burning a lot of calories I had to go and see if the legends were true. When I arrived you can tell that this is no ordinary sandwich shop, the decor inside and out is very inviting and the menu has around 15 unique sandwich options as well as 5 burger options. If you have kids they do have a children’s menu upon request. I ordered The Truman that had a melody of flavors that I must say were like the odd couple family reunion! Tasty Turkey, peach jam, blue cheese, crispy onions on a potato roll that was soft and perfectly crisped on the inside of the bun. It sounds a little weird but the sandwich was great! Now let’s talk about those pimento fries….you would think there would be a let down after all the hype!!! Nope, these fries were heavenly especially with the jalapeño and crumbled bacon added….but wait there is more, the sandwich came with an in house made pickle that had a mellow flavor with a little surprise taste that I can’t quite put my finger on it but the firmness was perfect and the crunch was exactly where you want it. If you are in the area visiting New River Gorge or Babcock State park put this spot on your itinerary!

This was our first trip to the original location after reopening. The food is still great, service friendly if a little spotty. I expect that will get better as they work out the kinks. It's missing the feel of the original. The "oldness" of the original has a charm that the new, modern look just doesn't have. Still, I'm sure SSS will remain a regular stop for us.

It has been a few years since we have been here and we really love the new look! The food was great, however the in-house pickles were not as delicious as they used to be. I also was so very disappointed to see that the Homestead burger is no longer on the menu. The rest of the burgers do not compare to that one. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring the homestead burger back!!

Nice ambience, service, food and drinks. We visited on a Monday afternoon and had a Moondog (beer) alongside a Brussels Sprouts for appetizer, which followed with a Lady Bird and a Fillmore (sandwiches). Everything was good, although I'd have liked the eggplant crust to be thinner in the Fillmore. On the downside, street parking was a hassle as all the spots were occupied but we managed to find a spot a little further away. There was an additional 30 minute wait for a table, so all in all, we had to spend quite some time waiting before getting a table. But this also goes to say that the restaurant is really popular. Would recommend visiting.

First time here ever. They just recently re-opened. We went on a Sunday and the place was packed. We waited an hour for a table and probably 45 minutes to get our food. Everyone in our group was very pleased with their food. The fries were really good and our sandwiches were all good. We will be going back for sure, but maybe on a less busy day. I would not recommend taking babies or little kids as it was pretty loud in there.

Service could have been better. The server was a bit airy. Asked for water and she never came back to get us water. I had to go to the bar to get it where the bartender was not present. So some other gentleman who worked there helped me out. Ordered the Velvet and the General, burgers. It says hand-pattied but did not seem like it. The general was just a basic burger with no flavor but the taste of frozen beef, it was cooked okay. Ordered medium well but it was well done. The velvet was ordered medium well but it was well done and very dry. It says it's a French dip burger so it seemed odd it was more dry than the General. Fries were ok. The pickle was probably the most unique thing on my plate but it was a bit sweet for my taste. Most likely not return again.

Just ate there two weeks after the grand reopening and it lived up to all the hype and expectations! We were tourists spending the weekend zip lining, hiking, and white water rafting. The food and drinks here absolutely hit the spot! The loaded pimento fries were phenomenal and will feed a small family! We had the Adams and Lafayette sandwiches which were delicious! A must visit if you’re in the area!

Looooved this place. Everything is by kitchen. I dont know if we were too tired and hungry after a long hike or the food was so good; that Fillmore Sandwich with fried chicken was amazing!!! Hands down.Nice ambience. Lots of dishes in the menu. Chicken wings were delectable. Pickles were amazing. Place doesnt have much parking though. We parked the street near to another block on Monday as the place was so busy
