Great location! Close to the New River Gorge Bridge and hiking trails. The best is it is such a nice and well maintained campground. It is so incredibly quiet. All we hear are birds and the view of the sunset of the evening in gorgeous. The owners and their son Jacob are very friendly and accommodating. We had an issue the first night and they let us use their shop vac and would have helped in any other way too.We stayed in site 22 that backed up to the trees.

Was the beginning of the season so it was fairly empty, but filled as week went on. Grounds and buildings (including restrooms and laundromat) were very well maintained and many things looked new(ish). Internet and water flow were strong. Staff and camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. Tornadoes came through the area and we lost power for 2 1/2 days, but we all managed. Location was amazing in regards to local trails, the national park and other state parks, local food, and large chain grocers and retailers. Close to highway but not on top of it.Nearby activities: Tons of hiking, views, scenic routes, and cool towns to check out.Safety: Felt safe. Attentive camp hosts and staff. Local police and Sheriff's Dept are only a couple of minutes away.Walkability: There are a couple of trails within the campground, good for a stroll with the kids or pets.

It is a small family run place. It's lacking modern amenities and bathrooms/laundry are closed during the winter season until April 1st. It is very clean and well kept, and they appear to be expanding. I would definitely visit again.

Nice campground and great location near New River Gorge National Park. The main campground is a bit tight, that is why we chose the Outback area (good for smaller RVs). Site 32 was perfect for our RV (18 footer). We had more space between sites, water, and electric. The walk to the bathhouse was longer, but really no big deal. There was also a pot-a-potty if you didn’t want to take a walk. The bathhouse was very clear. Laundry machines all worked and were a reasonable price. My kids loved the playground and they met lots of other kids. Pet friendly too! The staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped us to get into our spot because it was a little challenging. We loved our stay and would definitely stay here again.

This place is perfect if you're looking to stay near Fayetteville/New River Gorge. We managed to book the last two sites for Bridge Day weekend and boy did we get lucky. The people who run this campground are so kind and thoughtful. They sent out an employee to help back in our trailer to our site. The bathrooms were extremely clean - even through a really rainy/muddy weekend. The location is perfect, the shuttle to take us to the Bridge was right across the street, and the drive to downtown Fayetteville was less than 5 minutes away. I'd absolutely come stay here again in the future.

Nice campground - well maintained. We were in the only pull-through site - #20. We pulled in far enough that we were level on the asphalt pad. Had a firepit and picnic table. Staff was helpful and courteous. We were a little disappointed that the laundry facilities were closed for the season (it was November), but found a laundromat in town. We were alerted ahead of time that the bathrooms would be closed, but didn't realize the laundry would be too. No biggie. The campground is close to New River Gorge National Park's north rim. The wi-fi reception was one of the best we have found in our 2.5 years of full-time rving. Cell service was good too (AT&T).

Me and my husband had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Serenity Cabin. It was quiet and very peaceful. I give this campground five stars ⭐ on the cleanliness of campground, the cabin we stayed in, and the restrooms were always kept clean throughout the day. The staff was very friendly and made sure you had whatever you needed. Our stay was perfect and so was our cozy cabin. We will definitely be back! ❤️

Stayed here to primitive camp for our hiking trip through the new river gorge Park. Good proximity to everything you will need. Campground was good as well. Stayed at spot 38. Which was good however if someone is at site 39 they're parking spot is pretty much in front of your space so if they are a spunky family all night, like our neighbors were when we were there, then your going to get beamed the entire night with headlights from their vehicles and small kids with their flashlights till midnight it longer. There's also no "privacy" between the sites 38-36 which is something I was hoping for but the pictures only showed the spot and you couldn't really tell how exposed you were to your neighbors. Overall good campground, amazing staff, sites were level and complete with bench, fire ring and water and electric. Porta potty was available in the back half of the campground for when walking 10 minutes to the shower house wasn't an option.

Excellent staff, they go out of their way to make sure all customers are happy and taken care of. The campground is clean all power connections that we used at two different campsites worked perfectly. The sites are well maintained and level. Very nice area close to many activities and New River Gorge. Will definitely stay here again. 👍

What a gem!!!! We stayed just one quick night since we were passing through on our way home from vacation. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The CG itself is nestled in the woods and VERY scenic. Level pads. Sites are close together, but we weren't expecting large spacious pads. And the CG is super quiet, no traffic noise! Staying here is a must if you're in the area of the New River Gorge bridge area.

What a great campground! Had no idea what to expect as I booked off a google search and reviews for a trip from TN to Maine and back my family is current on. This was our first stop on our way and it really spoiled us! The campground is so quiet and peaceful. The bathhouse was always super clean and the showers were strong and hot! Was very accessible to all the New River Gorge activities and I will definitely stay again if we are back in the area. Loved every minute of our stay in West Virginia!

This place is nestled in the mountain and has spacious sites for any style of camping. It is close to downtown Fayetteville, the National Park and 30 minutes from the exhibition Coal Mine. The grounds are kept clean as well as the bath houses. There is a fenced in area in which children can play. At times, we did feel as if the owners/staff were hovering with our children, but we rationalized that safety was their priority and that looks different for everyone.

Not only was the site superbly clean, but those running it were friendly, respectful and helpful. My friend and I felt safe the entire duration of our visit. Additionally, one of the individuals running the campground found a ring of mine that fell out of my car door and mailed it to me priority…it actually arrived back at my house before I did! I would absolutely recommend visiting this campground for several reasons!

A wonderful camping experience visiting New River Gorge NP! The staff was incredibly polite and helpful. The grounds are well-maintained and we had a spacious, private tent site. Not that we needed it while camping, but the campgrounds even have Wifi. It is located only a couple miles from the bridge and the national park visitor center and has restaurants and stores even closer for your convenience. Will certainly camp here again when returning in the future!

Absolutely fantastic place to camp. The owners are super friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for a great place to camp in Fayetteville, you cannot go wrong with Rifrafters. They are conveniently located right near downtown Fayetteville so you have all of the local amenities within a very easy drive. If you were a Whitewater boater, it is also very conveniently located near the new river gorge put in. We have been coming here for years and can honestly say this is the best campground, not only in Fayetteville but across the country. Give them a shot. You won’t be disappointed.

My pup and I stayed one night at Rifrafters. We didn’t have a reservation but folks came out to greet us as we arrived and helped us get a spot that fit our needs. We were just doing a quick car camping night as we passed through on a cross country road trip. The bathrooms were very well kept and there was never a crowded moment. I also used the coin-op laundry facilities and l appreciated the thoughtfulness of posting how long the cycles take to run as well as a clothesline strung up for air drying needs. And the price is hard to beat! Just $15.90 including tax for a tent site. Plus, they have a playground for those with the non-furry kids and other campers were all very friendly as well. I would absolutely come back again if ever I’m in the area. Highly recommend!

The only thing keeping this from being 5 stars is the gravel roads and some gravel RV sites. They do have a good wooded/shaded area with a lot of concrete RV pads, old but clean and well maintained shower house, tent and cabins for those interested. It's only 2 miles from Fayetteville and the new river George Bridge. Great place to stay if you want to camp in the area.

We chose this campground because it's proximity to the main hub of New River Gorge. It was definitely quick and easy to get to from the main headquarters of the park. It's not the most remote or spacious campground but definitely worked. For a Saturday night in camping season, they were not very full (especially in the tent section), so the extra space was nice. Some of the RV sites looked pretty close with little privacy (but we're tent campers so my opinion doesn't really count). All that being said, there's a back section of the campground that looked very new and sites had more space and scenery. The bathrooms were very nice and clean! The owners were also great. It was pouring when we checked in and they gave us a different tent site than originally booked so that we had a shelter out of the rain to set up our tent.Overall, I'd recommend the campground!

We stayed here overnight while motorcycle camping. Tent site 11 had electric and water. The shower/bath facility was very clean and well maintained. Also, if you are like us and don't like pitching a tent in the rain they have a lot of little cabins you can also rent. Lastly, I can't say enough about the staff, they really go above and beyond what you normally see. We would stay here again and highly recommend. 5
