This is a great, clean hotel with a welcoming front desk host. The lower ratings are from people with lower incomes who get upset at things like reasonable security deposits or asking that they mind their dog. To anyone passing by looking for a good place to crash for the night, this place is awesome. The hallway carpets are new and stain proof. Rooms are spic and span, with nice looking new laminate floors. Let’s say they hired a new cleaner, and that new cleaner did a bad job on your room because she’s new. Just let them know. I’m sure they’d take care of it. Leaving bad reviews for minor things hurts good people like this who are giving people excellent accommodation for a great value. Let’s help them get back to over 4 stars! It should be more like 4.7. Seriously.

Pros: clean rooms, good hot water pressure, friendly helpful staff, and breakfast snacks. Very firm mattress if you like that firmness. Cons: outside noise is easy to hear, put a white noise app on your phone. Black out curtains are so-so if you like a pitch black room. 2nd floor will help with the noise, but no elevator. For $50+ a night it was 4.5 stars.

Price was very reasonable and room was clean and very nice. Only negatives I saw was I requesting a handicap room and it was not. I hope they can find a way to remedy the smokers going outside but standing close to the doorway. It allowed heavy cigarette smoke oder into my room. I am a 7 year lung cancer survivor. By the night before I left, I was coughing. I didn't want to be a nuisance but I do hope they can find a way. Otherwise, great visit.

I started staying here on occasion about 2 months ago during renovation. Today I checked in to a brand new room and was amazed how updated and clean the rooms are now. For the price, you truly can't go wrong and the staff is very accommodating and friendly. I will continue to drive the extra 45 minutes out of my way to stay here as needed.Nearby activities: Conveniently located beside a Cracker Barrel and less then a minute from I-79.

They just remodeled the whole place. Patty is the Manager she and all her employees are very friendly they are like one happy family. I would definitely stay there again. They are also pet friendly!I highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!Rooms: Very Clean!😊Nearby activities: Prickett's FortSafety: It is very safeWalkability: The have a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store next to them, Family Doller close by, they have a gas station/market close by.Food & drinks: They have vending machines for drinks and snacks.They will be getting a waffle area so that you will be able to have breakfast there.

Under renovation but didn't effect our stay. Staff was absolutely fantastic! Coffee was delicious! Rooms were outdated but very clean. But they will all be brand new soon. Beds were comfy too. Worked perfect for what we needed. Will stay again.Noteworthy details: Amazing staff!!!!

To be fair, the website said there was construction underway, and it was! To get to my room, I walked through an active construction area. No carpet, dust everywhere, wires, room appointments laying across the floor, and a construction crew. The room was quiet, though. I hope I was in a room that was to be renovated because if that was a finished room, they shouldn't have wasted their time. The first night, the room felt nasty. While I was gone during the day, the room was cleaned and felt much better the second night. The brown color used in the room with the dark walls and carpet didn't help. The location was OK, but the State of West Virginia has been working on the interstate at this exit for three years, and it is dangerous driving through the area. It's even worse to try to get on the road on the exit. Even though I am a Wyndham Rewards member, I won't stay at this Super Eight again! The one positive was the friendliness of woman at the front desk.Rooms: Nasty but undergoing renovation. The room I was in needed it badly!Nearby activities: The mall and restaurants off the next exit were inviting, but construction on the interstate made it terrifying to try to get there! The Cracker Barrel that was next to the motel was convenient. The jumble of motels, gas stations, and retail entrances makes driving stressful.Safety: My room was in the middle of an active construction site. Doors from the outside were left standing open so anyone could easily access the motel without the knowledge of the front desk.Walkability: Walk to the Cracker Barrel and around the parking lot. That's it.

If you are here for a short stopover it's ok, if you are here for longer? It changes.... going on day 6 of a dirty room, housekeeping daily promises to stop by, but doesn't. I've had the front desk suggest 'maybe it's your dog', well since the housekeepers come up to him. Or he's under my feet I can't honestly see the issue, he's quite. No barking, or growling, doesn't show his teeth, nothing. My husband and I have stayed in a LOT of hotels, but this 1 takes the cake. But it does have nice pictures behind the beds? Lol

Room was very small, but for a one night stay it was clean, convenient, and all staff was very nice. I made a mistake on my reservation and they changed it without any problems. Only problem was there were only 2 small pillows on each bed. It felt like there was mo pillow at all. One more thing I could suggest is if there are 3 people on the Reservation put an extra towel and washrag in the bathroom. Overall great experience.

I booked a room for my 5 kids and myself without knowing just because I'm a local I needed $100 cash deposit? I was never told anything like that or I wouldn't of booked it. Then I asked for it to be canceled and im told it was. Now I can't seem to get a refund for a room I can't even be in because they won't answer the phone to verify it's been canceled. Already in a tough enough situation and seemed like people just wanted to be rude about things and now not even answer the phone so I can get my money back.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It’s dirty. My room smelled musty, the TV didn’t work properly and so many other things wrong. It said the room was cleaned and sanitized but the bathroom floor was never cleaned and there was something behind the front door on the wall stained. Their “free breakfast” was granola bars, yogurt with coffee or juice. I’ve never stayed somewhere so disgusting I’m surprised there wasn’t beg bugs.

this hotel was being remodeled while I stayed with my team. The rooms that were available were clean, the staff was helpful and friendly helping a student find a lost item. For the price, we will return.Noteworthy details: Right off the highway, convenient to activities in Fairmont and the airport.

Room was clean, but heater only blew warm air and was turned off when we went in our room when it was -2 degrees outside. Had heater on hi and still did not warm up room after 3 hours. Front desk lady was not there to check us in we had to wait 5 mins for her. Was not informed of the $100 cash deposit (was told it was because we lived locally). Also tv in our room came on but there was only sound and no picture at all so could not us tv. And bath tube had no plug in it so you could not take a bath if you wanted to. Ended up checking out and going to a different hotel because we tried to lay down to go to bed and both started itching and getting hives.

I made a reservation early on Sept. 16, 22. I rode 495 miles on a motorcycle and arrived at dusk. Staff was great. Room was adequate. Breakfast was minimal. I left a gratuity for the chamber people as always; and left the next morning. I got a bill for $91.92. I received an additional charge for $35.00 on my credit card; saying I arrived on the 16th and departed on the 22nd. I called the front desk and was told the charge was for something I damaged. She could not tell me what I damaged?! I CAN tell you reader, that I did no such thing. I am not a trouble maker; AND, if I had damaged anything, I would have admitted this. You can't make everbody happy. I am not. The current manager (Jessica) could not help me. Super 8 Corporate would not help me. You've been warned.

The rooms were a basic no frills room. We were looking for just that with all the exploring we did in the area. They allow dogs with a $15 a day charge per dog so keep that in mind if you're staying for more than a few days for you budget friendly guests 👍All the hotel staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming!!

So my husband and I came for a family reunion we came in 8/31 and were going to check out on 9/4. When we got to the room it had a sticker on the door indicating the room was clean. Well that could not be further from the truth. Everything was dusty, the AC was dirty. The toilet was dirty on the inside.. it was so bad that the first night I had a server asthma attack. We cleaned up what we could. They say they have a breakfast... Not really I know you get what you pay for, but some pastry or something. They had tiny granola bars Activia yogurt coffee and juice. I work at a hotel and come on they barely did the minimum.

Not a bad place to stay, but I have stayed in cleaner Super 8's.All of the electronics worked well.A few things that we're not top shelf is the freezer needed defrosted, to the point where the freezer door was open and made the whole refrigerator and freezer, there were cigarette burns on the blanket in a non-smoking room, and there was only a shampoo and a soap, but no conditioner in the bathroom. Nothing too major, but I'm used to a pretty good visit at Super 8.I wouldn't not stay, just a little few things.

Our room was bigger than we expected & was very clean. The beds, even the pull-out couches, were extremely comfortable. The staff, especially the front desk, Renee, was friendly, efficient & wonderful! They went above & beyond to take care of us! We will definitely stay here again next time we come visit!

This is a really nice hotel with plenty of places in the room to charge electronic devices. The hotel WiFi is open and works well. The room was clean and nice. It had a small refrigerator and microwave. They have coffee in the lobby and it's good. I will definitely stay here again. The people who work at the front desk are very nice.

The room was okay, besides cigarette burned sheets and linens inside our non-smoking room. The hotel wrongly, and very inconveniently mischarged my credit card 85.00$, the day after checking out. When I called the hotel, the front desk clerk said I was charged because their housekeeping claimed either my co-worker or I had stole “2 bath towels and a wash rag” from the room. I told them neither of us had, and they then told the front desk clerk that they had mixed up our room with someone else’s who had apparently stole some shower cloths. They also told me they had refunded the mischarged, and that my card would be credited for the mistake with-in 48 hours. It has been nearly a week and they have yet to reverse the charge😟

As soon as the doors open,, you get hit with a funny smell, like a candle trying to cover something. I was uncomfortable the second I stepped in the room as it clearly wasn't ready for guests. The bathroom floor needed to be wiped up, soap scum in sink and a well established spider web in tub. The worst was the bedding. It looked dingy and the stain on the pillow was the final straw. We obviously left shortly after arriving.Front desk staff was friendly. I hope ownership gets this place cleaned up so the nice employees don't have to keep dealing with unhappy guests.

Had little options for pet rooms in the area…. My room smells of pee a bit, but as a pet room it’s bound to happen. Very outdated. Basically clean. Staff at desk seemed to not like their job.Oh well, it’s a bed. It was comfy. Coffee in the morning and grab and go breakfast starts at 6.Note: there is a $10/pet fee per night.

We stayed in a non smoking 2 queen bed room as a couple. It was clean. Heater/AC was a little old. But you can't beat the price for a clean and comfy place to rest your head. Breakfast was minimal. Overall very happy with the value.
