I have positive interactions with Beau and company every time I stop in or talk to them. Such down to earth good people. They make an incredible in house local product with the Catch Cam Net. However, the fly shop has quite a selection of terminal tackle and rods and reels. If you are into fly tying they have plenty for they too. Nothing but good things to say. Easily the best shop I know of and definitely in the area. The staff and owner will bend over backwards to get you what you need, and have more information about the sport and the surrounding areas and further, than you could ever absorb. And their fly tiers might be some of the best in the business, not to mention their material selection. I can’t say enough about the team at Natives Fly Shop.

Natives fly fish is an amazing shop! Absolutely love it. They carry American made fly rods and reels, a great assortment of flies and fly tying materials too. Always a friendly and helpful atmosphere. They always make me feel welcome and answer all of my questions. They are also home to catch cam nets, which are really cool! I highly recommend this shop for all your fly fishing needs. I just can't say enough great things about thos shop. Check it out, you'll be glad you did!

Natives Fly Fishing is a small local business with a big heart. The team at Natives are all wise and know the best fishing holes and very knowledgeable about flies and gear. The other amazing thing about the entire experience is the relationship you develop. It’s more like a family approach than a business. The vibe is perfect. I highly recommend trying a guided tour. They also teach how to tie flies that are hatching.

I recently was fortunate enough to go trout fishing with Natives' guide service. While I've been a fly angler for several years, I've predominantly been a warm water fisherman targeting bass and panfish, and had little luck finding trout. From the first call to the shop to even now, after the trip, the guys have all been extremely helpful, and I learned a ton. I caught my first (ever) brown trout and have a much improved confidence in my ability to find and catch trout in the future. Thanks guys for the great experience and education! Awesome place to get your fly fishing gear and fly tying material. The owner is real down to earth, personable, and willing to answer any questions. He has helped me out a ton there. I wish there was a place like this sooner in the area but I am so happy it is hear now. The nets he makes are great too and the other equipment he sells are high quality. Definitely recommend going to checking it out if you are new or have been fishing your whole life.... Also the shop dog is AWESOME!

Fly Fisherman in Fairmont are very fortunate to have Natives Fly Fishing & Outfitter.I have stopped in the shop a few times prior to committing to fly fishing. The Catch Cam Net was my first purchase; first impression was a quality product. It was obviously manufactured to provide a product that can take the variable conditions of the outdoors and visually pleasing as well. I went with the Rainbow Trout Design. The action camera attachment is also a great feature for those who like to document that day's catch; my GoPro fits as designed with the Catch Cam base and produces a quality visual in film.Next, we dive into the Beginner Fly Fishing Trout session that took place in the Catch & Release section of Seneca, WV. This trip was lead by Jimmy who immediately got the day in motion with the basics. Once we hit the stream, the motions and lessons came to fruition as we stirred up a handful of trout. Jimmy was informative, patient, and very persistent with trying to get us onto some fish. Gear and other provisions were provided for a day full of fishing, lunch was also included. Overall, it was a successful day in regard to lessons learned and a new hobby gained.I am excited to say that I have made my first purchase into the fly fishing world with a beginner Cortland setup that Natives had in stock. Starting off with fly setup out of the box seemed to be the most feasible option for me at this time. Beau was great with navigating me into this purchase, providing great tips/ideas on how to get started and fly's that are appealing to trout this time of year.Looking forward to getting more involved within this community and the next Bugs & Brews event that the Field Club in Fairmont houses.

This is an awesome little shop. The gentleman working was extremely friendly, they had a good variety of items, they were just a short drive off of the interstate, and it looks like they carry some mean musky flies (if you are into emotional self-abuse fishing)I can't wait to go back!
