I have only been here once. I was looking into expanding our family with a dog in need of a home instead of going to a breeder. My dog is almost 11 and is feeling her age. We do give our pets their own vaccines and have the receipts and plastic bags the vaccines come in, however, to adopt a dog you need vet records. I can show our records but do not count as they did not come from a vet. Our 11 yr old will have to go there to meet the 'new' dog but she can no longer jump in the back of our car due to bad hips... she's a GSD. Fees are good and security for the pet is good but too much for us with the loop holes which means we are going to a breeder.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience adopting a kitten here! We had to fill out an application and they called the references we listed on the application. The cats’ cages were all really clean and the people working there clearly loved the animals. I wish they had a room so that you could take the cats out and “play” with them. You could only hold them outside of their cages. We love the sweet kitten we adopted!

Extremely pleased with the experience I had adopting a dog. It was very painless and just involved some paper work for them to get to know the applicant. They happily showed us around and let us meet some of the dogs and were very forthcoming with answers to our questions. I truly believe they want to see these animals find a good home where they can be themselves and live long, happy lives. We hope to carry on this mission from our point of view by providing our new addition to our family, Huey, a safe, warm and loving home!!!

They aren't as bad as Harrison county but they aren't any better. Both places don't care if animals are left tied up and starving. Both places refused to pick up a animal. Worthless

Excellent non-profit no-kill shelter. Very knowledgeable & dedicated staff, friendly, helpful and goes the extra mile to save lives and complete families. I have volunteered for this organization and know first hand every effort is made to match families and animals so they live a life filled with love and acceptance. Very clean facility inside and out even though the facility is very old.

The People at the Humane Society were very pleasant and easy to talk to!!The two dogs 🐕 we saw were very well kept up... they will give you a pet that will suit your needs!They gave us treats to give each dog 🐶!!The dogs were behaved and nice 👍!!You can bring in things for the animals, such as on the picture with a list on it that I took!I suggest going here because every animal needs a happy home 🏡!!Come adopt today!!P.S. Highly recommended if you are looking for a new pet.You will need to fill out an app before you adopt. The fee for dogs is $175. This covers spay/neuter, first and updated shots, deworming, and heart worm.You can visit the animals as well. They are always looking for donations to help out the program.

This is a great shelter!! I saw a dog on petfinder that I wanted to meet. When I arrived at the shelter and asked for him by name, all of the volunteers immediately knew which dog I was speaking of. The staff seems to really know and care for animals!About a month ago I adopted a year old coonhound from them. They called me a few weeks after his adoption to see how things were going. I told them about a few training issues we were having and they called back & emailed me with extra tips and ideas.They aren't at all pushy with their follow ups. They are great and I really feel like they're trying to make sure the adoption is going well.I've adopted animals from other shelters, and none of them have seemed to truly care for the animals as this shelter does. It's amazing. makes me so happy to support them!

I think they need a new building. More room is definitely needed. I read somewhere that they were working on that and I hope it goes through. The people there are friendly and seem to care. But the place smells so bad.
