Chipps recently took care of my AC / Freon issue. They were quick & efficient but also communicated with me during the day the day they had my vehicle. Was referred here by a friend for valve cover gasket replacement on an 05 dodge grand caravan along with some other things that needed fixed. They did an amazing job with this visit. The difference from before and after was night and day, in a good way. I will continue to take my vehicles here for service. They treat your vehicle like their own. Don't push things on you you don't need. And are solid people to work with. No complaints from me. If you ask anyone, I always have at least one complaint about something. Not with Chipps. Keep up the excellent service guys!

They replaced some axles on a Subaru I had. Manage to get it done in a day. It looks good and rides smoother now. However I wish they would have wiped away the axle grease around the exhaust from switching it out, had more smoke leaving the shop than I arrived. All around friendly people there. Edit: they addressed the issue I had and apologized for it! Great customer service and all around great experience.

Update: I have continued to use Chipps for maintenance and repairs of my three vehicles. I like that my vehicle is fixed right the first time. I appreciate accurate estimates. The friendly staff is great to work with. I have recommended Chipps to my friends.Original post: We just moved to the area and Chipps is our mechanic. They are friendly and knowledgeable. One of things that is important to me is that the mechanic looks things over and gives me an idea of what needs to be fixed. I never feel like they are trying to gouge me. They are honest. They replaced my slave cylinder in my 04 Honda civic and i am forever grateful! I dropped my car off after work at 8pm and by 3pm the next day it was finished and ready to be driven home! I had NO IDEA my clutch was that bad until they returned it to me feeling like a brand new car! The staff was super polite, knowledgeable, communicated with me throughout the qhole expierence. I am out of state my new jeep had a rock gothru the radiator and all the jeep dealers would not see me. Jeep said they could look at it in a month or two. Chipps was busy but checked my jeep and repaired it in a few short days. They took care of me and I would highly recommend them if you are in the area. Once again they saved me and I really appreciate them. The staff is very friendly and professional. They provided a general time frame for the repairs, along with an estimate of the charges, and they stuck by the time frame and the charges. Unlike a certain car dealership I have used in the past but will never use again, they didn't shove a bunch of routine maintenance jobs in front of my repair work and they didn't just start trying a bunch of things that might fix the problem. Took a week to change serp belt and check fluids. After getting my car back, I've had to tighten these cheap Duralast belts twice. Drove an hour to get there (because I thought they'd be OK), so I feel as if I've wasted the money on parts, labor AND gas.

Service is always fast, honest, reasonably priced, and the work is done right the first time. They go above and beyond. During covid I had a scheduled appointment to replace brakes and rotars, had injured my back and couldn't drive, they were nice enough to come pick up my jeep and bring it back when the work was complete so I wouldn't have to reschedule.

I've been taking my vehicles to Chipps for several years now. They do great work. They have true mechanics who work there, rather than just "service technicians" who can only resolve a problem with a code reader and a step by step service manual. As an example, we have a hard top convertiable that wasn't raising and lowering correctly. The dealer didn't know how to repair it and gave me an estimate of $3000 + to replace every component. Chips looked at it and did the repair for under $200. It's functioned great ever since. From major repair to oil changes, I recommend Chipps.

Third mechanic I've been to in Fairmont. I have no need to look for a fourth.They replaced my brakes, calipers, rotors, and fuel neck. They allowed me to keep my car on their lot until I could save up to get the work done. They took payments and started the work when I had the majority of estimated cost paid.I left the shop and still had an issue that was supposed to be addressed. I had my car towed to this shop to get a diagnosis of why my car shut off when I put it into drive and reverse. They called me back and said my transmission was bad. I could not afford a new transmission so, I had it towed home and took it to another garage...It was NOT the transmission at all. It was a bad MAF sensor. I will NEVER take nor recommend this place again nor to ANYONE.

These guys are great! Our transmission went out on our way through to go on our first ever family vacation. We dropped our vehicle off with them and rented a car to finish our trip. These guys were able to get our vehicle in and get a new transmission and the work completed by the time we finished our trip. They were a little higher priced than a couple other nearby shops, but I don't regret paying a little more for the service and quality work that we received from them. They saved us as much money as they could due to the situation and we are very thankful!! We made it home and they called to check on things. That means a lot.

I took my car there when I thought I had a transmission problem. It ended up being some things left over from a previous accident. They weren't able to get the insurance to work with them but they did an excellent job keeping me appraised of what was going on and were very honest and upfront with me about what was going on and I needed to take the vehicle back to the place that originally did the work.Services: Transmission, Air conditioning

I highly recommend Chips Auto Repair. They are honest! I miss understood when getting an estimate, I thought he said $2,000. When I went to pay for the services, he said no, it was $1,000. He could have easily pocketed the extra $1,000 but he was honest. They also completed the work in a timely manner and are very customer oriented! I called to see if they could do a repair on my car and quoted me for $300. I called gwyn tires right after and got quoted $50 for the Same job. Won't ever be taking my car to chips.
