Best vet to take your pet! Dr. Leadmon is the best! Margaret is always helpful at the front desk. I wouldn’t trust my 4 furr babies with anyone else. Highly recommended!!!!!

My wife took our bulldog in today for a visit and the veterinarian acted as if she didn’t even want our dog to touch her. And then they catch an attitude when my wife asks if they can pick him up to put him on the table because she’s pregnant (he’s over 50lb). On top of that he was breathing hard (as anyone who has owned an English bulldog or frenchie would know) and they asked her to hold his mouth shut because he was too loud. And lastly, they won’t even give a simple flee pill for any of your other animals unless you bring them in to be seen which is absurd and simply looking for money as it’s a $54 fee just to bring them in. Will not be back with any of our animals.

My Sister talked me into taking my cats to Elk Valley Vet & I decided since they were so close to where I live, I would give them a try. I am very happy I did. I have been completely happy with the Vets there, the caring staff & treatments that the Vets have given to all of my cats. I have never been unhappy with any Vet or staff member.

The staff at Elk Valley and Valley West are some of the best in the region. Our experiences with them have always been wonderful. They are knowledgeable and caring, we couldn't ask for better place to take care of our pets!

Today was my pet’s first visit to this veterinary practice, and I could not have been more pleased. His last vet’s office still has Covid rules in place, so this is the first time I’ve been in with him. The receptionist was nice and prompt, and the vet tech was not put out by my dog screaming when she tried to move him. They were very patient and kind, answered all my questions and, the cherry on top—they were much less expensive than the last vet AND did more! The vet we saw, Dr. Amy Isaac, has been the vet of others in our family, and I could not have been more happy with her.

I had a hard time finding a good vet for my doggo. I gladly drive extra far to come here. The people are nice and I know my dog is in good hands.

My pets have been patients at Elk Valley Hospital for the 25+ years. I love all the doctors there. They get excellent care. When I recommend them I have people say they are expensive but they treat my pets like they are their own. The staff always know who you are and remember your pets. If you have tried other vets and are not happy with the care you are receiving then you need to try Elk Valley they are exceptional in my book. I have had numerous pet children with them.

We have horses AND this is one of the few places that treat horses. Staff friendly. Dr.Amy did a farm visit to start treatment. Dr Marshal treated her also. She had to be referred to Lexington Rood and Riddle hospital for a surgery with follow up care being here. They promptly got the referral taken care of. They've been wonderful! Great support over the phone when there has been a question. Definitely recommend!

Elk Valley Veterinary Hospital took wonderful care of my baby Maggie. On 6/9/23 we had took our baby Maggie there to be put down so she would not suffer any longer. The staff there help my husband to get Maggie out of the truck, laid her on the table and begun to shave her leg....but in that time, the lord was already calling our baby home....so the staff finished what they had to do to help our baby be at rest. The best thing was that we did not have to remove our baby from their care....they took care of her and the Elk Valley Pet Crematorium staff came to pick her up to have our baby cremated. What I do especially love about this is as I was looking for a urn for our baby with a paw print, when I called to see if it was to late, Elk Valley Pet Crematorium said it was =(....but the best part of this review is that the day I picked up our baby from Elk Valley Pet Crematorium and brought her home, I checked the mail and I had a card in there from Elk Valley Veterinary Hospital with the staffs signatures and messages....but the BEST part was they had Maggie's paw and nose print in there as well ....that was just the BEST gift ever!!!! Thank you Elk Valley Veterinary Hospital for doing that for me, that just melted my heart when I got that in the mail.

This was the best visit I have experienced at a Vet. Everyone was extremely friendly, as soon as we walked in they gave us a blanket with cat calming pheromones on it to drape over our cat carrier, that stuff really works. It calmed my cat right down, when we went in the back our cat was a little restless and was trying to find a place to hide, as soon as we put the blanket in front of him he calmed down and relaxed. They were up front about the different options we had and gave us quotes on both low end and high end. They were very gentle and thorough with our cat. There also was hardly any wait time. They were really well priced too. I definitely highly recommend them for the care of your pets.

I've been going to Bob Marshall for 25 years or more and Amy Leadmon since she joined the practice. They've seen my cats, dogs, and horses over the years. Only the birds go to a different vet because they don't do exotics. I always trust them to give me their honest opinions, admit when they don't know the answer to something, consult with each other, and refer me to an outside clinic when they aren't able to perform a test or procedure. They're always good about listening when I think a "recommended treatment" isn't necessary for my animal's particular situation. Yesterday, I questioned whether something was really necessary for my 100% indoor cat and the answer was, "Honestly no. I don't do it for my indoor cats either." They'll also call me back 100% of the time if I call them for a question.The practice has gotten more expensive than it used to be when Dr. Marshall and Dr. Isaac's (the elder, not the son) owned it, but they provide top notch care for my animals.

Best vet practice in Kanawha County! As a child our family took pets to Elk Valley where the doctors, especially Dr. Marshall and now retired Dr. Isaac Sr., were so kind. I specifically remember the kind attention they, and all of the staff, showed to pet friends and the time they took to explain concerns to our family. I was always so touched that they remembered our pets and loved visiting the office cat that laid on top of the computer! Good sign when a vet practice keeps a pet! As an adult with a pet I didn’t have to search for a professional and caring practice, I knew to head to Elk Valley! Staff are caring, attentive, and professional and all of the doctors are top notch. I would, and have, advised people to head to Elk Valley for quality care.

Elk Valley is a fantastic clinic. Everyone is so nice and knowledgeable and cares a lot about the animals that come through the door. We've been bringing our dogs here for years and the experience is always great. they make time for urgent issues even when they're busy and the vets always come outside to talk to you about your pet. We live a ways away but this is our vet of choice. Thanks for all that you do!
