Brand Standards and cleanliness are not a priority for the Elkins Dairy Queen. Neither is any form of customer service. The young man who was at the cashier station walked away as soon as a girl that he was fighting with came in the store. He came back to the register three times but she was still there so he walked away again. After almost 7 minutes of standing there without anyone acknowledging that there was a line 5 people deep, the annoyed and unwashed "manager" James walked over and rudely dealt with those of us in line. The man needs to bath and brush his hair more than once a week. You should also clean your store more than once a day. There was no where to sit as every table had some form of food left over on it and nothing had been wiped down. If I were an employee at this store and James was my "Manager" i would have walked out last night for the way that he was treating people. I am old school. You go to work to work, not stand around so i understand the frustration, but you dont get to talk to people the he does or treat employees the way he does. They are not employees. They are people and more than that, they are kids. If you cant handle the stressors of being in management then you need to find a new line of work because if I ever heard my kids managers speaking the way he was my kids would no longer work there. That man is toxic

My 8 year old says your place is the best and that nothing is better than dairy queen's gravy and fries. I called to see if they served gravy and they answered quickly! When we pulled up they gave us an extra gravy! We have been in Connecticut where dairy queens there do not have gravy 😭😭Thank you Elkins DQ!!!

I went for a Ice Cream Cake and was trying to figure out which ones were what I needed it was the chocolate crunch cake. One of the Ladies helped she was very helpful and nice. I got a very pretty one I got them to write on it for me for a Birthday.I also got one of the Valentine's Day Cakes they had that was marked down that I wanted to try.Both cakes were delicious. 😋The person that helped me I think was a Manager or Supervisor she was the Best very nice and helpful and she knew what they had in stock and gave me suggestions.Great place to go to. They are busy most of the time.

PLEASE READ!! 1st- A Flamethrower Burger without ALL of the toppings is just torture and disappointing....2nd- Employees at this Elkins DQ were speaking innapropriately about a customer during our visit. I overheard them talking badly about the person in front of me in the drive-thru. Loudly enough for my whole family to hear the Employee calling her a drug addict from inside our car. Even if true, she was there to spend money as a customer, not an inconvenience, and they were discriminating and making assumptions. I am very disappointed that I had to witness this and was not even going to share this experience. But when I realized they were focused more on that innappropriate gossip than making my meal correctly, I had to share. This is customer service 101- back to class kids. Discrimination and negative feedback is Never okay, no matter what the justifications and reasons one may think. Just remain respectful after they leave your window also, you never know who's watching or listening. Visit: Early May, 2023

I figured when I bought a cake and they ask if you want anything written on it that it would be decent or neat. I never figured when I bought a beautiful cake they would ruin it by letting someone scribble on it with writing that looked like a drunk had wrote it and un even as heck. Like really, I could have done a better job blind folded. This writing was so bad that it ruined the beauty of the cake. I kinda got the notion today that the guy that took the cake to write on it might have been having a bad day. But really dude, really! That was the worst wring I have ever witnessed. Thanks a lot!

This isn't a terrible DQ. I've never had anything wrong with the service at this particular location. However, I am VERY disappointed that DQ discontinued the rotisserie chicken bites. I now have less of a reason to eat here because the one thing I could eat that wasn’t the ice cream is no longer on the menu...Dietary restrictions: Removal of grilled chicken took away what was best for my dietary/food sensory needs.

Where is customer service now a days ?? We need to be making sure these kids have great in-person communicating Skillz. Tha net has def helped with social skillz. Cashier was rude, gave us wrong total then had a attitude when asked for spoons. Our order was wrong, tried to call store with no response, actually tried for 2 days no answer! Horrible experience!

This has to be the most disappointing DQ. For the last 2 years, every time I come to this DQ my order is never correct. At first I thought it was just a fluke, but now? No. Definitely not a fluke. I haven't wrote till now because I thought it was just a fluke or a new person. But no. This is enough. My orders are never mixed properly and more times than necessary my order hasn't had the ingredients in it at all. Tonight for example. My family and I went to visit this DQ. We went through the drive through to get 3 ice-creams and 2 burgers. My family enjoyed there burgers, however the ice-cream was a different story. We ordered 1 Large Peanut butter puppy chow blizzard, 1 large smore blizzard and 1 medium smore blizzard. The puppy Chow Blizzard seemed to come out alright. It had all its ingredients. It wasn't mixed the best but it wasn't the worst I have seen. Then the Smores Blizzards. I have had the smores blizzard before so I am familiar with it. It did not have its chocolate, too much gram cracker crumbs, and noticeably no marshmallow. Just plain vanilla ice-cream. In either the large or the medium. Seeing as the puppy chow blizzard was done almost properly, this leads me to believe that someone else mixed the smores blizzards. This isn't the only time (obviously) that this has happened. For the last 2 years it has been like this. My orders have come unmixed, the wrong flavor, missing ingredients, melted. And obviously its not just my orders. I can understand new people in training and rush hours or busy days, but the amount of consistently wrong orders is very disappointing. I don't typically write reviews, hence this being the first for this complaint. But I felt that after it being so long with the same thing nearly every time I visit, Maybe its time to write one. This DQ gets a 1 star from me and needless to say I wont be returning to it. At least until some better training or management and supervision gets put in and quality changes are made. I'm sorry to write such a bad review, but I am very disappointed with this store and wanted to warn others.

I just went to Dairy Queen on Friday with a family member and we got two large blizzards for $11. Well anyway we wasn’t pleased at all the one blizzard was a chocolate chip cookie dough flavored one. Well it was supposed to be anyway, but it wasn’t it was all melted down to like milky smooth right when the worker handed it to me. That was awful. It didn’t have any chocolate chips or cookie dough chunks in it either. The other blizzard was a choco brownie extreme blizzard. It was the same way and it didn’t have and brownie chunks in it either except for maybe just one. Overall awful experience we expected better blizzards then that. Not worth the time and money for what we got.

Three of us went there through the drive-through yesterday February 23 at about 330 4 o’clock. Not pleased at all. We all ordered the chicken tender basket. We were anything but pleased. The food was luke warm not hot like you would expect it to be. The fries were in the boxes no tissue paper under them like it is at other Diary Queens we’ve order this meal many times at other diary Queens. The portion of the fries were unacceptable there weren’t very many fries. None of us got the Texas toast that came with the chicken tender meal. I didn’t go back because we had a 4 hour drive ahead of us to get home. The cashier at the window was polite and friendly.

I was Disappointed with my recent trip to dairy queen for a couple of reasons, which I'm sad about because I have always enjoyed dairy queens ice cream centric menu and over all home spun vibe. First problem is I was disappointed to find out that you can't dine in at either the Elkins locations or the the marlington restaurant, there was no signage as to what reason they are drive through only, so I don't know if this is a temporary issue or a permanent one. The second problem was that 5 out 6 people I went with didn't get what they ordered, and worse then just being wrong, our ice cream was almost all liquid, and I don't know why because our wait wasn't long and the outside temp wasn't that high.

After working a full time job and taking care of my mom every day I give myself one treat a week and that’s a cheesecake blizzard on Saturday, we’ll I ordered 2 sandwiches and a banana split for my husband and my blizzard it was $24. which I don’t complain about but when I ate my little more than 1/2 a cup of plain vanilla ice cream I was just very disappointed, so no treat for me 😔. Come on DQ just give me what I order I paid a lot for that little bit of ice cream. So no thanks I don’t need a little treat like that. Im done with you

It's not great for hot food, my fries were ice cold and stale. When I asked for hot fries I got a bit of an attitude from the counter girl. Whatever. My burger wasn't that fresh either. Their main focus, and point of sale, is obviously desserts. Not good for food, but good for ice cream and dessert items.

I love their ice cream, who doesnt. But, unfortunately this is the 3rd time in a year I have went to this restaurant and my order was made incorrectly. If you order a "plain cheeseburger", they will still put pickles, ketchup and mustard on the sandwich. The bun was a little stale. Make sure to mention "just meat, cheese and bread" if you want zero toppings. But, I still love their food when I have the chance to dine there, was a little let down with my order being incorrect again.

The burger was surprisingly good! Onions, lettuce tomato were all fresh. The bun had no seeds, which was perfect for me, so we will incorporate dairy queen into our lunch choice from now on!

I fell in love with the Pretzel Sticks. The somewhat spicy cheese dip was good, but I will always get my favorite yellow mustard from now on. Very customer-friendly girl at the window.

Your price changes everyday if you go with a couple other people you can order the same thing and each will be a different price. The black woman that works inside needs to be fired. She is not just having a bad day she is extremely terrible every time. She would be the perfect example of what not to do!

The staff was a little slow and not necessarily polite. But they also weren't impolite. The food was good. Their $5 lunch is the best deal in town!
