Great Forest! Really Enjoy It Here. We've Stayed Here About 5 Times Now! The Cabins Are Beautiful And Well Up To Date! The Staff Is Friendly. The Area Is Beautiful With So Much To Do! Love Nature Walks,Photography And Just Being Able To Explore. Good Fishing And Places To Just Wade In The Creek. The Playgrounds Are Nice And So Are The Shelters.

Stayed in Cabin #9 this past week. Fantastic is an understatement. We rode on the HMT four days and put 140 miles on our SxS. Could not believe how nice the cabin was! Cleanest place we have stayed in a long time. Highly recommend. Pet friendly! Will be back very soon!

We stayed in cabin #2 for 3 nights (4/17-4/20/2024) and we were extremely pleased with our Cabin. These cabins have updated amenities which include Roku TV and Wi-Fi. The wi-fi was so important because we couldn’t have communicated with family back home without it. The cabin also has an updated a/c unit, shower, cabinets, sinks and faucets. There is a working fireplace and the wood is provided by the park. What stood out above everything else is how CLEAN everything is. Completely spotless and new looking surfaces from the rafters to the floors. Definitely not what we were expecting from a 1930’s cabin. And the price? Way cheaper than holiday inn with trail access in my front yard. I’m so happy that we chose to stay here.

For me it's been a gathering place for our family. We have been staying there every year for 23 years. We play horseshoes, grill, and sit by a campfire. It's a beautiful wooded area. Great place for hikes and walks. We usually bring bicycles too.

Best place EVER to spend time getting back to your roots. Layed back, quiet atmosphere of a lush and beautiful forest where you and your loved ones can disconnect from the hustle and bustle of ordinary, everyday life and get connected to nature by taking a jogging trail through the forest, or hike to one of the many covered log pavilions with gorgeous stone fireplaces. Fishing, swimming, camping sites, cabins, games are also available

Beautiful park disconnected from the stresses of life! The staff in the park office were very pleasant and Emmett is a great guy! Enjoyed staying in the old cabins, although they do need some minor repairs. All in all it's a great place to disconnect and relax

I came back to visit with you. But all I could find was a memory full of promises. It's beautiful. A place I will never forget.

We had an awesome time. Trails are very well maintained. Lots of scenery and peaceful riding through a state park. We stayed at a local Airbnb that was right off the trail and was able to ride our utv to the gas station for pizza and refreshments. Some say the trails are easy but that is right up our alley.

Got chewed up with flea bites. Stayed in one of the pet friendly cabins and had to leave early. The whole park, trails, scenery, and staff where great ! Just be cautious of accommodations that allow animals.

The power was out and we had to leave early. Was not the state parks fault. It was Mother Nature's 🙂 The cabin was nice. We rode on the trails which were amazing. My only issue with the park is that some of the people whom utilize this beautiful park use it as a dumpster. People drink while riding the trails and throw their beer cans out. I would assume so the forest rangers don't arrest them. There was also other various trash people dumped. All in all beautiful place. Do not follow the GPS. Look at a paper map.

We didn't do a lot here but the ladies at the gift shop were nice and the trails and were pretty. We're experienced hikers so the trails were a little more than we could handle, but would be perfect for the seasoned hiker, ATVS or horseback.

If you want a place in the forest, in the middle of nowhere, this is the place for you. There is only one convenience store around, which has a deli, and has a good menu of things they will cook (including pizza, which I recommend). No walmarts or other shopping for about a 45 minute drive. It's part of the Hatfield/Mccoy Appalachian trail, so bring your 4 wheeler or side-by-side if you want. Cabin was well equipped, outside had a charcoal grill and a fire pit. We cooked hot dogs and made s'mores. Took walks on a trail. Beautiful fall colors. Cabin #14 is 3BR , 1 1/2 BA with 2 full size beds and 2 twins.

We stayed 4 days in one of the cabins with our 2 dogs last October. They are CCC cabins and have everything you need. Really enjoyed the cabin and the new upgrades. The down side of cabwaylingo is that if you enjoy hiking, the trails are not very well maintained or not maintained at all. Lots of household trash thrown out and scattered along some of the trails. This sight ruins it for anyone trying to enjoy the outdoors. However there are lots of trails for UTV's to enjoy. Just wish there were a few more trails for people who enjoy to go out on foot. Overal we had a very nice and relaxing stay. Friendly staff that is willing to answer any questions you might have.

My family used to visit here when my great-grandfather was alive. We stayed in cabin 14. There’s lots to do here like hiking, playing on the playgrounds, the pool (in the summer), swimming or wading in the creek and building a campfire for roasting marshmallows. The last time we were here there was tv and cable in the cabin which is disappointing to me because it takes away from the experience of making your own fun or going outdoors. I’m hoping my husband and I can make a trip here this summer!

How time seems to have forgotten this once great park. It is still clean, for the most part, but not as meticulous as it once was. The picnic shelters have been allowed to over grow, the trail system is much the same. While the river is nice to wade in, there are places where there is a collection of trash that makes it undesirable to bother with. The biggest let down, especially for the campers who are brave enough to enjoy the beauty in spite of the lack of amenities, is that the pool sits empty and forgotten.

First time here. Wife and I really enjoyed our stay. Loved our cabin. Bundle of firewood is steep. $8.50 for a very small bundle. Overall though, we enjoyed our time and plan on returning.
