We've never had a bad experience with Ridge View, so when they posted that they were going to be having smoked meatloaf, we knew we had to try it. I'm really glad we did, because it is amazingly good. The smoke adds a great layer of flavor to the meatloaf that I never would have considered. It's great on its own or in a sandwich. We got 2 of the sandwiches from Ridge View and a full loaf and we've been making meat loaf sandwiches non stop. Definitely recommend.

My husband and I went here for a late lunch today. We were met with a clean restaurant and smiling faces behind the counter. We ordered our food and it was reasonably priced, we waited about 4 minutes for it. Pulled pork was delicious and the sides were up there with it. My husband had the brisket sandwich and really enjoyed it as well. This wasn't my husbands first time but it was for me, I was impressed overall with the friendliness and fast service. The quality of the food was fabulous and portion sizes were pretty mighty. Thank you!

Our visit-- the 328th 'cue stop across 35 states-- proved largely disappointing. While the restaurant is open for lunch, it is drive-through only at the dinner hour. So, we ended up eating the Friday special-- a 4 meat/ 4 side platter-- at our hotel. There was a lot of food here for $24.93 plus tax, with a bag of pork rinds and an apple crisp bringing the bill up to $36.02.For the meats, we chose brisket, ribs, pulled pork and Italian sausage, and for the sides corn muffins, coleslaw, green beans, and mac 'n cheese. The pork rinds were great, but the heavily sauced ribs proved mushy and bland. The Italian sausage was unremarkable, but the pulled pork was a very tasty bite that we would order again without hesitation. The 4 sides and the apple crisp weren't bad, but there was nothing memorable about any of them.This leaves the brisket, which is the epicenter of the BBQ universe. This was sliced too thick, lacked a pink ring, bark and discernible seasoning, and whatever smokiness it might have once possessed vanished beneath a slathering of sauce. Texture and flavor profile alike called to mind buffet roast beef with sauce added.So, if you dine here, our recommendation is that you go with the pulled pork, and sides of coleslaw and corn muffins.

When you pull into a restaurant and the traffic is wrapped around the building into the road, you've definitely picked the right spot. I probably come here to often, the food is really good. The 4-for-Friday special is the way to go. Great variety and plenty of food for three maybe four people depending on appetite. The staff has always been friendly and fast once you get to the ordering window. The meats all have that smoke flavor you're wanting and cooked appropriately for the correct tenderness.

Stop here every chance you get. The brisket is amazing! My absolute favorite is the pulled pork barbecue hamburger. Substitute the firecracker fries for the chips. You can't go wrong with this place. On top of the food being amazing, the staff are an absolute pleasure!

This place is difficult to find with GPS. Look for the smoker out front. See Pictures. BBQ is a very regional flavoured food, much like the WV hotdog. I may have to change from a more NC vinegar flavour to something sweeter in WV.

This place is the kind of place where you want to go if you are like me and are only eating one meal a day. If you are a normal person and eat several times a day, even better.I got the "Rake" Burger That comes with Pimento Cheese. The freaking burger was literally over an inch thick clear across the whole patty, the fact that it was USDA Angus beef made it even better.Most people reading this are probably sophisticated enough to know what a rake is, I didn't So for the uninitiated it's an onion, a particularly flavorful onion. I guess they only serve them seasonally so beware it may not be available when you show up.The side I chose was their "award-winning" mac and cheese, totally awesome! It could have been a little bit bigger portion but hey, you get what you get and you don't throw a fit.It just so happens I'm going back tomorrow and try the "Hillbilly Philly" just because I can but I'll tell you this, I would divert a hundred miles or more if necessary to get to this place, It's that good!

It's ok, however when a business is titled with BBQ, the pulled products should have the bbq baked in it. The bbq they give on the side is vinegar based. That is another issue. If your bbq is vinegar based inform the customer, so we can choose not to waste. Or offer some without vinegar. That's not bbq sauce in the corner of bowl.

I've been here many times at this point and have tried several special/seasonal things, along with some of the regular/traditional things that they offer, and I must say...I've never been disappointed!From the great tasting and quality food, to the friendly staff, to the great location (right off of I-64, take a left at the Institute exit and proceed towards WV State University...it's on the left) and atmosphere, you can't beat Ridgeview Bbq!

We ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich platter, a hotdog and cheese fries. The BBQ was super tasty as always. Their baked beans have lots of pulled pork in them as well and are on the sweet side. The potato salad was pretty standard. The cheese fries were regular ol straight cut frozen fries, but the cheese sauce helped them out a lot and they weren’t bad. The hotdog was beef, and you knew it the moment you bit into it. The coleslaw was good, but the chili wasn’t my favorite; too tangy for my preference. Certain times a year they have ramp pimento cheese and it is the holy grail of cheese spreads.

Had a Pork BBQ sandwich platter with baked beans, potato salad, and a piece of Texas toast all for $8! I couldn't finish it all. Definitely have to brag on the baked beans..it's almost a meal in and of itself.I went at lunch time to pick up my carry out order and the place was jammed pack so order in advance! Fortunately they have a drive thru and I got my order in a few minutes.Overall this place is a local gem with good food at a solid price!

Ramp Burger season starts April 2. That's reason enough to go!The service is fast and courteous whether it's indoors or drive-thru. Like all restaurants, prices are up due to inflation, but where else will you find a Ramp Burger?The platters are wonderful year-round.

Love, love, love this place. I visit once a week and everything is always wonderful. From the excellent service I receive from the staff or the extraordinary food. Don't get me started on the food. The pork is amazing and the chicken is just as good. The ramp burger in the spring is fantastic. The potato salad is one of my favorites. I just l9ve it here. 100 percent worth the visit, and a value to boot.

First time getting food here. Went thru the drive thru so cannot comment on the atmosphere. Drive thru service quick with friendly staff. The bbq sauce was delicious. These meats however were so chewy: pulled pork, brisket so tough that we threw it away. The chicken wings should slide right off the but they were so tough it was like chewing rubber. Threw those away, as well. The ribs were excellent. Tender and came right off of the bone. Probably will not return unless it is for the ribs. So disappointed 😞

Oh my god, if my stomach could talk, it would be asking: "Can we come back again tonight, Ashley?" I went in there for lunch not too long ago from the time of this posting. The ribs were out of this world. The fries were made perfectly, and that was some good potato salad as well. Will I come back? Much sooner than you'd think. ;)

Very good food, and very friendly people and they are fast, my kids eat ribs and chicken and turkey from this place and no other restaurants, great choice for BBQ if your in the area! The pic is the firecracker chicken wings
