Fantastic service. They really care about you and your babies.They take extra time to listen to their human companion's assessment and take all of the data presented into account.I would not even worry about which vet sees your baby, they are all kind, caring, professionals who go way beyond what is adequate care.Five stars is not nearly enough for this compassionate staff.

Dunbar Animal Hospital is the best! Dr. Grady is awesome! We highly recommend Dr. Grady and her staff, they saved our baby Ebony and we are forever grateful to them and also the staff at The Emergency Hospital who took care of our baby while the Dunbar Animal Hospital was closed. They are gentle and loving to those they care for and they understand that your baby is not just a pet that they are a part of your family and truly are like your child. I thank God for those who work there, it's not just a job to them, they are Animal lovers and truly care and it shows in all they do. God Bless them all!

They've been really great with all of my pets. And they've been very kind and helpful with my Macy who has had a few health issues. They were also kind and caring enough to send me a card after my husband died and a week later our 15 year old dog passed away. It has been a rough time , not to mention yesterday made a year since the passing of my dad. It was very comforting to know there are people who care and want to help you take care of your pets and it isn't just about the money. I'm grateful to them for their kindness and help.

I had to say goodbye to my baby girl, Maggie, on 6/10/23. She was the best dog, friend, daughter for almost 16 years. I had never been to Dunbar animal hospital before but my coworker told me they were nice to her when she had taken her baby there. That was all I wanted, someone nice and caring to be around when my baby went to heaven… They were amazing! I cried from the moment I walked through the door to the moment I left- not including all the moments before and after of course- and through every tear, not a weird look, not a nasty smirk, just compassion. They offered to make a paw print resin for me but it would take a couple hours and after she was gone but I didn’t want to leave her there. She needed to be laid to rest. I had made a paw print salt dough ornament for Christmas so I had that. They took her back to wrap her up and get her ready to leave and apparently they took an ink print of her paw. I wasn’t expecting them to bring her out in her very own casket, card board of course but none the less it was casket shaped so it was her casket. They drew a heart on the end where her sweet head was…That was another wonderful thing they done. Back to the inkPrint… Today in the mail I received 4 cards with my girls paw print along with written condolences and sweet words singed by the staff.. I can not thank you all enough. It was so hard to say goodbye and finding such nice caring people to be by our side, all I wanted, I sure did find at Dunbar AnimalHospital. 💕💔💕

Staff was very nice. They are willing to give as much care as they can. Vets are extremely expensive but they have gone above and beyond for my dog "TROUBLE "" .. I recommend this animal hospital to anyone. They also have walk services starting at 8am. You do need an appointment for services in the afternoon. ❤️❤️❤️

I don’t have enough good things to say about Dr Bannon and his staff. I’ve been taking our pets to Dunbar Animal Hospital for about a year (since we’ve been in West Virginia). We have 4 dogs and 2 cats. I wouldn’t think of going elsewhere. Dr. Bannon has a true gift with animals.

Just being honest. Worst experience I've ever had at a Vets office. My appointment was later in the day, I understand the workers had a long day, but still. They tried to take my cat's blood and weren't even capable of doing that. The cat was barely moving and meowing a little, never had a problem at any other vet. The vet looked like she was about to have a panic attack and said she couldn't do it and I'd have to schedule another appointment to put her to sleep in order to take the blood. I said "want me to come back and hold her?" she said "no, i can't take blood with customers standing over my shoulder staring at me". Then gave the cat some antibiotics and ointment and sent me on my way. About $200 down the drain. Thanks, Dunbar Animal Hospital! You guys are the best!

I honestly don't feel like I should give a rating, as I didn't get the see the vet. I sat in the waiting room for over 3 hours, without my name being called. In their defense, they had a few traumas come in, so I'm not bashing them. Just saying how my trip went. They ladies were very nice.

Didn’t offer to close any of the doors or muzzle and wasn’t honest about how long to walk in takes after I sit for two hours missing work n money with my dog reactive German Shepard in my small car I called and she said there’s nine ahead of you. It’ll probably be few more couple hours. I said well they should be by appointment only if it’s more than an hour. I went to work left never did get a call to come in. * Gateway cleared halls of dogs shut doors n made me apt same day. St.albans. They also gave me a muzzle. He’s fine with ppl… just happy n big. With Dogs… not so much. I was In n out. Done. Check up over.

Today I returned to DAH to pick up food I had left behind the prior day after an upsetting office visit. As I was just walking out the door holding 24 cans of food but still in the waiting room one of the receptionists called out to me and proceeded to ask me not once but twice where the pill bottle was that I claimed to have with me during our phone call the day before. I replied twice that when we talked by phone I was in my car 🚘 on 64 and did not have the pill bottle or I would have shown it to them before I left. The pill bottle was also not at home as I had thought and had already been thrown out after the Rx had been used. It was obvious her repeated questioning was to embarrass me in front of other pet owners in the waiting room and the other receptionists. I said I would not be returning bc the office visit the prior day was upsetting. She then said they were very upset too.Very rude and unprofessional conduct. Three of the 4 vets are great but obviously neither I nor my pets will be back.

They are nice people, but they charge to much for certain procedures. Also, I bought a flea pill for my dog & it did absolutely no good, it almost seems like it made it worse

I have been to a lot of vets . in June of 2014. I took my Dog Rusty to three different vets for two weeks for throwing up on a Friday night he couldn't stop Sat morning I took him to Dunbar animal hospital me and my sister got there around 8:30 they open at 9:00 my sister gets out of the car she gets in line to save our spot I pick him up and hold him in my arms at this time he had just enough strength to pick his head up I seen the staff going in the building at 8:50 so I get out of the car and walk over to my sister I started crying I told her Rusty is dying she said no he's not I was frantic and said he is limp and his tongue is turning slightly purple she took him out of my hands and starts kicking the door one of the staff comes running out and wanted to know what was going on I was screaming my dog is dying the woman takes Rusty from my sister's hands and said honey he's dead my sister said no he's not so we go in the side door she takes him in the back it seemed like hours but it was only minutes one of the doctors comes out and asks could they put IV and oxygen on him at this time I'm on the floor crying save my dog she said good because I've already put it on him they put us in a room about 10 minutes later she comes back out and tells us when she laid him on the table to take an x-ray she said he picked up his tail and wagged it that's when she knew he was a fighter and he was going to be okay. Thanks to Dunbar Animal Hospital Rusty will be 12 years old in May and he is doing fine

Good old fashioned medicine- Dr. Grady is our hero!I have nothing but the highest praise for Dr. Grady and the entire team at Dunbar Animal Hospital... She is, quite possibly, the smartest vet i've come across in the past 6 years. Her clinical acumen is on point and her overall philosophy and judicious use of diagnostics is a rarity these day. Dr. Grady is super well-rounded. No frivolous anything. Just good old fashioned medicine.My senior dog has a million and one ongoing and new issues. She previously saw internists, cardiologists, dermatologist, etc when we lived in a big city. Dr. Grady wears all these hats, and then some. She has confidently helped us navigate thru serious issues such as high-suspicion for bladder cancer, extensive atopy, severe pancreatitis, and new diagnosis of diabetes. Her ability to synthesize all aspects of my baby's care is impressive. Dr. Grady is, quite simply, the whole package.Yes, the wait times are long for walk-ins. We always try to make an appointment. Everyone has been extremely helpful and PATIENT... Dr. Grady spent over 30 minutes at lunchtime going over results with me over the phone. She goes above and beyond for the pet and their owner.I noticed a while back Dr. Grady was interviewed by the Daily Mail about Vet Schools (or the lack thereof) in WV. My hope is that until WV has a vet school- Vet's such as Dr. Grady continue to come back home to WV to take care of our community. Her kindness, selflessness, and dedication inspire me.I trust her with my most precious love, and that says a lot. Not sure we could have made it this far without Dr. Grady.. so from the bottom of my heart, thank you. We appreciate you and everyone at Dunbar Animal Hospital.

I take both my dog and cats, Dr Perkins diagnosed my cat with lymphoma after other vets not pushing further to see why he had lost so much weight and gotten so sick. My cat passed away because the lymphoma was so far along 😞 The doctor and staff were so caring and compassionate!! More recently my dog got out of our yard and broke her leg very bad and she was seen as a walk in by Dr Whitt, we got referred for orthopedic surgery in another clinic but they were so good to my dog, and once again so caring. I highly recommend!

Took my buddy my best friend and son...part of our family to this Vet and they were so wonderful and helpful very caring about my dog. That's the main thing I want in my care for my animals is to feel like they person looking at them cares about the best thing for my dog,not just to make money from me. I’ve always had nothing good to say regarding the doctors but the way business is handled and no resolution to the mistakes that they made is very unwelcoming and will no longer be taking my pets there for service. Very disappointed customer that has been with them for 20 plus years.
