This was my first stop after hiking Dolly Sods and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. This place wasn't very big but packed lots of character. I got a chicken, bacon, and ranch burrito that definitely hit the spot after a long hike. The burritos are MASSIVE and quality ingredients. This place is a must stop in Davis, WV.Vegetarian options: They had tofu and seitan options

I love this place. It is on the main road in Davis WV. The staff was fabulous, the experience was fun, and the food was delicious. This is also on the WV tourism culinary trail.Parking: We went in the off season so street parking was easy, however I know Davis gets crowded in better weather times making parking a little challenging. Park and walk the town is charming and it's an enjoyable walk.

You better come hungry to this small quaint local burrito place in Davis,WV. Seating is limited, it's on a first come first serve basis. You can place an order "to go" and if in-house seating comes available you can snag it and enjoy your meal there.You can save half of your burrito for the next day or if you're hungry enough, you can eat the whole thing and not be hungry for the rest of the day!The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is very inviting and welcoming. They have local beers on tap and some others too. You can get some merch if you're just in town visiting. Definitely a great place to check out.

I ordered the face plant burrito. It was very bland with the exception of the jalapeños. They loaded it with rice and that is mostly what I tasted. The fritos were soggy. The burritos were huge!! The chips and salsa were great! The green chili was amazing! Great beer selection! The place is small, but cozy. You have to go up to the bar to order and bust your own table.

Hellbenders is a must visit place if you are in the area. Not only is the food great, but if you are looking for a restaurant that is authentically West Virginian, this is the place. The people working here are nice and friendly. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. I always get the chicken hellbender burrito, and I have yet to be disappointed. If you are coming off the trail, this is a great post hike meal!

Hellbender Burritos has been a preferred stop for over 10 years and never disappoints when I'm in the area!I was happy to see they were open the week between Christmas and New Years, and still hadveggie favorites: the Lost Hiker, Tree Hugger, and Paw Paw Lemonade on the menu.Hellbenders has a fun, casual atmosphere and is a great place to stop for a bite and a local brew after a day of outside activities.Don't forget to bring your appetite and to tip your servers well here. They are always amazing and accommodating.

If you want delicious, clean burritos/tacos/etc. then look no further. Match the high quality food with over and above staff and you have a recipe for success!The restaurant has a very nice layout as well. Checked them out on a Sunday afternoon and was serviced quickly!

Interesting burritos, although they certainly don't claim to be authentic Mexican cuisine. Creative names and concepts. Good beer list and a decent number of taps for a relatively small outfit. They can get pretty busy on weekends so don't plan to waltz in with a group larger than four and get a place to sit. Also, there's a nice warm wood stove in the seating area near the entrance which could be a hazard to small kids (they have a warning sign on the front door). Good value though, and a cozy warm place for dinner after a day on the slopes.

HUGE burritos! Cilantro lime rice in the burritos was amazing!Service was a surprise for the “type” of restaurant this is. We were greeted upon entry and instructed to order at bar when ready. We were also checked up on twice during our visit.I only gave 4 stars on the atmosphere because it seemed that the bar/counter was a hangout for locals and a drunk lady. Unnecessary congestion and distraction with the workers.

Great place with nice selection of 'make your own' and house specials. Beer avaliable, too! Not many tables -only 5- so it gets crowded but if you are patient you will find a seat. Fun decor, very cool staff, reasonable prices. Quality ingredients from how everything tasted, wish I had room in my belly to try more things. One star off because the one burrito we got was dripping in soy sauce, way too salty. I know that soy sauce was used as the marinade but it was overkill. Need to dial that back. Otherwise I definitely recommend this spot and do hope to visit again!

We went here while on vacation to WV. We had a party of 11 and couldn't get a table that would seat all of us. You sat yourself, so people coming in after us were getting to tables before us, which was very frustrating. We finally opted to place our order to-go and take it back to our hotel. It took an hour to get our food for a to-go order. It took all of 5 minutes to get back to our hotel with the food, and the shrimp on my tacos was cold.The rest of our party had rave reviews about their food. The burritos are massive! The staff at the restaurant were friendly and had good recommendations. I tried a cherry limeade sour on tap that's probably one of the best sour beers I've ever had!We would go here again, but we might try calling in a reservation next time. I'm not sure if they take reservations. Otherwise, just picking up an order to-go instead of trying to fight for seating.Parking: It was busy when we arrived, so had to wait for a street parking spot to open.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly if you can find seating. Nice kid menu.

Finding the best tofu tacos I’ve ever had in my life in a small town in WV was not on my 2023 bingo card. I apologize in advance for the mid eat picture I had to try to stop before it was all gone. Incredible tacos. I usually get corn tortillas but went with flour this time and it was amazing. As a life long vegetarian my expectations are usually low for tofu/ fake meat substitutes however the tofu tacos were incredible here. The tofu was not wet, it was cut and diced and SEASONED perfectly. The taco was topped with a bed of heavenly green lettuce. The guac?!! Decadent, creamy, fresh, I wish I got more. Come here if you want to be happy.

The food was awesome the servings were enormous! they also had a lot of vegetarian-friendly options and some alternatives for those with gluten intolerances. They weren't super knowledgeable on their Cheese's but that's ok (many cheeses are lacotose free)overall enjoy the meal very much and had a great time.

Burritos, chips and sides and beer selection we're all amazing. I almost wish the burritos were smaller so I could've tried more! We got the gravity check and admiral and they were both amazing. My youngest got a cheese quesadilla and oldest got a beef burrito. The portions are huge! Seating is FCFS, you order at the bar and they bring your food. Large parties are hard to seat, which was our problem. That was the only atmosphere issue, is the large party was cramped and by the door so cold when the door opened.

Decent BurritoWe had decided to give Hellbender a try since people online were excited about their burritos. I had the steak which had tender steak chunks throughout and the wife had the chicken which was tender. She loved the flavor of the guacamole. The one downside of the steak was there was no kick to it. If marinated in spices, I believe it would kick it up a notch prompting me to bring this rating up to a 4 and to hit a 5 would require better chips as they were of average quality. The salsa was great so better chips would definitely compliment the meal experience. The noise level here is moderate and there is limited seating so keep that in mind as the weekend crowd can fill up the tables quickly. I am curious as to why they serve a spoonful of slaw with their burritos.

Big ol’ delicious burritos in the heart of Davis, WV. Before (or after) you hit the slopes this is a nice little spot to appease your hunger. The burritos are BIG and very tasty. Lots of different drinks to choose from. They even have a fireplace going during the colder months. Pick up a shirt or sticker as well!

Absolutely loved this place. Went there on super bowl night and wasn’t overcrowded like suspected. Our waitress was amazing and so was our food. Loved the theme of hellbenders and the great conversations me and my girlfriend had with the friendly people having a drink. Will definitely be back next time we’re in West Virginia!
