New building is absolutely beautiful, the cats, dogs, puppies, kittens and mean dogs all have their own space now. Front Desk is great and the staff can't be beat. I got my kitten Onyx from there on 12-8-2023. The little guys is a blast...he's healthy and came with all his papers. I will donate soon and I really hope more people like me and you donate too.

The staff was incredible, and we got our dog within a day or 2 after putting in the app. They gave us toys and leash/collar, we didn't have to take anything, and our dog is def. A part of the family now

Worst animal shelter ever tried 3 time to have them pick up a stray from our apartments. Was told I had to paint on FB which I don't have time to do and could keep the pup. The officer told me it wasn't her job and she wouldn't come get the dog that will obviously freeze to death. Just sad they got new facilities from tax payer money I'm sure and won't do the job they are supposed to do.

Beautiful Place. Great Staff. Gonna let the kids help me volunteer 🙋‍♀️ there.Roane County shelter NEEDS funding and more help. Not to take the focus off Jackson County.. but it needs to be noted ✅ that Roane County could use all the help they can get. The staff are amazing and go beyond to do everything they can. They just need more donations and funding.However thank you Jackson for being so inviting allowing us to play with all the cute babies. We'll be back for sure!.

5 years ago we adopted Hoover from an dog rescue here in NJ. They took Hoover as a rescue from you guys. I just want to say thank for rescuing this pup from some hoarders house that poised as an animal rescue when she was arrested. He has been the best dog ever! He is family. Just figured I would give you an update on one of your many rescues. He is living the good life now.

Oh my goodness...We roll up, staring at the ladies inside. Waved to them, one comes out and asks what we want... confused, my mother and I looked at each other and replied that we were looking for a dog or puppy. She goes oh! Yeah, come on through. We come in and one lady is sitting holding a puppy that's only 3/4 weeks old. We go to the back where 10 dogs are held. Rough condition of the place. The whole yard is fenced but only one dog out. 7 males and 3 females; one with babies. 3 staff members that we saw. No one giving love, outside time, conditioning or anything. We come out of the back asking about the puppies and the lady tells us oh no. They're too young. Obviously... we asked if they could take our name and number and let us know where they end up. She replied nope. We don't do that. They'll be leaving soon as they could catch diseases here. What do you mean you don't do that? A chance for a puppy to go to a loving home one day? And all I get is nope and told you have diseases here... Then some people come in to donate some stuff and we get disregarded... unpleased with the conditions and staff with knowledge... I hope these dogs get adopted fast but probably not when they aren't at all loved or conditioned... I pray for those babies...

I got my amazing bleu baby from here an there are so many others who need furever homes I'd rescue them all if I had the money an space but this is my way of helping them find a home sharing my experience here it was a great one

Dear people of Jackson countyAll of the animals this shelter are calm and being treated wonderfully. The staff are kind and help the animals get put in good homes and help you find the right one. I would 100% recommend this place if anyone wanted to adopt. I wish you good luck.To the store owner:By the way the two tabby cats are precious.

I saw a senior dog on petfinder and contacted the shelter. Dreama Lemaster responded to all of my emails about him. I drove there from Columbus Ohio to meet Tank. Dreama was there to meet me and took me around the shelter so I could see all of the wonderful dogs that they had. I decided to adopt Tank and I loaded him up and took him home! I renamed him Fred and he is a wonderful dog and I couldn't get imagine my life without him. You can tell the people there care about the animals and I was very impressed with the work they do. Don't hesitate to check out this fantastic shelter!!

Got my first young dog here. The staff had rescued her from a bad home. They spent several months training and preparing her for adoption. She is the love of my life. So sweet and friendly. All my thanks go to H. Thank you so much.

Horrible. They need a better system for helping families find lost pets. My mother in law called and gave her info when her cat accidentally got out, a week later a neighbor found him under their house.. thankfully they remembered we were looking for him, the neighbor said she had called the animal shelter and was told nobody had lost a cat in our area.. really? That's awesome Jackson county animal shelter.

Had a stray cat dropped on me and asked if I could bring it in. I was told no, cause their was a list and I would be added to said list. So, what good is an animal shelter if you can't take in something dropped on you. What am I supposed to do with the cat, I never asked for?
