Dr. Eric Dougherty and the staff are amazing! They always treat my dogs Otto, Ava and Elle (and the cat) with the best care. They are such an accommodating and caring group of professionals that they make the nearly hour drive from our home in Pittsburgh's South Hills worth it. I will never go anywhere else as long as they are open and operating.

Wonderful people, great experience.Did a great job with our dog's amputation. Went exactly as they said and the vet was very forthright with all facts of her case, which we needed since another vet skirted around the fact that the amputation would only be palliative care rather than curative.

Great care for my kitty. This was our first visit with Kevin and the vet tech made a big deal about how handsome he was. She even made a hiding place for him so he could feel comfortable. Both the vet and assistant took their time and were very gentle with my baby. Highly recommend!

I have been going to Chester Veterinary for years and recommend them to everyone. Dr. Eric is personable, doen to earth, and very thorough without stringing you along and trying to wring every dime out of you possible in the way many other vets will. His approach is very straightforward and he does an excellent job of explaining things in a way that makes sense. His staff is phenomenal and the best around. The best Veterinary clinic around!!

Dr. Eric is the absolute best as is his staff. I take my puppy to him and have been taking my cat to him for years. My cat wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for his generosity years ago. I was a broke college student and he worked with me to make sure my cat could get the care he needed. He is far from “all about the money” and I can attest to that personally. I wouldn’t want to take my animals anywhere else.

Dr. Eric Dougherty and his staff is simply the best. Our cat had a possible UTI and we were able to drop her off in the morning. She was kept all day to collect urine and analyze it using their brand new urinalysis machine. A diagnosis was made, RX prescribed, and kitty is feeling great and back to her normal self. Thanks Doc Eric!!

I will recommend this Vet to anyone! The staff is excellent they are always helpful and friendly! They take the time to answer any questions and interact with my dogs. Yeah I have had a couple of bills I didn't expect but it's not their fault one of my dogs had an extra problem a quote is a quote so I have no complaints about pricing. As for the wait time they are very busy because they have an excellent Vet! He takes time to make sure your animals are okay and is very helpful! It is hard to someone that cares for animals as much as him and his staff does around here.. I am sorry for all the other bad experiences but I have never went through any. They have fit my dogs in more times then I can remember and I appreciate it wholeheartedly!

We have been taking our pet's to Chester Vet for 17 years and they had always been great until several years ago when the practice was sold to "Dr. Eric". That's when it quit being about the animal and the owner and became more about the money. "Dr. Eric" has a HORRIBLE mannerism with your pets and in most cases is very non-caring towards them and towards you as an owner. I personally quit taking my dog to him almost two years ago due to poor interactions and a pure lack of knowledge about the breed. My wife continued out of loyalty to take her dog and our cat. Bad mistake, because the service has gotten even worse. "Dr. Eric" called my wife and erupted on her after she inquired why a referral wasn't done to a specialist because "Dr. Eric" didn't have the knowledge to treat her dog. She had waited nearly three weeks to follow up to see why he hadn't done his job and completed the referral. He said she was no longer able to bring her animals to his clinic to which I said thank GOD because they will probably have a better quality of life without "Dr. Eric" in it. He is completely narcissistic and believes himself to be way more competent than his work would represent. This clinic has gone so far down hill under his ownership that I cannot describe. Like I said, I quit taking my dog because he was less knowledgeable than most vet techs with the breed. If you want to go to a vet where he believes he is GOD's gift to the animal world and your pets and yourself will be treated poorly then you have found the place. "Dr. Eric" and I say that lightly shouldn't be permitted to run a worm farm. Good luck but more importantly good luck to your pets if you choose the great "Dr. Eric".

This was my first time at this clinic and was very impressed with the vet and all the staff. I feel so relieved knowing that my kittens are in such good hands. Now knowing this I can get some rest at night and not have to worry about my kitten children . Would recommend them to everyone.

A friend of ours took their new puppy in the other day to get fixed. Was told it would be $70. Vet found a hernia and told them it wouldn't cost much more to remove it while he was in there. Cost totaled $300. Absolutely ridiculous!!! If it was going to be that much more, he should have warned them! I doubt if they'll go back, and I don't blame them... Be very careful as to cost!

Awesome people the are so nice our Golden Retriever had a hot spot on his neck apparently an allergic reaction to fleas. called this morning they got Charlie in this after noon Dr. Eric took excellencent care of Charlie.
